@Agent347 Thanks to our new deal, we have plans for lots of our older and newer titles to upgrade to BD. More news at MCM in May.

I really hope they don't 'bite off more than they can chew' if you get what I mean. Some titles just won't sell well on DVD, let alone BD and where I believe BD should be the norm some titles are a big risk for small companies.. for example.. We Without Wings. Unless their deal is better then I'm presuming. I love what MVM are doing nowadays, they're getting titles I want to buy so I want them to stay around ya'know.
Am I just being a negative nancy? maybe..

On a lighter note, hopefully we get Samurai Champloo and Berserk upgrades, there the ones I would like the most.

Don't worry we won't be doing everything on BD. If something didn't sell well on DVD it certainly wouldn't fare much better for BD. We'll be concentrating on our newer titles and some of the older ones that have sold well. Our most requested titles in terms of older series are Samurai Champloo, Berserk, Ergo Proxy, Fate/Stay Night and Paranoia Agent. So we'd love to have all these done by the end of the year but we'll see what happens.

No doubt we'll have more details at MCM Comic Con in May.

Unfortunately because of the US problems we've had to inevitably delay Sankarea as well. New date is now 27th October.

Not your guys fault! It's cool.
Cheers for keeping us informed and frequenting the forums/social media a lot more lately :)

I visit daily but tend to post when need be haha.

Thanks for the response! Would love to see those get upgrades. I'm surprised to see Fate/Stay Night there though, just because many dislike it but with what appears to be the success of your Fate/Zero release, it'd no doubt it'd increase sales of the older series.

I'll be looking forward to what happens at the Expo :3

Now you've done it, now people an aware of that, questions will be thrown at you left, right and center ;)

I'm at work so i can't get this posted properly so i hope the likes of josh and co can for me. Anime Limited are doing a kickstarter, starting i believe on wednesday? For Patema Inverted Ultimate edition. The draft project page is available here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/al ... n=4d17b4d0

I'm quite happy with this approach i will be honest. it's a good way to gauge interest and demand. I knew it would still be a very western thing, but if it means we get more nice things over here, i can dabble in it fine.

I don't believe this affects the general release, just more of a collectors edition? Andrew rescue me here XD

Nice Kickstarter. I'd probably back the Ultimate Edition tier. I'll wait for it to go live before confirming though. The KS is to fund the production of teh Ultimate Edition, I can dig it, if it fails I assume teh standard collectors edition will just be released instead.

Makes me laugh that we have all the art and details for this which won't be out until September, but none for TTGL :p

Hey!

It starts on Friday all going well - it's in for approval now but we want to give people time to absorb and feedback before it does launch all going well :).

The basics are really simple:

- We'd be doing a Regular Amaray combi & Tiger & Bunny: The Beginning style collectors release anyway.

- What we want though is to deliver a definitive edition version where possible with a film and Kickstarter allows us to offer it at a price that make sense to fans.

- Buying the regular two releases on KS too will guarantee faster arrival than retail too - so you'll get it in advance of anyone ordering via regular channels later.

So it's an experiment as doing it this way gives more money back to Anime Limited / Yoshiura-san to make an awesome release and to show it's a success. Hopefully it gels with people as a model anyway :).

Hope this helps!

Andrew

Ironic though but it's due to us being bogged down in approvals - the GL committee is exceptionally strict so we have to fight over a lot of points I'm afraid. I'll have an update very soon I hope!

Andrew

5 weeks between now and release date though, i'm assuming a delay will unfortunately have to come in to effect?

edit - posted my comments on the kickstarter but i'll post it here again

Great kickstarter, price for Ultimate Edition is a bargain i'll definitely be backing at that Tier.

In the "The Rewards" section, having the guide book listed as #5 caused some confusion with me at first as it made it look like it was a seperate reward/tier, and only upon looking at the pledge area did I see this was included in the UE.

Also you have put the guidebook as #5 and the quad poster as #5

I'd love to back £75 just so that I could be listed as an Associate Producer, but not having a job sucks.

I wonder how Mayo Chiki performed? Because Sentai are doing a Dub + BD upgraded release in America. Maybe MVM could do the same?

It did fairly well for us. We're aware of it being dubbed and are certainly interested in releasing it on BD with the dub. We might have more details at MCM Comic Con at May.
I actually bought the sub-only DVD from your booth last May. If you release it on BD with the dub, I'll most likely pick it up =3.

I see what you're saying, but on the other hand the DVD may not have sold well because people were waiting for the Blu-ray.

Fate/Zero part 1 collectors edition BR #4571 on amazon, DVD #2166
Fairy Tail part 7 BR #10137 DVD #1595
Madoka Magica BR #5435 DVD #3986

This is depressing me somehow.

Edit: Ooh I found an exception:
Girls und Panzer BR #1760 DVD #6252

Samarai Champloo may do well, but it's been available cheaply from Funimation via an AB Bluray for years. Fate/Stay Night on the other hand is just a waste of time on BD when you consider how bad it is, and the fact that the BD is a pretty underwhelming 1080i one. (and honestly, it's probably for the best that you just wait until the time comes to release Ufotable's Fate/Stay Night project)
I think your best bet would be authoring BDs for titles which don't have BD releases in English Speaking territories yet - like Berserk, Ergo Proxy and Paranoia Agent.

I'll tell you now Andrew, I'm backing that Ultimate edition. It may be a silly question, but will the artwork for the standard edition be on the reverse of the Ultimate Edition box (Or anywhere else in the Ult ed)?
I really love that artwork.

Two things have swayed me onto the Ultimate Edition.

1) The book looks really appealing with some quite substantial stuff packed in. For £35/40, that's great value.

2) Patema Inverted is bloody brilliant.

So yeah, I'm in.

Also I notice that Crowd Production is mentioned in the draft. Having kept an eye on Bubblegum Crisis which seems to have had some...issues with their take on Crowd Production, hopefully this one will not end up in a similar kerfuffle. I'd be fine if the campaign follows the format of just voting for stretch goals like with Mai Mai Miracle if they do go through with it (My preference is and always will be fixed stretch goals though!).

Andrew

The Ultimate Edition looks fantastic, but it really needs to include the art of the regular edition somewhere. Maybe on the front of the Digipack instead of the guy in the field.

Noted - will see what we can use that artwork for - got a few surprises on the cooker for stretches though so watch this space!

Best,

Andrew
