But then there are also things like the Gurren Lagann Ultimate Edition, which is pretty premium. That will be followed by regular editions a few months after release though.

With Madoka, they did release the series in regular bare-bones sets for people who didn't want the premium, so as I said in my previous post, both sides of the fence got an option (although it would have been cool if they didn't break it up into three sets but as Sword Art Online shown, we'd probably end up being tied down by their release method in some way anyway).

Yes a premium set at a value of around £100 for 26 episodes, two movies and art book etc etc. I've pre-ordered this at £80odd myself due to the fact it's cracking value for money. £120+ for 12 episodes, OST and ar cards is not, but each to their own :)

Anyway, 2 Anime Limited title reveals coming today, anyone wanna guess at what they are? I assume they'll keep the biggest titles until Sunday. I have a feeling we will see Baccano today.

edit - Just got an email from Amazon saying TTGL BD set has been pushed pack to 1st September. :?

I do love how pretty special sets of anime series look, I see the odd one on UP1 from time to do but I'd never pay shed loads for random stuff I'm never going to use (as said before by Britguy) like posters and art cards which would just collect dust in a drawer somewhere.

Nice packaging and a booklet I agree with :)

It was leaked that someone has Royal Space Force: The Wings of Honneamise earlier this year right? I reckon that's one of their announcements.

Hoping for Baccano, big time.

Have all the anime forgot they're supposed to be announcing two titles today or have the delays that impact their releases spread to their pr too?

Ah yes, they have Wings of Honneamise! http://www.alltheanime.com/anime-limite ... onneamise/ Regular and Collectors Edition set for November 2014 release. Pre Orders going up next month.

YES! I knew they had it. Great film and recommended. Hopefully they can grab the Manga Ent. extras that Maiden Japan missed out.

Meanwhile Haruhi's up to something.

----EDIT----

BBFC Updates:
- Aesthetica of a Rogue Hero: Complete Series Collection earns a 15 for moderate sex references, nudity
- Girls und Panzer: OVA Collection earns a 12 for moderate sex references
- One Piece Strong World earns a 12 for moderate sex references, injury detail
- We Without Wings: Complete Series Collection earns an 18 for strong sexualised nudity [1-7], sex references [1-7], strong sex [8-12 + OVA], sexualised nudity [8-12 + OVA]

Time of Eve Kickstarter news in case anyone missed it, the dub is done. I repeat, the dub is done. Hopefully we'll get the discs by late July!

Dear Backers,

Earlier today Michael Sinterniklaas delivered the file for the English dub to Justin Sevakis. This is a major milestone, so we will pause a moment to celebrate.

YEAH!!!!

Schedule

Justin is now furiously authoring the Blu-ray. Here is the schedule we are aiming for:

May 24: *If* the authoring goes smoothly, Justin will ship the sample BD-R to Ann (me), and I will do a thorough quality check.

Week of June 2-6: *If* everything checks out perfectly for the sample Blu-ray, Justin will send the Blu-ray data to the replicators, Reel Pictures in San Diego.

June 9-July 7: Reel Pictures needs 20 days to replicate the Blu-ray and assemble the packaging. (This schedule counts July 4th as a national holiday).

Week of July 8-11: Reel Pictures will package the Blu-rays for shipment. Expected shipment dates:

US, Canada and all other non-EU territories will ship directly from Reel Pictures in San Diego by July 14th (providing that everything goes smoothly with the authoring).
EU territories (including the UK): Reel Pictures will express ship the the Blu-rays to Pied Piper's warehouse in the UK (located in the London area). It takes 3 to 5 days for the warehouse to process new inventory; realistically, Blu-rays will be shipped from the UK warehouse by July 28th. We know EU backers can't be pleased with this additional delay, but this is the only way we can ship to you locally within the EU (so that you don't have to worry about custom fees).
We will send updates as we clear each of the above steps.

Forging ahead…

Thank you for your patience^^Time of EVE/Ann

From what I've seen WWW barely has nudity at all, yet the BBFC description implies it has lots of it.....the BBFC must have rated it on an off day if you ask me

The new Sengoku Basara anime is confirmed for July.

This summer is going to be so loaded with my favourite shows that I'm going to struggle to do anything at all other than watch anime ^^;

The description merely implies there is at least 1 instance of each event thus causing the rating. Even if you have watched the entire thing via streaming it's not the same as an unedited/uncensored BD release, as they always up the ante on fan service.

Looks like Sword Art Online 2 will be airing via Crunchyroll in the UK beginning July 5th

Stand by for a scintillating summer season of anime as Sword Art Online II, the highly anticipated follow-up to one of anime’s biggest recent hits, is set to join the Crunchyroll lineup. Based on the light novels by Reji Kawahara and illustrated by abec, Sword Art Online II beings streaming on Crunchyroll on July 5th. Please make a note of it! In the meantime, to get yourself up to speed, you can watch previous episodes of Sword Art Online here on Crunchyroll!

1 year after the SAO incident, Kirito is approached by Seijiro Kikuoka from Japan’s Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications Department “VR Division” with a rather peculiar request.

That was an investigation on the “Death Gun” incident that occurred in the gun and steel filled VRMMO called Gun Gale Online (GGO). “Players who are shot by a mysterious avatar with a jet black gun lose their lives even in the real world…” Failing to turn down Kikuoka’s bizarre request, Kirito logs in to GGO even though he is not completely convinced that the virtual world could physically affect the real world.

Kirito wanders in an unfamiliar world in order to gain any clues about the “Death Gun.” Then, a female sniper named Sinon who owns a gigantic “Hecate II” rifle extends Kirito a helping hand. With Sinon’s help, Kirito decides to enter the “Bullet of Bullets,” a large tournament to choose the most powerful gunner within the realm of GGO, in hopes to become the target of the “Death Gun” and make direct contact with the mysterious avatar.

Sword Art Online II will be available to Crunchyroll users in the following territories: U.S., Canada, Australia, New Zealand, U.K., Ireland, Latin American Countries, Europe (excluding German & French speaking countries), Asia (excluding China, Korea, Taiwan).

Was that a "they do not handle them because they personally don't want to" or "they don't want to handle them as it clearly means they aren't authorised UK releases"?

That they would only sell what clearly had a BBFC rating on the cover.

It would have the rating on the cover though (it's required to). People just want it moved off the spine where there's actually no requirement to have it anyway in this case. It would reduce the number of clashing logos which swarm all over the covers of UK releases and make them look cheap.

Considering High School DxD got away with a 15, I'm very intrigued in We Without Wings now, just to see what warranted an 18 xD

I also think it should be law for multiple releases in the same franchise to have matching spines *glares at MangaUK's Strike Witches DVDs and the Marvel Cinematic Universe blu-rays*.

Can I add MVM's spine as another glare? They keep using different designs for the spines for the past two years.

I think the ultimate in spine design for 'the designer got really stoned' is Manga UK's xxxholic release. Its scary that someone got paid to do that...

What's more scary is that they couldn't even get part 2 to match part 1.
