Just got an Email saying Durarara DVD has also been delayed, due September 1st.

Anime Limited just can't manage to stick to a release date can they? This year (and tbh the last) has been a complete mess with regards to delays.

They did confirm that the DVD release is delayed because of the re-authoring on the Durarara!! Blu-ray discs. Basically once the new discs are done they'll use those masters for the DVD.

Very interesting A/L interview posted in the expo thread by lelouchnarukami, including a supposed license announcement (I've tweeted them for confirmation) : http://www.uk-anime.net/articles/Andrew ... offee%29/1

Edit: Just received confirmation :) https://twitter.com/AllTheAnime/status/ ... 8623207425

The only thing they haven't mentioned is the Shinkai Collection since that's been given lack of information for quite some time. I guess patience is a virtue with that one.

It'd definitely be nice to hear a bit more on the Shinkai collection, and Escaflowne too. My gut feeling says we're unlikely to see either before the end of 2014, but you never know...

To be fair - we're replacing the entire mastering by Siren Visual so September 1st also is incorrect - it'll definitely be November by the time it's done.

Shinkai Collection - Working on dub access, which is pretty pricey! Watch this space but before end of 2014 is believable - also expect (although as of yet unlisted):

- Wings of Honneamise
- Blood Lad
- Mystery Film (not yet announced)
- Mystery series in Collector's Edition (BD only, not yet announced)
- Kill la Kill: Part 1 of 3
- Psychic School Wars is also likely

Will have a full list when I get time to sit down :).

Ooooh, I can't wait to get my hands on them. Will the catalog section on the site be updated? and as a suggestion maybe have a slot for the mystery film & series just to taunt the viewers.

We hope...

Don't see why it won't be done in time, especially as the dub has already been completed.

Bingo - already got a chunk of assets too - fyi our current configuration (awaiting costs) is:

- 96 page softback book of production sketches and artworks
- Hardback box to hold both Season 1 & 2 of the release
- Cowboy-Bebop style packaging for Season 1
- 2 BD50s to hold the series.

Looking at similar with DVD but of course 3 DVDs. That's why the BD and DVD are more expensive than regular shows though :).

Best,

AP

Still holding out hope the AL will license higurashi. In the interview with Andrew on uk anime net, he said he wanted to release anime that are the top of their genre, and Higurashi is the quintessential horror anime.

Nice update.

I know it's early, but do you have any estimate on when you may have some info regarding the first part of Kill la Kills release?

Update #16 - For backers only

Thank You All For Making Patema Inverted Ultimate Edition Happen!

Thank you!

Well here we are! Together we have funded successfully a pretty sweet and awesome ultimate edition release of Patema Inverted! Thank you all so much for all your support, generosity and shout outs throughout this month-long process. I think this Kickstarter has really proven that there is a real desire from UK (and European fans) for high quality releases with as much extra content as possible. Even when it's a new film and not an established classic! So that's all down to you guys - thank you so much for making this happen :)

So, now the all important questions you've all been asking and waiting on answers for....

When will the backer survey go out?

This will go out very soon - in the next few weeks or so. The reason this is being turned around so quickly is that we may have some goodies ready to ship very soon....

When will the goodies be shipped?

For those of you on the Quad tier, you'll be happy to hear that we expect these to be printed and ready to ship in the next month! Once we've sent out the backer surveys and got them all back, we'll make sure to send the quads and any other goodies we've managed to finagle sooner out to all of you :)

So, did we hit the OST stretch goal?

As of now, with the final count and - admittedly still waiting on some payments to come through, particularly through PayPal - we're plenty short of hitting the OST stretch goal. Currently, we are £1,535.00 short of hitting the stretch goal target. This is not a small sum sadly and represents quite a big hit to us. Without hitting the total in the allotted time, we can't simply just 'go ahead and do it'. It's an intensive and expensive process.

What now?

That being said, we understand your frustration fully. We would LOVE to include it as, in our mind, it would truly make it an ultimate edition. If we leave the PayPal option open, with the current rate of uptick, we are not likely that we'd hit the target any time soon - likely delaying the release into 2015 as we'd have to wait for the target to be hit before starting the manufacturing process. As far as we're concerned, we won't do this. It's unfair to delay the release by that much for the OST. We'd need to hit, give or take, at least 65 ultimate edition sales to close that target gap.

