The News Thread (for news that does not need a thread)

It's time for the August update and holy moly it's come around very quickly! And I think this might be a post you'll be excited to read.

Where are we in the project?

Well, we've already sent out the backer survey and first and foremost let me apologise for not including a fourth option in the add-ons question! What a pain in the patoot but thank you all for DMing me here on Kickstarter. I'll make sure all the information matches up so don't worry - you'll get what you backed!

Those who have backed the quad tier, good news! You should receive your quad posters this month! Quads are in and we already shared a photo of all the poster tubes living in our office so, honestly, the sooner we get them out the better.

NOTE: If you have NOT completed your backer survey, please do so as soon as you can! I'm working on collating all the information as soon as possible. I'm away for a couple weeks so I just want to make sure we have all the information before I'm gone to make sure things go out as early in August as possible. Worst case scenario, we're looking at the latter half of August ;)

So, we were like, wondering, will the Ultimate Edition include the OST?

We've been a bit quiet about this lately. When we left it last we said that if we managed to make up the difference in the missed target (a not insignificant figure) with the post KS sales on Amazon for the Ultimate Edition, we could actually get to include the OST without bankrupting ourselves.

Well, after recent sales we are happy to announce that YES! The Ultimate Edition of Patema Inverted YOU helped bring into existence will now include the soundtrack! You read that correctly: the OST is now included only in the Ultimate Edition.

We were being a bit vague on this front recently because we wanted to make double sure that we'd be able to do this (costs, rights cleared, etc) and we've done just that! Thank you all so much for making this Kickstarter, this Ultimate Edition a reality and we're super happy to be able to give something back to backers too :).

ANOTHER NOTE: If you are a backer of our Patema Inverted KS and now kicking yourself for not backing the UE, we've got some good news! Send us a direct message here on KS and we can arrange for you to upgrade your copy to the UE by paying the difference AT KICKSTARTER PRICES and NOT the current rate online! This offer if only available to backers of the project on Kickstarter and those who backed the project on our shop.

PLEASE NOTE: this offer is only available for 1 month and will end on the 29th of August. So if you're interested, please get your messages in. We can't hold this open indefinitely as we need to have final numbers in plenty of time.

So in conclusion, this is all incredibly good news! We are thrilled to make good on the OST stretch goal and happy you'll definitely, 100% get an Ultimate Edition of Patema Inverted! :) Great job everyone and thank you so much for the support!

I guess that's us for this month - things are moving along and we're getting stuff done! Expect to start seeing your digital goodies trickling in throughout August as well as the quads to backers of that tier.

The Patema Inverted Ultimate Edition is getting the OST after all.

britguy just pipped me to the good news.

Been some mix-up's on Amazon - looking into now!

Blood Lad [DVD]: Regular packaging is £34.99 but obviously doesn't have the Blu-Rays.
RSF Honneamise: Incorrect pricing, is £34.99 SRP!

Argh

That's brilliant news about Patema - really all feels like such a success story for the kickstarter campaign in general.

Hopefully as it shows BluRay for Blood Lad they should honor it!!

Some people have noticed that FUNi losing Charlene Ingram (brand manager) to Viz correlated with FUNimation's overall quality taking a nosedive (and meanwhile, Viz have suddenly started doing a lot of things right). That sucks for people who already ordered the set.
Char didn't manage every brand, so I honestly think that's people seeing patterns in clouds.

I thought for a moment it was Another Another, that show will forever be a pain when announcing things.

Great news on the OST, and good to see KS backers being offered the chance to upgrade to UE at KS prices. AL continue to impress with their support for people who backed them on KS (earlier on they added the story booklets for all standard tier backers as a bonus to make up for Amazon undercutting the price backers paid)

Bubblegum Crisis bluray delayed by four weeks.

After giving the matter a lot of thought, I have decided to push back the shipping date of the set by 4 weeks (from late August to late September) to provide more time for quality control checking.

I'd totally forgotten that I'd backed this via their paypal option, guess that's why I'm not getting updates.

Viz's release of Gargantia has been listed for release in early October as a nice LE release.
This special edition contains a chipboard artbox and an 80-page, full-color premium booklet featuring art, character guides, episode summaries, and more!

Contains episodes 1-13 and OVA episodes 1-2.

Special Features: Petite Gargiantia Mini-Episodes 1-13 & Petite Gargantia Special (subtitled only), Clean Openings & Ending, Textless Episode Scenes, Original Japanese Commercials, Original Japanese Promotional Videos.

I still don't see Manga getting this out in September, nor do I really care if they do or not.

Urk! Looks like my 'I'll buy Honneamise no matter what' resolve just got tested. Thirty-five buckaroos... *whimper*

Still, it's a rare case of a movie that I'd happily pay that for, provided the PQ is markedly better than the DVD version I already have. Which I'm pretty sure it will be, naturally.

It'll have been a very quick turnaround if they do - just over a year since it originally aired.. Understandable for something like AoT, but pleasantly surprising for Gargantia too.

Not sure if it's a mistake still but the Blood Lad Blu-ray version has change on Amazon. Was "Blood Lad - Collector's Edition Blu-ray set [DVD]" to "Blood Lad - Collector's Edition Blu-ray set" and the price has dropped from £34.99 to £32.74
