The people at Starz sound like noobs, most definitely. I don't think Jerome is telling lies on the matter of NTSC discs to fool us.
IIRC he didn't want to be drawn on the matter at all, only said that Japan weren't to blame this time.

Funimation USA Classic Line version of Is This A Zombie? doesn't include the OVA on Blu-ray and also has locked subtitles.
How big is the chance that it'll get included with the second season BD whenever that gets greenlit? It is not that I consider lacking OVAs a dealbreaker, I own Another on BD without episode 0 and don't own Love Hina Again (though I'd like to acquire that). However, if it really is region A only I'll not be able to watch this show through legal means, unless MVM decide to upgrade it to BD as well.
Buying a region-free BD player and importing the US release is illegal now?

Missed out on the Bleach Box Set I? UP1 have appeared to list the set for an October 2014 release.
Box Set I includes volumes 1 to 18.

The previous version had the first 21 volumes but went out of print along with the entire Naruto Part 1 box set and Dragon Ball box set.

Bakuman (Complete Set), Death Note (Complete Set), Fullmetal Alchemist (Complete Set), One Piece: Box Set I, Ouran High School Host Club (Complete Set) & Vampire Knight: Box Set I are still in print. Blackbird (Complete Set), One Piece: Box Set II & Vampire Knight: Box Set II will be released at the end of the year.

--------------------
In BBFC land, the first half of Fate/Zero gains a 15 for strong bloody violence (aside from 10-13 which gets moderate threat & violence) and the second disc of Chrome Shelled Regios earns a 12 for moderate violence and sex references.

Anime Limited will be at the MCM COmic Con in Ireland in April

Hopefully that means we'll hear about the Q3 titles there :excited:
I hope Andrew's going to reveal some Q3 titles in the 3 weeks leading up to MCM CC Dublin, like 2 or 3 smaller licences perhaps?
I have no idea how much Andrew has on the plate for Q3 though, I know Andrew reads this place frequently, so can you give us a "sum" of how things look now?
I mean, in January there were 10 unannounced tv licences & 7 unannounced movie licences, after which "Tiger & Bunny the Rising" & "Mai Mai Miracle" got announced.
How many of the left unannounced tv/movie licences will be for Q3? Just start teasing us with hints (dates, year of origin, studio, cast, sub/dub,...)! =P

UP1 claim it's A & B and it's out very soon so there should be some news regarding this title's region.
Alright, thanks for telling! ^_^ I'll now await more news.

>_<" You know... You missed one important word in the sentence: I.

And if you're suggesting me to get a multiregion BD player... I cannot afford that, sadly enough. I don't have a job, my money supplies are limited. And I won't have a job until late 2017 at best as things are looking up to be. It's really agonizing thinking about that given I want to support way more anime and like owning physical, legal copies,... It is complicated in some way, both being me and the situation as a whole.

To clear things up on the job subject, that's partly because I'm still in school. I will normally -if nothing goes awry- attend college in September for 3 years in the best case scenario, but it has been brought to my attention by a few students there that it's very likely going to take me -like many others- 4 years. I dread to think about how many anime I won't own in 2018 that I want(ed) to legally own and watch.

My current BD player is by the way a present from my dad a while back, so getting another device would basically be stabbing my dad in the back in my imagination.
I'll try to get a region free device if this one breaks down, but I hope that doesn't happen anytime soon.

Also, the second part of your response doesn't make sense at all given what I said in the original post. :p Re-read it. :p No hate towards you, just wanted to say this all. Have a nice day/night. ^_^

Could this affect Anime Limited's plans to get the first season [of Space Dandy] out this fall?
No impact - I plan to have pre-sales ready for MCM Expo anyway too :).

Best,

Andrew
Good to hear it won't affect the plans. ^_^

I was simply pointing out that the option of buying a multi-region player was a legal alternative, as you didn't mention that you couldn't afford one in the first post. Maybe I should have put a :p at the end to show that I wasn't attempting to interrogate you!

A lot of DVD-only in there. People must be avoiding the streams for those shows :(

Just Gatchaman Crowds for me, I guess - a cheap month! I'd have picked up SNAFU and Sasami-san if they had BDs but I don't care enough about either to risk a double dip, even though I have a recent crush on Eguchi Takuya.

R

Glad to see Flowers of Evil and Majestic Prince getting Blu-rays. Shame SNAFU doesn't get one too, it's an excellent series. Atlus getting in the way again with Devil Survivor 2?

There's still so much of their backlog I need to purchase (like Kokoro Connect). Being unemployed sure does suck.

Also, seems like Sentai still hasn't decided to license any of the To Love Ru OVAs.

Amazing in terms of titles, extremely disappointed in terms of format. I wanted to have SNAFU, Sasami-san@Ganbaranai & Yuyushiki on Blu-ray but now I can't because they're DVD only (considering they're NTSC doesn't mean I will avoid them but c'mon no BD?). I'm shocked that Problem Children gained a dub though, but that's cool since it will get some sales out of it. Flowers of Evil on Blu-ray in its position is perfectly fine for me since the rotoscope will probably make lip-syncing in the dub terrible. No surprise with Gatchaman Crowds earning a dub/Blu-ray and it's interesting that To Love Ru: Darkness finally gets it's release after being licensed for well over a year now, no sign of OVAs probably means they'll either release an OVA collection or were unable to pick them up.

For the August line-up, I should expect titles like Tamako Market and Watamote appearing at some point.

BBFC updated with a 15 for Chrome Shelled Regios based on the first disc over 'sexual assault scene'.

I'll definitely be grabbing CROWDS since I really enjoyed that series. I would love to have bought SNAFU and to a lesser extent DeSu2 but lolDVD in 2014. At least I won't feel bad about watching them another way now. I suppose I can always hope for a Sub Japanese BD Box.
Oh well, the less money that goes to Sentai the better in my mind. Their releases, and the treatment of upcoming titles has been pretty **** recently.
I wonder how many of the BD titles will be single disc... I'm not even going to bother with Henneko as much as I'd love to buy it.

Speaking of them, they picked up the volleyball SPORTS anime Haikyuu!!. I place sports in bold because apparently sports anime don't sell in English territories.

Manga UK Attack on Titan details
The Blu-ray Deluxe Collector’s Edition version will have:

Episodes 1-12 over 2 Blu-ray discs.
A bonus DVD disc containing over 100 minutes of bonus material.
A 24-page booklet.
A box cover that will be able to house both Part 1 and Part 2 when released.

The distributor intends to bring out the second half of the series before the end of 2014 but does not have a firm date yet.

Strange that they say box cover and not artbox or slip cover. I hope it's not the same thing as the box Fullmetal Alchemist brotherhood came in. Whether or not the box is rigid will probably determine whether I buy this or Funimations release. Since the US release has 13 episodes, it looks like the two companies didn't share BD discs.

MangaUK confirmed on Twitter that their volume 1 will have episodes 1-13 as well.