So what are our options?

One option is we look into releasing the soundtrack separately. This may be incredibly tricky because we hear there is a potential licensing deal on for European distribution. This means that besides being tricky and potentially toe-stepping, it could increase the cost of this venture as it'd be limited to the UK only. Another option is to find some way of guaranteeing a minimum pledge amount that bridges the gap and allows us, in good financial faith (and sense!) to go ahead and produce the OST to complete the ultimate edition - without having to do a whole new Kickstarter! This is a lot trickier than you'd think. For example, one way we could do this is if we were to see enough orders via Amazon or our shop this coming week or so this could bridge the gap enough to go ahead and add the OST.

We're investigating options and are open to suggestions - but as it all stands now, while we REALLY want to include it, we can't in good faith say we're going ahead with it if we can't afford it. The crux of the matter is we're a small company trying to make awesome releases in a way that doesn't bankrupt us! We've still got a few days of payment collection from Kickstarter so this may all change. We prefer to be as upfront and honest with you guys from the start - we don't like to over-promise and under-deliver, it's not fair to you guys and it makes us feel icky.

Anything else?

Why yes! As we announced a week or so ago, there are quite a few OurScreen pages up now campaigning for local screenings of Patema Inverted throughout the UK. OurScreen is a platform set up by Picturehouse cinemas to allow fans of films not normally screened to campaign for a screening. We added Patema Inverted to OurScreen and 5 screenings have already been set up by fans!

The screenings include the Liverpool FACT, Duke's at KOMEDIA in Brighton, Cinema City in Norwich, The Little Theatre Cinema in Bath and the Harbour Lights Picturehouse in Southampton. To check out any of these screenings or to set up your own campaign, please click here https://www.ourscreen.com/film-details/10193.

We'll be back with an update in a few days with some more information and some news. In the meantime, as ever, questions, comments and considerations in the comments section below!

The bit I highlighted in blue seems to be the best option for the OST situation. Since Amazon can allow international folks to buy stuff on their service (not always), this could mean that folks in territories that weren't able to donate via Kickstarter could just buy the set on Amazon version and help out. Territories like Australia and North America could have a good impact on the UE sales. Unless however the product is restricted from them.

Am I the only one who missed the announcement that AL have Fate/Kaleid? When was that announced?

Also is the blu ray only release Samurai Flamenco or do you mean another on top of that? :)

It was confirmed in an interview posted today, here's the announcement: http://www.uk-anime.net/newsitem/Anime_ ... Illya.html

I think the blu ray only release will be an older title due to some bits Andrew said in this interview: http://www.uk-anime.net/articles/Andrew ... ee%29.html

Some news on Animax and new titles:

In short, the streaming site's previous exclusivity deal with Viz Media Europe is no more, allowing the service to pursue other simulcasts, particularly those previously locked to North America from FUNimation Entertainment. Thus, the following series will soon be arriving on Animax UK:

- Daimidaler: Prince Vs. Penguin Empire
- Riddle Story of Devil
- Selector Infected WIXOSS
- Dragonar Academy
- Fairy Tail

If this isn't enough, both new and existing subscribers will see Animax UK's monthly cost drop from its previous price of £5.99 to just £4.99.

Okay, finally finished reading that article.
I'm happy with pretty much everything that was said and very excited to hear about some of the plans you have in terms of packaging etc

But, after reading the section about Samurai Flamenco, I do hope you continue to release 'collectors editions' on DVD as well. Now, I mainly buy DVDs because my eyesight is horrendous and unless the DVD is the quality of End of Evangelion then I honestly can't tell the difference. I like the packaging that you do and if it's a series that I must have, then I'm happy with buying series in parts. The only time I wait for the cheap amaray complete collection releases, is if it's a series that I'm not sure I'd like. But, obviously I am a small minority....but thought I'd voice my opinions ^^'

Nope - but not due to lack of trying. I'm waiting on the licensor to reply to our format and release - so I'd hope very very soon!
