No we haven't. What are you on about?

Hahahaha. But seriously Manga make your mind up already, it's getting ridiculous. (Not that it matters to me, I always go for the Aniplex versions when it comes to Aniplex titles (with exceptions for DRRR!! and Gurren Lagann for specific reasons).

How one quickly forgets how AoT is being farted out and how much they arsed up SAO's extras.

I'll give the second one, but we haven't even seen a physical copy of Manga's AoT release yet. Calm down.

Considering we already know what it's going to look like for both content and package he does make a point, however they could announce a new change to the design and features at the MCM Expo.

I wonder if Jeremy is floating about
Yep, I'm about.
I would have made a comment about this sooner but I've been out action the last few days due to illness. Anyway, back on topic

Just to give some clarification on the Madoka Movies there is no definitive update about these coming to the UK via Manga UK at this time. That's NOT to say they won't be coming to the UK via Manga UK, but as things stand there's nothing to report. If/when that changes we'll make it known.

As a said on twitter, perhaps you need to be clearer in the future, as that's pretty much how we all took your reply.

I understand that you aren't allowed to announce things ahead of schedule, but If you at least inform people that you are looking at obtaining the licence, or whatever, then at least it will prevent some people from importing. Especially as some will then get annoyed if you release it a few months later.

Sometimes as much as we'd like to make things such as that known we simply can't. Trust me, I'd love to be able to flat out say "we're looking into [insert title]" so that you guys would know, but we can't. Not ideal in some cases, but that's how the dice roll.

yeah, this is deeply frustrating. I often end up not importing and just waiting, but for some titles, namely haganai, i kinda feel it's just taking too long, and i end up downloading it.

As far as I'm concerned it's move it or lose it and more often than not these days that's been "lose" in Manga's case.

They're too stuck to the old models where MVM and AL have been able to work perfectly fine with Japanese companies* and often with favorable conditions (NSTC discs, confirmed BR releases or at least quickly confirmed DVD only releases instead of this keep away game that Manga love to play and digital releases (DRM Free DTO in AL's case!) Manga's backed by a media corp and it can't even get it's s't on Netflx, allowing Sony to take all of Funimation's licences and lock them up in a service that's only good for talking of through gritted teeth?) and, hell, a willingness to talk with customers in ways that's not corporate shell game.

I'm thoroughly convinced that Manga of today would take a mandate from Toei to release MVM's disastrous Sailor Moon release from back of the day with aplomb and not only do it but try to convince everyone it's the best release of Sailor Moon we've ever seen.

* or at least to the point where they're not sassing off in the public's face about affairs

News has leaked out that these titles will be getting the Blu-ray treatment soon:

I know Manga have said they don't want the first 2 Madoka films in the past but how about this for a dream scenario: What are the chances of Manga UK sharing production costs with @anime in France (with their art box version just change logos like MVM/hanabee) as Andrew obviously has connections with them as he sorts out all their licences and this is just an assumption but I'm guessing you guys know each other and are friends and actually talk about this kinda stuff. Would it really be that hard? Even as a trial? And hell if it worked you could even do the same with Arise (please) and SAO extra episode! We don't even need an English dub just do the same release with subs :D

But that takes effort and that's banned under law in Mason Manga.

The negativity is strong in this one. I'm pretty sure at some point you must of been walking past a park and seen Jerome and Jeremy playing football with a kitten or something haha

But on topic is that something you would buy? It gets manga off the fence about proper 'collector's editions' (yes I do like their steel books but 1 every 2 years ain't enough) and would take the sting out of printing costs. And to take the risk down even further only do 1,000 copies like a true limited edition. No offense to Andrew but giving Durarara!! a 3,000 print run and calling it "limited" really isn't considering MVM's standard print run is 1,500 :p

We've been so quiet for the last wee while - my apologies! It's been super busy here as Team Anime Limited prepare to head to Japan Expo in Paris later this week!
So what have we been up to? Well, besides Japan Expo prep (eeeep!), we've been working on preparing things for the Kickstarter backer surveys for both Mai Mai Miracle and Patema Inverted. We're still waiting on some more details on both of these but it's looking like they'll be out soon.

Gurren Lagann Ultimate Edition! Still going gangbusters and you can still get your hands on one of the 2000 limited prints Amazon still have some http://amzn.to/1iUnByY and I believe Zavvi are doing a pretty decent deal too.

Other than that, it's the usual go go go! I'll be back and keeping you all posted more regularly. Expect some cool photos, reviews, discussions and posts from our time at Japan Expo! It's my first time attending so I'm looking way forward to it :)

Nice to see the surveys arrive soon, can't wait.

Had an update email from Amazon.

'' "Evangelion 3.33 - You Can (Not) Redo [Blu-ray]"
Estimated arrival date: February 05 2015 - February 07 2015''

Interesting...

Yes. But I know in my heart of hearts that it's something Manga would never do because reasons.

They're just pulling dates out of their backsides since there isn't even a confirmed release data for the US version.

Also, why does Sentai keep pulling this crap with announcing BD release dates well after they've announced the release for the DVD version as I've already been done in with this with the yuyushiki complete collection (and I've cancelled the DVD order because I needed to keep some cash available) and now it's happened again with photo kano which I'm not going to bend on since it's too close to my order being shipped.

Well, MangaUK did just tweet:
#NewEvangelion3Title Evangelion 3.33: You [Can] Not Have A UK PAL Release Until February

Ironic, that the film subtitled "You Can (Not) Redo" has constantly had its release date redone.

The real question though, is how many of us will still be alive to see Evangelion 4.44?

Just had an email about it as well (although mine came from Base).

As far as I'm aware, it's rumoured to be 2015/2016 but who knows. There are others like myself who are still wondering about Kizumonogatari (the Monogatari prequel movie).

2015/2016...so at this rate, that means a UK release in 2018/2019 if Eva 3.0 is anything to go by 9.9.

(Also, as annoying as this situation is, anyone feeling that Jerome's tantrum is a tad embarrassing?)
