MVM to release Another on BD on June 23rd: tweet.
Will it have the OVA

If you're referring to Episode 0 then it won't. The MVM release should (by guess) be using the Sentai discs which were used for Hanabee's release.

It's possible (by guess) for Sentai to get the license for Episode 0 and release it standalone like they did with H.O.T.D. Drifters of the Dead.

I'll be awaiting the reviews for the UK BD release before I decide on whether I should pick it up (I'm not fussed over carried on errors i.e. the missing English sentence in the final episode). The same goes for Fate/Zero.

Considering manga's attitude towards upscales, the chance of a strike witches BD release over here is a big fat zero.
That was before their BD costs came down, so it could be worth sounding them out again.
MVM of all people now seem open to BD upscale re-releases.

MVM won't be using Sentai's discs (unless Sentai have kindly done a later printing with BBFC logos on the discs). The reason the Another BDs were cancelled in the first place was Hanabee importing the Sentai discs.

You're right. Silly me, I meant to say the content on the Sentai discs to be the same as the UK but disc-wise of course MVM will have their own discs (thanks to their new deal with someone).

That's good to see, but I already have the DVD version so it will be a while before I can justify double dipping on this. I'm sure I'll upgrade at some point though (which reminds me I still need to upgrade FLCL to BD).

Anime Limited have revealed that the dubbing of Mai Mai Miracle will begin at NYAV Post next month, pending approval of the dub script. Also, they were unable to obtain the rights to the original soundtrack, but all extra money they made following the clearing of the more recent stretch goal will go to improving the packaging.

Yeah just read that myself, shame about the OST but ooking forward to seeing what the packaging will look like (now all we need is a TTGL update....)

@Agent347 Thanks to our new deal, we have plans for lots of our older and newer titles to upgrade to BD. More news at MCM in May.

I really hope they don't 'bite off more than they can chew' if you get what I mean. Some titles just won't sell well on DVD, let alone BD and where I believe BD should be the norm some titles are a big risk for small companies.. for example.. We Without Wings. Unless their deal is better then I'm presuming. I love what MVM are doing nowadays, they're getting titles I want to buy so I want them to stay around ya'know.
Am I just being a negative nancy? maybe..

On a lighter note, hopefully we get Samurai Champloo and Berserk upgrades, there the ones I would like the most.

I wonder how Mayo Chiki performed? Because Sentai are doing a Dub + BD upgraded release in America. Maybe MVM could do the same?

MVM would be using the sentai masters to replicate their discs from as they're A+B, so you did phrase what you originally said slightly incorrectly.

A new license has possibly been announced and is coming from Anime Limited, I'll put spoiler tags on the title in case people want to save it for the big announcement:

Giovanni No Shima - A theatrical film from Production I.G. released back in February 2014. AL responded to a tweet when someone asked this

Other additional AL details:
- Mai Mai Miracle news 'next week on'
- Kill la Kill will be available on Blu-ray when it's ready for retail
- Patema Inverted news this week. In addition, the set will include both the English & Japanese dubs, Cast announcement(s) within the first half of May

Good news on the Kill La Kill coming to blu ray. By the way if I was to guess a rating for it, I would say 15 is a sound bet, yes it has fan service but nothing that extreme, other than the dodgy actions of Ragyo Kiryuin which pose the only issue.

Outlaw Star news:
Anime Limited said:
Manly tears today, we signed off on the DDP for Outlaw Star. Meaning when uploaded at start of next week - it's off to replication! (AP)
I take it this is DDP as in Disc Decryption Protocol, which means I can only say one thing: FIN_AL_LEE! (Bad pun intended)

This doesn't mean I'm not disappointed by the lack of news we've had this week (so far), where are all the promised pieces of news/updates?!

@Agent347 If Siren haven't done it on BD yet, chances are we won't either. BUT...the collection isn't due yet so #NeverSayNever
This is about Needless, this is at the top of my list of titles I want to see upgraded by MVM Entertainment to BD.

Their reply was in regards to a title that does have an US Blu-Ray release, but region A only, and no BD of it has been released in Australia as of yet.
So I think MVM's reply extends to ANY title not given the Blu-Ray treatment in Australia (or even in the US).
I REALLY hope they can arrange something for both Needless and Heaven's Memo Pad though. I'm really upset with my status of "not owning" those two, next to Clannad.

