The News Thread (for news that does not need a thread)

So they have just under 2k to make it less than five hours. Be snazzy if we could get the Soundtrack but unsure if possible with so much to get backed in so little time. I imagine we'll get even nicer quality packaging though with some of the extra funds so all good from my end.

Sucks that GKid's took the license in America, imagine the possibilities if A/L were able to snag that territory but oh well :)

Looks like it might be close, only £400 gained in the last 2 hrs, at that rate we'll be 1k or so short

If I had the money to, I would back the Patema Inverted Kickstarter and if it ended a week later, I would have been able to but alas, money.

Ah well, tis a shame it just missed the OST goal. Perhaps PayPal pledges could be kept open to get there? Still, looking forward to Patema Inverted and Mai Mai Miracle.

Shame it didn't quite make £40k. I am interested to see what they'll do (if anything) with the surplus cash.

I noticed people are still donating so it might be possible to get the OST.

Since PayPal helps add to the 40k mark it's possible.

Just asked United Publications regarding the Heaven's Lost Property issue (DVD sized case with Blu-ray slipcover), they said all of their stock (at the moment) are DVD sized but the next print run should be the original size so once they have it, they'll mention it.

>I have one more question to ask (if possible), the Anime Classic version of Heaven's Lost Property was given a
>DVD sized case with a Blu-ray slipcover from what I heard, and Funimation said it affected a small minority.
>Does any of your stock have the correct size (i.e. Blu-ray case with Blu-ray slipcover, like every Anime Classic version released on Blu-ray?).
Current stock still has DVD case with Blu-ray slipcover, and from what we can see whole print run was done like this.
When new version issued we will list this information on title.

How much would it cost to just import the Patema OST? Even if we were to collect more Papal pledges, I think we'd have a hard time finding enough people that they could pay less than the value of the OST each to make up the shortfall.

Not even sure you can buy the Patema OST separate. Had a look on play-asia and yesasia and it seems it only comes with the Blu-ray or DVD. So you would be looking at £40-£50 without shipping. Amazon Japan had no CD but MP3 tracks.

It's likely that funimation used up whatever stock they had of the original release (which was in DVD cases for the LE version at least) and stuffed them into the O-card for the anime classic version while replicating more discs and new covers for the newer BD sized cases.

That's basically what they did. Ironically Spice and Wolf could have been the same since they re-released it as a complete set last year and they even changed the cover to reflect the Anime Classic line.

Could be the case. I'll just have to wait and see what happens (shame since I really want to own HLP in Classic Line style, especially with Forte getting the same treatment).

Mai Mai Miracle Kickstarter June Update:

It's been about a month since we last spoke and we don't want you to think we'd forgotten about you! Between our regularly scheduled work and our Patema Inverted Kickstarter, it's been all go for us here at Anime Limited HQ. So, what are we up to and where, exactly, are we in the production of Mai Mai Miracle? I'm glad you asked...

The English Dub

As we mentioned before, we're working with the good people at NYAV Post on this and we're super excited. We've worked with them in the past and they tend to turn around some pretty spectacular dubs!

So where are we on the dub? The script is currently being checked over by Japan - which has to be done before we can move on with the ADR script. With this film being quite a bit older, getting everyone together to verify the script is taking longer than normal. It's a bit of a pain but really it's to ensure that the best possible dub gets made.

Replication and Fulfillment

With regards to the European side of things, we'll be managing this from start to finish, while our friends over at RightStuff will handle North America. We're sending over some examples of our work to RightStuff so they can see what we produce and the quality fans expect from us. They'll be able to break it down and work out if they can reproduce the quality Stateside.

Backer Surveys

We didn't forget about them! They will be going out this month (June) - most likely by the third week. We'll post an update so there is no chance you'll miss it when it's finally out :)

Digital Rewards

For all of you digital rewards backers (and backers from the higher tiers), we're working on these as I type. We're retrieving the HD video for this from Japan and are on target for deadline. Our goal is to get these out for August.

Packaging

In addition to everything else, we're currently finishing off the brief for the packaging. We'll be sitting down with Katabuchi-san's team in a week or so to go through what assets can be retrieved and used for the packaging. We have plenty of pretty cool ideas with regards to the packaging, but seeing as we're replicating in two territories (UK and US) we need to be sure we plan and design something both facilities can manage!

Right! I think that's everything for now. Basically, in a nutshell we've started the process and the project is moving! We'll have tons more to share with you by the next update. In the meantime, have a great June! See you all back here in about a month :)

Shin Megami Tensei news - "Shin Megami Tensei: Digital Devil Saga" is coming to PSN in Europe for £6.49, it's out this wednesday.

Very interesting A/L interview posted in the expo thread by lelouchnarukami, including a supposed license announcement (I've tweeted them for confirmation) : http://www.uk-anime.net/articles/Andrew ... offee%29/1

Edit: Just received confirmation :) https://twitter.com/AllTheAnime/status/ ... 8623207425

The only thing they haven't mentioned is the Shinkai Collection since that's been given lack of information for quite some time. I guess patience is a virtue with that one.

Just got an Email saying Durarara DVD has also been delayed, due September 1st.

Anime Limited just can't manage to stick to a release date can they? This year (and tbh the last) has been a complete mess with regards to delays.
