Shame Jin Roh on blu ain’t out till December though

I'm actually quite pissed off that Jin Roh won't get a BD til December, and I'm also pissed off that the UK version will never receive the treatment.

Yes, one forced DVD show done more to go!
So I can finally get this show. The cover art is as bad as the old DVD LE's though.
Index BD fekking when?

I think the Index series is more complicated in terms of licensing, if we're lucky it might be confirmed when Index movie receives a BD treatment.

Wait a second, I've not seen anything about a Future Diary on BD yet, so surely that 2 forced DvD titles to go?

Nice to see kimi no todoe back in stock! Was thinking of picking up the manga. Wont bother now!
It won't work on the PS3 like the premium edition did as the glitch has been fixed, and NISA will most likely create new masters for the BD version.

Here's a list of forced DVD only titles (thank Kadokawa) that would have gotten Blu-rays in order of release:
17/04/2012 - Heaven's Lost Property: Forte (Blu-ray released: 25/06/2013)
10/07/2012 - Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt (Blu-ray released: 15/01/2013)
10/09/2012 - Deadman Wonderland
11/12/2012 - Is This A Zombie? (Blu-ray released: Q2 2014?)
18/12/2012 - A Certain Magical Index
16/04/2013 - A Certain Scientific Railgun
17/09/2013 - The Future Diary
24/09/2013 - Is This A Zombie? of the Dead

So far about two of them got an upgrade while another has been announced via trailer like Eureka Seven.

Given that it's been a suitable time since the DVD release of Deadman, Funimation should be able to release a Blu-ray but it doesn't look like a BD Box exists in Japan (unless someone corrects me and finds a link)..

Nice, very nice. Hoping one day they'll revist Toradora so we can get that on BD with the OAV

Anime-related, Senran Kagura Burst is finally hitting the UK shores on February 27th (eShop) & 28th (Retail) for Nintendo 3DS. Surprisingly enough, it got a rating of 16.

Another anime-related news, more character rivals join the J-Stars Victory Vs. PS3 game.

A new anime series based on Black Butler is announced (To be confirmed whether or not it will be Season 3, like Strike Witches did), or say 'Green-Lit'.

The Wind Rises, Madoka Magica: Rebellion, Lupin Vs Conan: the Movie, Tale of Princess Kagura & CGI Captain Harlock earn Japan's Academy Prize nods

Good News, The Wind Rises is now in the Oscar Nominations for Best Animated Feature.

Bad News, it's up against these: Despicable Me 2, Ernest & Celestine, Frozen & The Croods.

Note that Eureka Seven will be in 1080i and doesn't have a confirmed region code for Blu-rays.

My thoughts:
- Seems to be one big filler month, the only major release is Eureka Seven (Series & Movie) and Space Battleship Yamato movie.
- Strange how Aquarion EVOL: Part 2 hasn't been shown up at all for the past few months...
- Poor poor Shangri-La.
- My picks to get: Eureka Seven LE Part 1 & Part 2, One Piece: Collection 9. I'll get the normal versions for the rest including Shangri-La since the LE is still around.

So it's mainly crap or re-releases for April from Funimation...
Eureka Seven is the only title which I'm buying, but I have to wonder why/how they are shoving it out so damn cheaply.
I suppose the fact that it's a re-release and the Japanese BD is an SD Upscale (and a good one at that) factored in on their decision.

Now that Shangri-La is receiving a complete set, I'm hoping for Steins;Gate to appear in the same way.
I highly doubt that. I get the feeling that the reason Shangri-La got a SAVE set so quickly may be because it sold poorly. I mean, it bombed completely in Japan, and it's not exactly the most well known or well reviewed series. The Japanese are going to be a lot more protective over an IP like S;G - especially when Kadokawa's involved.

Makes sense but a BD-Box has been around for nearly a year now so there's some chance. I'm only asking because I missed out on the LE Part 1 and it depresses me every time I see people with that artbox.

You're honestly not missing out on anything. The Art is exactly the same as the standard part 1 art, there's no reversible covers or extra artwork inside.
The BD case is a different type than the one used for part two so they don't even match. If it used the cover from the JP BD Box, then I'd understand, but S;G probably has the worst artbox from Funi.
