I don't really get the issue with Neo. I buy it regularly and find it a good read.
The magazine I'm fine with, it's the promoting of the company who sponsored a competition that angers me as I hate fixes.

I doubt its a fix, they'd have probably got the same amount of nominations if they didn't sponsor jt. I mean, just look at how crap the rest of the nominations are.

It feels like manga HAS to be the top anime company, even though most more "hardcore" fans would say AL. Its the casuals who say Manga as it has, all the big franchises e.g. dragon ball and naruto.

In many respects Manganimatsu is the best company (even though I'll never vote for them) because they serve a lot of the regular fans of NEO's demographic, but having them sponsoring a supposedly-serious poll where the responses are all massively stacked in their favour is not on. I mean, it's good that they aren't hiding it but does a survey even need a sponsor in the first place?

I'm still amazed that we can support more than one sort-of-terrible anime magazine in the UK these days
What's the other one?

MyM, though it has branched out a little. I haven't read it as recently as my last NEO experience but I wasn't impressed the last time I picked it up and it's become deeply involved with the MCM bunch, whose opinions on things like bootlegging are just as peculiar as those of the administrators of NEO.

Anime Ltd produce better products but very few of their shows interest me. I have bought far more from Manga, MVM & Animatsu. If I'm judging on title alone then Manga/ Animatsu win hands down but in terms of quality and presentation then Anime Ltd win no contest.

I own two manga shows and one animatsu, about 5 AL and 3 MVM so yeah manga have lost me a lot since last year and AOT and bad chapters.

Just Golden Time and Snafu for me from what I've seen of them. I want P4 but £65 is a joke considering it won't be anything fancy.

In regards to Death Note, I thought Manga said they'd never do up res BD releases. Honestly, I'd be all for it just to replace my DVDs due to the sheer size of the size of the set. Unless their BD release is 9 Amarays in a crappy cardboard box like the DVDs

That was the case but considering how the industry has changed (and the fact that Blu-rays are now cheaper than before) I think it's safe to assume upscales are now accepted as the norm, especially with big properties like Death Note which could sell for them.

The US release (for anyone wondering) is 5 discs to cover the TV series and Re-Write Compilation films (4 for TV & 1 for Films).

This is probably me being a dick here, but isn't most anime not produced at 1080p? Meaning almost of all Manga's blu-rays are upscales...