I have in the past been really unlucky by the choices of which titles get the BD treatment by MVM, still hope for some luck.
Another was supposed to be the first MVM BD I really wanted to get, that has shuffled to Fate/Zero now, which reminds me I still need to confirm my pre-order. xD Oops. xD

I think they'll announce upgrades for about 5 titles at MCM for August to December. (Inevitably incl. Samurai Champloo & Mayo Chiki)

Imported the US release when they announced they had cancelled the BD initially last summer.
Nobody makes me a personal promise and simply gets away with it unpunished when not fulfilling it over something I was looking forward to get a lot. Sorry.
I'm glad to hear it's now going to happen anyway, kudos to you guys at MVM! ^_^ Cannot afford double dipping on this one for the time being. Maybe in a few years I can!

To comment on Sentai Filmworks August 2014 Solicitations:
- [DUB+SUB] 05 August 2014 — DVD & BLU-RAY — Short Peace: Complete Collection
- [DUB+SUB] 12 August 2014 — DVD & BLU-RAY — From the New World: Collection 2
- [DUB+SUB] 19 August 2014 — DVD & BLU-RAY — Mayo Chiki: Complete Collection
- [DUB+SUB] 26 August 2014 — DVD & BLU-RAY — Watamote: Complete Collection
All titles that received a dub this month seem somewhat interesting.
I'll be awaiting the complete UK collection for From the New World, I will await news on MVM's upgrade for Mayo Chiki which must be inevitable and I hope MVM will release Watamote on BD.
Also, releasing Watamote on 26 august is a splendid choice by Sentai. :3 I hope the series fits me as much as I anticipate it will, like Chu2Koi.

- [SUB-only] 05 August 2014 — DVD & BLU-RAY — Love Lab: Complete Collection
- [SUB-only] 05 August 2014 — BLU-RAY ONLY — Yuyushiki: Complete Collection
- [SUB-only] 12 August 2014 — DVD & BLU-RAY — Fantasista Doll: Complete Collection
- [SUB-only] 26 August 2014 — DVD & BLU-RAY — Kinmoza!: Complete Collection
- [SUB-only] 26 August 2014 — DVD & BLU-RAY — Uta no Prince Sama 2000%: Complete Collection
I'm a bit surprised by the sub-only for Love Lab, and think I previously stated it for Yuyushiki as well.. Ahh well, it's not as big of a deal to me like Pet Girl of Sakurasou and Henneko.
At the moment of speaking I have zero plans to watch Fantasista Doll or Uta no Prince Sama, even if they had gotten dubbed. Love Lab is a plausible watch-through and Yuyushiki as well.

As for Kiniro Mosaic, I watched it subbed last year and kind of thought it would be hard to dub appropiately given the British-Japanese bond which would evaporate when dubbed to British English-American English...
Kiniro Mosaic BD is being released on my birthday, YAY. Sad it's going to be authored on one disc though. I can't recall there being a lot of dark scenes, so I expect softness.
One part of me hopes this show gets an UK Blu-Ray release, but I'm afraid chances are slim. Andrew? Tony? Jerome? #KinMoza

To make a few small comments on other pieces of news from the past week:
- Sankarea: I am already really annoyed by the lack of updates, I expect the UK release to get bumped back another 4 to 6 months as well.
- Railgun S dub cast: I'll judge for myself somewhere in the next 16 years.
- Evangelion 3.33: -_-"
- Heaven's Lost Property packaging: >_< Are you /*salsa/* kidding me?!
- Fr4me case: I don't dislike it, but finding a property enough people would want to show off would prove difficult. So I'd play it safe and not use it.
- Giovanni No Shima: Not sure it's something for me. I might give it a chance in the long term, but it's not a title I anticipate being great.

Unfortunately because of the US problems we've had to inevitably delay Sankarea as well. New date is now 27th October.

It did fairly well for us. We're aware of it being dubbed and are certainly interested in releasing it on BD with the dub. We might have more details at MCM Comic Con at May.
