Don't know if this is of interest to anyone, or indeed, if it has been posted before, but there will be a Miyazaki Blu-Ray set coming out in Japan during June this year which will include Spirited Away and The Wind Rises

Spirited Away was the first Ghibli movie I saw and as such it is one of my favourites, so this will likely mean a UK release should be coming this year or early next.

hnnnngh, that's like, really damn pretty. want. i own some of these already though so it's like, would i really want two of the same thing just so i can have the pretty???? i don't know! :( haha.

As said above the next titles Spirited Away and The Wind Rises are coming to Blu-ray soon in Japan, but here's the thing: They both have English Subtitles and the English Dub.

Wind Rises is out in June 2014, with Spritied Away arriving a month later. A re-release of Castle of Cagliostro is arriving in August.

Miyazaki JP Collection also includes: Lupin the 3rd: The Castle of Cagliostro <Digitally Remastered>, Yuki's Sun pilot film, Akado Suzunosuke (TV episodes 26-27, 41), On Your Mark & Hayao Miyazaki's retirement conference uncut.

BD Collection costs 60,000 Yen aka £348.66 (based on Google stats).
DVD Collection costs 40,000 Yen aka £232.44 (based on Google stats).

Oh, and if anyone waited for the fixed version for the artbox in Psycho-Pass's Premium set. Yeah, it's worse than the original version because apparently the blu-ray cases can't fit in well.

Wind Rises? :O I haven't heard of that until now! :(

I've just had a read and it sounds beautiful. I also have no objections whatsoever to Joseph Gordon Levitt doing the dub either :)

I sort of wish I'd accepted the sloping one now... :/

KIX (Sky 627) has been showing Dragon Ball Z Kai repeatedly for a while now, but has replaced Digimon Savers with Bakugan & Yu-Gi-Oh! GX. In case anyone is interested?

Soooo... has Outlaw Star been pushed back another couple of weeks? Amazon have emailed to tell me not to expect it until early May, and now have a 5th May release date.

If you want it with errors, let me know and I'll ship you a copy now!

Sorry on this front but I know I'm going to get flack for whatever we do there so I prefer to get it right. Basically it's what we learned and why a lot of our Q3 and Q4 line-up is not locked down on Amazon now until we have materials in hand and in authoring :).

Speak soon,

Andrew

No flak from these quarters. At this point I'm numb to the disappointment O_O

In all seriousness, it is actually heartening to see a western anime distributor showing a commitment to quality control. There's been far too little of it in recent years.

Kinda numb to it too -want to get this project out the door so we can focus on new projects!

Andrew

Hey, if it stops problems I'd rather it be delayed. I appreciate the dedication to Anime Limited/Andrew for getting it right.
Really looking forward to your Q3/Q4 releases. You have some great shows/films I'm really excited for and happy they're in the right hands for making sure they're great releases.

I'm going to re-iterate what I suggested back in the AoD days - you should employ the Montgomery Scott technique and massively pad your release dates. If everything does go to plan you can release 'early' and look like a miracle worker :)

Speak soon,

Andrew

I'm speechless, Andrew, I really am.

I'm almost willing to take the error filled, Punji Stick Hole that apparently exists instead of Outlaw Star at this point!

How non-existent is AoD's QC that you keep finding errors weeks away from go time? Do they just magically pop out from the world of OZ every time someone sneezes?

I'm all for QC, it's a brilliant thing, but there's QC and there's what's happening here and we're really going to see a November '15 release for this at the rate we're going and god help you if this happens to Gurren Lagann or Mai Mai Miracle.

As it stands, the order's cancelled and I might pick it up one day when I'm feeling like it. If I'm lucky that will be when you have finally gotten it out.

Fair enough - I can see I'm not going to change your mind on it :).

For those who are interested though - the issues are when you end up having to use new masters that need subtitles re-timed or audio re-synched it can take a lot longer. We scheduled it sooner than was ideal and like Bebop learned a lot from it.

Gurren is about to undergo QC for English (adding the sign track atm but will QC what we have so far). Mai Mai is no likely to have such problems as it is a film thus infinitely shorter so less can go wrong and it's easier fixed.

Kudos for the decision and hope the above makes sense for everyone else :).

Very best,

Andrew
PS Your accusation of new QC errors is misguided - it's the same one but as we'd had to return the assets for Sunrise getting a patch has taken a long time on it. So it's not "new" errors, it's something we've been working on for a while.

I just want to double check Andrew (especially after the statement Manga UK made a few weeks back), is Outlaw Star & Nerima going to be NTSC?
