Are the novels that bad? I didn't think the series was that great, but lets be fair it wouldnt be the first poor adaptation of reasonably decent source material!

The show sold far too well to not get a sequel. The most interesting comment that I read there was the theory that a proper Japanese release of the Kindle might not be a mile away (a rumor that has floated around for years now, of course), and Media Factory/Kadokawa might want to start holding back a few series to release exclusively as eBooks.

The spines are just like a plain slab of color with the title in a really standard font. It looks kind of cool from a "I have my own library" point of view, but it's not like having a bunch of manga on a shelf, or having the covers facing front.

They finally started work on 5+ towards the end of last year. I think it was announced during one of the cons.
