That's the new Cardcaptor Sakura blu ray release by NIS America. Sailor Moon never had a dub by Animax Asia and is definitely getting redubbed by Viz.
Gah, I'm an idiot. An idiot with a persistent headache right now which isn't helping much..

ConanThe3rd said:
Sailor Moon is a Viz joint so that means the first port of call is Kaze and Animax (UK) and that will utterly bury Sailor Moon in ways that MVM of 2001 could only dream of.
A Viz Media US license does not mean a Kaze license. If it was a ShoPro title, maybe, but it's not.

As for Haganai that was one of the titles I was hoping someone would announce at MCM, its out on blu in Australia
FUNimation has rights for UK/IE and AU/NZ for at least the first season (for streaming at least) and the Madman cases had a FUNi logo on which puts the ball in Manga's court. Like Shuffle it seems like they have passed on it? It possibly doesn't help that Madman's S1 discs are NTSC according to their website.

You can watch Shuffle! in the UK legally on YouTube and Viewster so FUNimation have the UK license. Manga have said a couple of times that they are not interested.

Ooh, first time I get to use purple on my spreadsheet (Red for ub-only, blue for NTSC).

Do you know if AoL takes the money right away or just when they send?
They do take the money right away, sadly enough.
They should really look into implementing the pending-system as when I pre-ordered with Zavvi they didn't take the money right away.
They did, before they were hacked and both my credit and debit cards got used. They may have decided it is best not to keep a permanent record of payment details at all.... since then all orders I have placed have been through PayPal which always means immediate payment anyway.
I remember years ago it seemed like they typed your card details into one of those card readers as you got a "cardholder not present" receipt stapled to your invoice.

The dub was fine in episode 23, the first half of which I watched in English.

Had another look just now, and the lip sync for the English dub isn't all that great, which doesn't help. The one way to check is if the foley is in time with the on screen action, and the audio does get a smidge ahead of the action in the English dub at the second half of episode 1. I've seen worse though.

Urgh, I wish someone would license this show soooo bad ! It's not like it would be a risky sell. If not I'd rather they crushed my hopes now :(

Got my copy of Outlaw Star today. Not a fan of the case. Could be susceptible to loose discs (mine had one) and there's a lethal sharp bit of plastic inside the case (that's obviously used for the red security bar that places like HMV use) and could scratch a disc.
I've only watched a little bit of Episode 1 despite having it a week, but does the English dub seem slightly out of sync to you?

About 10 minutes into episode 1 in English and the audio / sound effects are ahead of the picture.
Could this be a curse of using the upgraded video? Not sure if it could be related.

At 7:37 when he fires the gun it's blatantly ahead of the video. Japan audio is perfectly in sync.

That's a shame since lip-syncing is one of my pet peeves. They did say the dub audio had to be resynced. Annoying since this really should have been caught in QC. I hope the rest of the episodes aren't like that.

Thanks for the trace, someone mentioned on Twitter with no time details really! We did comb this pretty meticulously so off top of head at pre 2AM I'm unsure what the background is. I'll dig into it at start of the week but if it is there it clearly wasn't exceptionally noticeable given we did go through every episode in both languages...

Will check it out and get back to folks - should definitely be nowhere else.

Re DVD menu - not super happy myself nor is the authoring house so we've switched menu designers since then for products via that house. They did Perfect Blue too and you can tell the menu differences!

In fairness, the dub is from the 90s and as pointed out - lip sync isn't great so it can be very very hard to work out so that's likely what happened there. I'd be interested to hear if it's any other episodes as they were checked and gaps in audio fixed etc.

Also we can and have got it right before - you just don't hear people going "MAN, THAT DISC WAS JUST RIGHT!" as much as when there's a problem ;).

They've answered questions which were asking after a haganai license before, but the questions have always mentioned something else as well, which has enabled them to give an answer to that and thus avoid saying anything about haganai. Someone should just ask them straight out, and in a situation like at an expo where they can't just not pick to answer that question as they can on social media sites/podcasts. Even an answer along the lines of 'we can't give any details' would tell us that they haven't ruled it out. And even a 'not interested' style of response would at least give us something definite.

Sorry, I didn't want to be nitpicky. It's not really noticeable unless you are looking for it. It's more the sound effects than the lip flaps I picked up on. The Japanese side is great though.

Been trying to find my old US Bandai set to see what the sync is like on that, seems I've stashed it away somewhere and I'm not quite sure where :?

No problem - it's good to know though! If the lip flaps aren't noticeable then at least the experience shouldn't be ruined too :). I'll look into it anyway here but sounds like just a combo of very old dub and resyncing to new video being a nightmare. Having watched it all I don't believe it happens anywhere else (as ever I await being told I'm wrong though ;P)!
