i really hope this doesnt fall into the little busters, haganai, raildex uk limbo as really want this too
Those are all different situations.
Sentai probably has UK rights for Little Busters. The first volume being released before Hanabee could do their own in-house authoring put paid to them co-operating with MVM as they do now. The lack of a DVD release in the UK might mean no-one wants it, or MVM just have it on the backburner.
FUNimation probably has UK rights for Haganai and, if so, it seems by now like Manga just isn't interested.
Raildex needs to be licensed direct from NBC Universal, and all we know so far is that it won't be coming from Manga for complicated reasons that don't affect the independants, MVM and Anime Limited.

Just realised something, with the UK version of Attack on Titan they have a CE Part 1 Blu-ray with the extras (DVD) and Notes Beyond the Wall Part 1. What about Part 2? There's no sign of a CE Part 2 and with that the UK fans won't have the second half of the booklet and the extras from Part 2's US release. If they indeed place the extras onto Part 2's standard BD release then they are still getting ripped off with the fact that the first half is DVD only. Just some random thought. :?

tl;dr Manga didn't plan well for Part 2 (unless MCM news solves it).

A small video clip has been released of the New Viz-Backed Sailor Moon dub with Stephanie Sheh and Robbie Daymond as Usagi and Mamoru, receptively.

Of note is the fact that they are deviating from script where appropriate ("Stupid Jerk and his stupid purple pleated pants!") and Sheh seems to be using a ramped up version of her Yui voice

A Letter to Momo has a release date in USA (October 21st 2014), which means Anime Limited's release could arrive before 2015.

Ideally - but I am yet to receive the dubbed assets and have a very crowded Q4 schedule including at least one newer IG film ;). So it may well sit in Q1 2015 at this rate sadly...

This puts me in a tough spot since I've already got AoA's first volume on Pre-Order. I'm conscious of the amount of space Aniplex's release will take up, but I do like all the little extras and stuff... I might wait it out and see what you come up with. To be honest I do want to continue supporting your model and see where it goes.
I am surprised that Aniplex are letting you release Kill La Kill over three volumes though to be honest. What's your release schedule looking like at the moment? When are you aiming to get each part out?

Well they've done part 1 in July and I imagine Part 2 is before too long for the US too, but the soonest we're likely to be able to do it is /just/ in time for Christmas (so first or 2nd week of December). Then probably late Q1 for Part 2. Ideally in time for May MCM for the final part (maybe some special guests too ;)).

We're still waiting for final approval though so it could yet change...working hard on it just now. Because we're doing it over 5 BDs though, we're maxing the bit-rates out just now so expect some particularly nice video...:3.

So 25 episodes over 5 discs, why is that not 5x5? Seems odd doing a 4,5,5,5,6. That disc with 6 on sounds decidedly uncool compared to the extra space the 5's and 4 will have. So AL will have 9,10,6 release I guess if they are doing it over 5 BD 50's? or do you have more freedom to make it a 10,10,5? (might be good to have that art box with the 5)

The reason they aren't doing 5x5 is because Aniplex didn't even know that Kill la Kill was getting an OVA Episode (during one of the livestream's).

Ours will be fancy too - the reason I haven't posted yet is we have no reply from Aniplex regarding our model. Here is what I have planned though which is VERY TENTATIVE UNTIL APPROVED:

Volume 1:

- 2 x BD50, 2 x DVD9
- Episodes 1-8 or 1-9, need to confirm with AoA what their first two volumes will have.
- Rigid case
- Digipack
- Storyboard / Art book 1 of 3 (100 - 200 pages, depending on what I can clear)
- Box to hold whole series in*

With box: £59.99-£69.99 SRP dep on what we get in terms of art, so likely £40-£50 on Amazon
No box: £49.99 SRP so likely so likely £30 - £40 on Amazon.

Box may come with Part 3 though depending again on what we get so none of this is determined yet.

AP

So far it looks just as good as the Aniplex version (the only thing it needs but will probably never get are the Soundtrack CDs, unless you manage to get the license during/after the Kill la Kill releases). Still undecided at the moment though but I'm glad you're getting a Box to hold the parts together (if possible could it be similar to the Ultimate Editions with an O-card to display the BBFC logos etc?). In addition I hope Video quality will be exactly the same as Aniplex's/original Japanese release, other companies (mainly Funimation and Madman) brighten the releases and cause banding etc. which gives mixed opinions in the fanbase.

Will definitely do an O-CARD around it to keep the box clean in this case :).

Best,

AP

Awesome! My interest has gone up (I've pretty much figured out what the Aniplex sets are going to have anyway) so I'll be waiting.

Funimation's October schedule is coming soon but what's been confirmed is A Certain Magical Index II Part 1 in Blu-ray/DVD combo, Bayonetta: Bloody Fate (Formats TBC - most likely Blu-ray/DVD combo and standard DVD) and Fairy Tail Part 12/13 (Season 4 Part 1 & 2) in Blu-ray/DVD combo.

As per an update on Kickstarter: the Mai Mai Miracle release may be delayed until Q1 2015 due to the original creator wanting the dub localised more. Curious to see how-so.
Hope we're not going to see things changed too much.

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/al ... ect_update

I don't mind a delay as I know Anime Limited and the original creator are working closely to make this release the best they can.

Oh for god's sake. The Time of Eve movie Blu-ray is already six months behind schedule, and now this. No more Kickstarters. DONE.

There was an saying on the old AnimeOnDVD boards that went something like "nobody screws up anime as badly as the Japanese" in reference to things going wrong whenever the Japanese side got too involved with US releases. Let's hope this isn't one of those cases.

On MangaUK's facebook:

Q: Hey, just wondering as it would be awesome for you guys to bring both Log Horizon and Captain Earth to the UK Shores?

A: I am trying Josh! Stay tooned. > Jerome x

Well isn't this terrible. No LE for Index II Part 1, Jellyfish is DVD only and why on earth are they putting Season 2 of Black Butler in AC and not the first one? I guess there's nothing for me here for now, Funimation really needs to step up because this year has been terrible on their part.

They probably will do a collectors edition, same as part one but without the artbox.

Both A locked (well listed A anyway)

Hopefully Mangas release of Arise will be the usual, same disc just with their trailers and logo(possibly Madmans logo).

Seen as Mangas parts 1-4 and 5-8 were the usual, I can't see why this won't.

Also, the Hellsing Ultimate listing states only the Actor Commentaries for Extras, which means Funimation may/may not have the rest of the Dawn Episodes and the OVA from Volume 10.

To be fair - we're still looking at release 1 year after licensing effectively - which isn't super uncommon all in all on that frontier :). That said I'm pretty confident in this case the original director is actually going to be a strong asset as opposed to anything else there :).

Thanks to all for the patience!
