Outlaw Star delay: I appreciate that Andrew is against releasing discs that have relatively minor faults when other distros happily release discs with mistimed subtitles, mono audio, and whatever else, and then go lalalalalala i can't hear youuuu when told about it. Having said that, it IS kind of ridiculous that these things keep getting found months after the original release date. Oh well, what's a few more weeks...

Not that it's fair - but that is a title that fell into the category of delay-central as part of the maelstrom of end of last year. That's kind of why the earlier delays crept in I am afraid.

Best,

It's possible they worked something out with Hanabee to get a BBFC logo on the disc, or the costs have come down enough that like Manga they can start putting more stuff on BD in general.
Since hanabee is stock sharing with sentai for that release, it's more likely that MVM are using masters supplied by sentai to replicate their own set since as those at manga stated that the costs of a BD release are less when there's a zone B master available (I have tweeted them asking if they are using the sentai masters on the release).

Couple new manga licenses from Viz for Assassination Classroom, Resident Evil and Jaco the Galactic Patrolman. As well as Master Keaton.

Will look forward to seeing how Assassination Classroom is and will pick up Master Keaton for definite since it's Urasawa (Yeah, he was only artist on it, but his art is lovely and Nagasaki was a writer on it and he co-plotted with Urasawa on his other work so I imagine it'll have a similar style).
About time Viz picked up AssClass.

We could all do with a bit of AssClass in our lives.

Not sure if anyone has noted this yet, but the UK BD release of K looks set to be another **** quality one from Khazi.
It's listed as a 3 disc combo pack, so naturally it's safe to assume 1BD 2DVD. It's pretty ridiculous, especially when you compare it with the US release which comes in an Artbox, with an Artbook, and has all the episodes and extras on two BD50s.

On the other side of things, Viz Media in the US have taken on board feedback from fans and implemented some changes with Accel World Part 2.
Subtitles are still locked, however they've finally added a Songs/Signs subtitle track allowing you to choose from English Dub Only/English Dub with Signs/Songs track/English Dub with Full subs/Jap Dub with Full subs. There's also options to view creditless OP/EDs with English/Romanji/No subs, something which I feel the likes of Funimation and Sentai should be doing with their sub locked releases.

It's nice to see that the US arm of Viz Media actually interacts with and listens to the fans, rather than continuing to churn out **** and ignoring them like someone.

Sounds like good news, but I can't help but feel that most of that should of been standard for years

Latest News:
- Checked out the All the Anime site earlier today, looks great and I like the secret announcements from the catalog section (KlK, T&B: Rising etc.). Just to clarify Nerima never got the Blu-ray treatment in Japan (same situation as Outlaw Star).
- With about 25 hours to go, Mai Mai Miracle Kickstarter is nearly reaching $100,000 with $98,158 from 1,737 backers.
- Crunchyroll add 4 more Manga titles; Investor Z, Memoirs of Amorous Gentlemen, Buffalo 5 Girls & The Diary of Ochibi-san.
- Space Dandy will finish in April, as the Japanese timeslot is being replaced by the TV re-edit of Broken Blade (also known as Break Blade).
- Alongside the announcement of AssClass that was made earlier, Viz Media did also announce a second box set of One Piece featuring the third & fourth arcs (Skypeia & Water 7 ~ Volumes 24 to 46) & Strong World mini-comic for a November 2014 date.
- Kenichi the Mightiest Disciple's upcoming OVA is in fact a new OVA series with 11 episodes. The TV versions will be editied due to the broadcast limit.

Latest Rumour News:
- One Piece: Film Z is still rumoured for the July release in NA & AU with people speculating it's going to be announced at Anime Boston (via Madman spokesman & Fandom Post).
- Sentai Filmworks said Log Horizon will get the 'full treatment' i.e. the English dub, but who knows.

And here's a pic of the whole Madoka: Rebellion LE BD Import set.

This week's Kill La Kill delay is...

24 hours...

*Status Update*
Kill la Kill #21 to air tomorrow at http://Wakanim.co.uk
+
Download to own update!

Hi everyone. We have some news from Wakanim HQ for you. First of all, unfortunately Kill la Kill episode #21 has been pushed back until tomorrow. We've yet to receive video assets for the episode so our hands are tied with this. Obviously we'll keep you updated on this. Many apologies for the inconvenience on this.
(We appreciate this has been a regular occurrence of late but it is a situation beyond our control.)

In lighter news though we have an update on the Download To Own functionality on the website and some big breaking news for you!

Following on from the news last week, we're happy to confirm that Anime Limited have secured all UK rights for Kill la Kill and will be offering the entire series to download through the premium service of http://Wakanim.co.uk in the very near future.
We'll have more details on this soon but needless to say we're very excited by this news!

By us saying all UK rights, this includes a home entertainment release for the title in the future! We're unable to confirm formats at this time but they'll be sure to give you all the juicy information on this as soon as they can.

Not ideal I know - but basically as a show gets later sometimes the materials become later too. If we only get the video now there is no way the USA will send the subs in time to upload so we get caught - it may well not be 24 hours but I like to put a time that gives wide room - means if it's earlier, great. If not then we're not being flayed alive for having to delay AGAIN.

Know it doesn't make anyone happy but we're not either! Future solution is to run subs ourselves so whatever happens we get it on time.

It's not really a major issue with Kill La Kill, as has been noted before, when it's delayed on Wakanim, it's delayed on CR an Daisuki as well.

I think it was beyond obvious that Kill la Kill was going to be released in multiple parts - no new anime that's more than a single cour has had its entirety released at once that I recall other than Lucky Star (and how long ago was that?). Knowing Aniplex though, they will probably split Kill la Kill into four DVD/BD volumes.
