I've heard the whole "It won't possibly pass the BBFC"-thing tens of times before... And it ended up passing anyway.

While I haven't seen OreImo myself, it can't be that bad... Enough people like to watch a thriller/horror. (;P) [\serious]

Plus, quite honestly, I think some people's reasoning for not liking OreImo is flawed... And don't get me wrong, I respect your opinion and am not trying to convince you incest is alright.
But what I'm getting at is the fact people giving up "incest" as the reason why they don't like OreImo often don't tend to use the same logic/reasoning when judging other anime...
Which makes me sometimes suspect I'm reading stuff from and/or talking to future detainees, outlaws or inmates.
Don't get me wrong, I do NOT condone of incest in real life either (just like I don't condone of some other stuff I like in anime)! ^_~
One: I was being sarcastic; I argue that for the stupid amounts of money they actauly make people pay, the BBFC need to be on top of s't like that and if they're not, like they should be, then they're not worth the time of day.

Two: The incest is, to be frank, an exclamation point to OreImo's s't. Even within the first season (Which didn't really go into how great if Bland McBlanderson actually did the Hillbilly Hoedown with the Ubermench) there was story beats that rang competently false; the situation with her phone novel and how Bland somehow got them to not change the content being the big bone in my craw.
Every chance there was for Ubermench to become more than the target of every loser in whatever passes for a Fedora in Japan's privates was scuppered because if there was any way she wasn't shown to be the ultimate purity the illusion would be shattered and they couldn't sell barely legal hugpillows that screamed "DO ME ONICHAN!" when you press down on her nonexistant boob.

It's a wrap! Completed English subtitles for #WhenMarnie Was There today. Well done, team. Now, back to #ThePrincessKaguya dub...

And probably the best news I've heard since this morning, Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax is heading to PS3 and Vita in Japan, it was originally to be for Arcades only. Retail version is unknown but once it's confirmed, I'll be importing that game (licensing issues will prevent localisation, like J-Stars Victory Versus and Super Heroine Chronicles).

In terms of Retail, it's possible in Japan. Heck, they even have Puyo Puyo Tetris in physical form (which I want, the demo is awesome).

Never mind that Super Heroine Chronicles was the idea of a Magical Girl Super Robot Wars turned into a f'king joke of the highest order.

I thought it was obvious that a console port would be happening sooner or later. I am laughing at how it's for PS3 and not PS4 though. Oh PS4, you're not doing very well in Japan at all are you?

Remember the PS4 was released really late over there and that otaku-centric games tend to cling to the older platforms in Japan as long as they can.

And aside from the first week or two after it launched, the PS4's sales have been behind even the Wii U, which makes headlines about how much it's not selling (although Mario Kart 8 has helped it a lot in Japan).

I see that Josh nicely sidestepped the issue of games still being announced for Vita by attacking the PS4 instead!

Considering Japan still has PS3 games announced for well into this year and beyond it's not a surprise. It's more in-keeping with the Japanese attitude to not screw over your consumers and force them to upgrade unless you have to, whilst also conveniently selling to the biggest install base (see: every DQ game ever).

Awesome news though.

While the Vita certainly is struggling in the west (aka: pretty much dead), it's weekly sales in Japan have been solid (in fact, last week it was neck and neck with the 3DS XL), so it isn't surprising to see games still coming out for it. If I do pick up the game, it will probably be on Vita simply because I prefer portables to consoles (which is admittedly odd as I rarely leave the house. I just like the freedom of being able to sit upside down on the sofa if I want).

The thing that bugs me is...Sony haven't really convinced me to buy a PS4 yet, despite it being on the market for over half a year now. The reason is simple - because the games that I would be interested in are already on the PS3. The PlayStation 3 certainly is still selling (last week in Japan, it only sold just less than 600 units more than the PS4) but if anything, shouldn't Sony work on ways to shift those PS3 buyers onto the newer PS4? (Although I doubt they care in the short term as it's still money for them). Maybe it's just as ilmaestro says in that while I have more of an opinion of "out with the old, in with the new", Japan like to stick everything for as long as they have to (which y'know could totally be applied to outside of gaming 9.9).

You're both right in that it's still very early days for the system (and it took the Wii U a good year and a half to hit the 10k+ weekly sales in Japan), but considering that the console had a delayed launch in Japan so that more games that appeal to that market could be made....have we really seen the titles to justify that delay yet?

No, I don't think so (but I don't think they could reasonably have delayed it any longer) - I agree that (despite the incredible number of years since the 360 and PS3 launched) we moved into this console generation too quickly in the end, before creators were ready. I think Sony were scared of MS getting the jump on them like last time and being behind for five years or so again, and then MS obviously panicked once Sony came up with their accelerated release schedule.

As long Japanese gaming continues to be dominated by PuzDora and other iOS games, and also Youkai Watch and the like though, success there compared to success in the States and the EU will becoming increasingly less relevant for companies like Sony.

Speaking of Yo-Kai Watch (as Level-5 have insisted on spelling it internationally), I'm really surprised that a localisation wasn't announced at E3 (although I guess with Nintendo focusing on Fantasy Life, they already have the "Level-5 Game" box ticked). I remember hearing that the TV anime was being pitched to licensors in the US a few months back, so something's probably going on. Maybe confirmation at the end of this year for a Q2 release?

While its not necessarily anime-related for now - Sony have brought the channel group that runs Kix and other channels.

Maybe we'll start to see more of an 'Animax' offering in the future.
Remember "Anime Central"? Kix is what that channel became when AC finally gasped its last breath. They also owned Pop Girl too.

Serviceable game company scuppered by incompetency from all other sides.

Inazuma Eleven's situation is a fustercuck from every angle; the games are subject to ludicrous levys (No UK release because dub voices, no uk release because cartoon's not on), it's taken Kix to get the show off the ground (and to be frank it probably should have aired there from the start) and there's been no attempt to sell it in the UK which, whilst not entirely good at it, is football mad.
