£30 for the collectors edition of BoG and £25 for the normal BD, Amazon having a laugh right?
Still waiting for Base.com, see if the do better then AoL.

You know how Amazon work, it goes up for RRP and then fluctuates.

It's possible placing a pre-order now with Amazon would be the best bet, when the price drops you lock in your price promise at the best possible mark. That what I did with the Gurren Lagann release. Granted Amazon may catch onto this sooner or later and not drop as low if they get a large influx of pre-orders at the starting price, so it pays to keep an eye on it. Just make sure you cancel before they get stock in as I find my orders that are technically in stock but don't yet seem to be being processed mysteriously go to being processed when I hit the cancel button (happened with Wolf Children when I tried to cancel after spotting it cheaper in HMV)

Good point about pre-order price guarantee Rosencrantz !
Also totally forgot about my student membership, free prime and 5% off :)

Also, are FUNi gonna remaster Cowboy B. Themselves or use the UK ones?

Tempted to go for The Devil Is A Part Timer and AOT but I might refrain for now. Great news about High School DVD, since thats in $ do you think the UK release will be around the same time still?

I wouldn't see the title hitting the UK until sometime in April.

Del Toro's Monster isn't dead yet.
Last year, speaking at the fourth annual Hero Complex Film Festival, del Toro said he has submitted a pilot script for the adaptation of Naoki Urasawa's award-winning Monster manga to HBO and was waiting to hear from the cable network if the series would go forward.

You cannot compress ‘Monster’ into a feature,” del Toro said of the project he is co-writing with “Doctor Who” and “Sherlock” writer Steven Thompson. “‘Monster’ is almost like Chekhovian, it has all these little characters that are incredibly smart and delineated. Each of them has an arc and if you follow all of them, at the end of the last book you will be satisfied.

At the time, in order to get permission, he needed to agree to submit an outline of every episode of the theoretical first season to Urasawa. Del Toro added that series would have a relatively short total length as it will strictly follow the manga’s 18 volumes with nothing added to increase seasons or episode count.

I'd actually say HAL is better value for money than Kill la Kill but then again, I enjoyed HAL a lot more, since more effort went into the narrative than with KlK. Admittedly £25 is probably the upper price I'd pay for HAL but the length isn't necessarily a detracted, I'd sooner have a 60 minute film that wasn't scared to pull any punches than an 80 minute production that's been padded for time.
That's a fair enough position to take if you've seen both titles and judge their value by how much you enjoyed or didn't enjoy them (I paid £45 for the International Edition of 5cm Per Second because it's magnificent and full of extras), but I've seen neither and so I'm wondering how a short film that came and went without much fanfare or acclaim is comparatively more expensive than one of the highest profile TV series in recent years - with its lavish packaging, extras, and the Aniplex factor. Surely it can't be the finalized price.

The RRP for Hal seems extravagant to me as well, but I actually wonder if it might have been brought on by pressure from the Japanese side. I don't know how prevalent it is, but I know that some anime films released to Japanese cinemas do have short running times by western standards and perhaps, if it's considered a feature film, the licence costs involved would be much the same as a longer film.

The SRP was similar for Perfect Blue, which also has a similar running time, 80 minutes, and is available on Anime Limited's store for £14.99 (Collector's Edition) or £8.49 for the DVD.

Same applies to Tiger & Bunny: The Beginning, which is 88 minutes, and was available on their store for £14.99 as well.

So, you could always wait for it to be uploaded there if you think Amazon's pricing is too high?

I always wonder who edits those trailers together as to be honest, I've never thought that Aniplex's trailers are that great. The way that Nisekoi trailer was put together is just...bleh.

Is LotGH still licensed anywhere outside of Japan?
It was rumoured to be licensed in France by Kaze but turned out to be a hoax. You could, at least at one point, buy unsubbed episodes in an iOS app by the same people as the Dennou Coil app.

Here they are: http://www.animeworld.jp/
Can't check the app since my iPod was retired long ago.

Fun fact, Amazon have provided their UK release dates for some manga:
Black Lagoon Volume 10 - 7th April 2015
Gyo (2-in-1 Deluxe Edition) - 21st April 2015
JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Part 1: Phantom Blood Volume 1 - 3rd February 2015
JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Part 1: Phantom Blood Volume 2 - 5th May 2015
Master Keaton Volume 1 - 1st January 2015
Master Keaton Volume 2 - 17th March 2015
Vagabond Volume 37 - 21st April 2015
Vagabond Volume 12 (VIZBIG Edition) - 17th March 2015
Yu-Gi-Oh! Volume 1 (3-in-1 Edition) - 3rd February 2015

In regards to Monster, I hope it does eventually get an adaption by Del Toro (with a different person picking cast members 70% of the actors he has in The Strain are horrible) and it may also help the Anime being picked up for release.
If it was a short show (12 episodes) they could do it through "Netflix Original" which would be quite neat.

Hmm, so it's not got a license anywhere? No wonder the prices of sets I've found online are sky high.

I can't say for certain - I was going to say it was available in France till I actually checked back and found it has been disproved.

Sentai Filmworks have announced they have acquired Reideen, a 26 episode TV series from Production I.G aired back in 2007.

This is a catalogue title license so I'll expect this to be released sooner than later.
