Gurren Lagann: Ultimate Edition now up with a price. For SRP of £149.99 it's now £84.27.
That's the complete edition. I thought it was Ultimate > Complete BR > Complete DVD.

Amazon just haven't listed the details properly. Only one is launching in June and the other has an rrp of 60 so it's safe to assume this is the ultimate edition especially as there is a separate listing for the later blu ray release

Seems like Amazon is confusing people a bit, I'll just put this here in case people ask about which is which.

Gurren Lagann

Ultimate Edition - (£84.27 [SRP £149.99] as of 11/01) Blu-ray - Released 2nd June 2014
- Each one individually numbered and certified, only 2,000 printed.
- Hard rigid artbox, digipack inside storing all series.
- "As many of the video extras as All the Anime are permitted by the Japanese licensor."
- Gurren Lagann Film 1
- Gurren Lagann Film 2
- Parallel Works
- 50 page hardback artbook, "may expand that but it's based on what the licensor provides for now."

TV Series Edition - (£45.18 [SRP £59.99] as of 11/01) Blu-ray - Released 20th October 2014
- All 27 Episodes and just the TV series.
- Selected extras that came with the original release in the UK and USA

Standard Edition - (£28.37 [SRP £79.99] as of 11/01) DVD - Released 20th October 2014
- TV Series, Movies and Parallel Works included.
- 4 Art Cards.
- Rigid case.

Those who just buy the TV Series edition, All the Anime may find a way to put the movies and Parallel Works together for a reasonable price.

Andrew said it might be possible to allow the entire series to be available to stream online again (maybe on Wakanim UK for DTR & DTO). Crunchyroll has Gurren Lagann but for North America owners only.

If those art cards are using art that's not in the book, I hope they come with the UE as well. Would have preferred proper Blu-ray cases inside the art box rather than a digipack though.

Still waiting on Amazon to put up pre-orders for Fate/Zero.

Wow, that's quite a sizeable discount on offer by Amazon, seems like it'd be worth pre ordering now to lock that price in.

Honestly, if they had stated that as the going price when we had that whole todo then we could have avoided a whole load of pure nonsese now couldn't we?

And, If Andrew's paying attention.

I WOULD PAY SILLY MONEY TO GET GL DTO THROUGH WAKANIM FOR MY MEDIA CENTRE.

I thought the series was on iTunes, but I just went to check and it's no longer there. So maybe the rights are out there again?

Durarara Limited Edition BluRay is now also up with a price on Amazon. For SRP of £79.99 it's now £45.12. I was expecting something around the £60 mark, so I've put my preorder down.

Given that was Manga's doing, I'd say so.

Not really, all Anime Limited did was provide Amazon with the SRP. Amazon decided what to price the items at.

Yep - I state SRP because what Amazon chooses to price product at is pretty variable and if I say one price then it says the other then it gets difficult. So best to state SRP and let Amazon work their magic over the optimum price point.

Duly noted on iTunes et all too - we just retrieved the rights for Digital so watch this space there :).

Best,

Andrew

Same for me too. Hopefully there's some neat extras on disc.
I'm pretty sure Aniplex's release came with nothing but the NCOP/EDs. I seem to remember reading that they included JP commentary tracks but no translation for them, but I never changed the audio track so I don't know.
I suppose I'll bite with re-buying Durarara. I love the series and I'm more than happy to throw more money Andrew's way. Pre-ordered.

Well the upcoming release doesn't include the Japanese commentary (because there's no subtitles with the Aniplex release, from what I've noticed the American version was a direct replica of the Japanese version). In case you're wondering where I got the info from, it was from Siren Visual's Facebook page but I can't find the post.

Though I still can't find the source, it should include a sign/lyrics sub track for the English dub that the American version didn't have unless you're watching it for the Japanese dub.

EDIT: Found the source for the commentaries.
The publisher has confirmed that it won’t contain the Japanese audio commentaries as there are no English subtitles for them. They have further claimed that they have no plans to translate these themselves because “ they speak a million miles an hour and there’s too much room for error”.

Oh wow, Island Days.
