EDIT: OOOO. Apparently it's now cheaper for MangaUK to release titles on blu-ray compared to America, because a lot of PAL territories are now switching to NTSC DVDs.

I just heard that, thank god. NTSCs basically mean we don't have to worry about PAL speed up and decrease chances of defects especially with subbed only releases. If they release the UK DVDs in NTSC then I may consider buying the UK versions.
If I remember correctly though, MangaUK previously said that they hit a roadblock when looking into releasing NTSC DVDs here. So I doubt we'll see NTSC DVDs, but basically, everyone should buy Blu-rays players.
Then how did MVM manage to pull it off as the Shana season 2 sets are NTSC.

Not to mention, Red Garden and Pumpkin Scissors (both are from the SAVE editions).

Yeah considering it was split into 4 parts at a higher price, plus the existence of better quality and cheaper releases in Australia and America, I'm not too surprised Tiger and Bunny underperformed.

Because Kaze.

Yay, can finally talk about those announcements! UK Anime did a booboo yesterday, posted the podcast announcement news on their site for five-ten minutes, caught it before they took it down, been hard to keep it to myself, I even deleted the thread I put on here about it to save the surprise for everyone (aren't I considerate!?!)

Not shocked about T&B not selling too well, I believe it wasn't only the title but the release format and their prices, unless you're a BIG fan of the show AND have a good income you're not gonna go buying each set for 24 quid a piece off the bat. I think the way they had to package that release would only work for big titles, like SAO.

BBFC gonna have a field day with DXD.

'Devil is a definite buy for me, the other I will probably get eventually as that sort of genre is my partners guilty pleasure.

Anime Digital Network have announced Chu2koi 2 and Hamatora for French simulcasts.
Strongly points towards Chu2 going to Animax via Kaze, especially since they have the first series.

I see MangaUK trying to give the same deceptive comment over Aesthetica that tricked me into watching it in the first place. Hopefully the inevitable 18 rating from the BBFC will convince some people to actually look into it to find out that the REAL story of this anime (rather than its backstory) is basically about a guy going round sexually abusing everyone he meets.

Considering that MVM can get Geneon titles, which MangaUK say they cannot do, I'm just guessing that Tony is a magician. Unless MangaUK only asked Toei.

Apparently MangaUK also have Robotic;Notes, the Blue Exorcist movie and plan to rerelease Naruto and Anime Limited have Visions of Escaflowne. Space Dandy's home video release is also apparently meant to be before October Comic Con.

Well I guess that ruins the surprises for everyone, thanks Neo :| .

Nice to see these are mentioned.

The home release of the new series Space Dandy will be "in time for MCM London Comic Con in October." Samurai Flamenco will appear on Blu-ray "towards the end of 2014."
Wut. How? Samflam may be a bit realistic with its release schedule considering it's an Aniplex title, but Space Dandy?
Think about it, the series will air from Jan - end of March assuming it's one cour, then you have to allow 6 months for the home video release in Japan. I can't see it being released here that insanely quickly.

Anime Limited really steal the show for me here though. The two previously mentioned as well as Gurren Lagann, HAL, Patema Inverted and Letter to Momo? Colour me hype. I'm assuming that's not even their full release schedule for the next year either. I'd love to see Tiger & Bunny: The Rising next year from them too assuming Viz gets it out quickly.

Manga's announcements on the other hand don't really do anything for me. All the titles I either have no interest in, already own or will be importing the R1 Versions of. (PP and maybe R;N)

A few days ago, friend and I were discussing Anime Limited's statement at getting Kill la Kill out next year and we both concluded that the earliest it could come out (especially considering Aniplex) is 2015. Maybe with Space Dandy, it premiering in the US first means that the home video release is being timed to be around the Japanese release as well?

I'd assume that since Space Dandy will also have a dub already done which might explain why it could be a quick release for this year

Bingo - an Amazon pre-order link should not be actually too far away from the launch of simulcast. Will be furnishing people with more details over the next few weeks - but stay tuned for more info :D.

PS Merry Christmas!

Ooo, that does sound very exciting. I do wonder if the Japanese side will try and enforce some restrictions in, such as being dub-only though (like with the US release of Kurokami: The Animation which had a similar airing situation) to discourage Japanese fans from importing the US/UK Blu-rays? Then again, as we're Region B, we should be relatively fine on that front, right?

Amazon have now updated Viz Media's release for Berserk Golden Age: The Advent, the third and final part of the Golden Age arc trilogy.

The Blu-ray and DVD will be released on April 15, 2014.

KAZE UK's release should not be far off from this date so expect it to be before July 2014 for non-Import owners.

Those who want to grab the Limited Edition release of Madoka Magica: The TV Series should pick them up ASAP. Rightstuf have placed a counter on the second volume. Once the number goes to zero, it's gone forever and ever and ever, unless they get more stock of course.

Space Dandy getting released so fast is fantastic. i seriously can't wait for that to air now. And with Escaflowne getting a Blu-Ray collector's edition, i think i may need to throw my money at you.

So we finally get Berserk soon? I can finally dig in. I've been waiting for it for a good while now, i want to watch it via the cinema but it didn't head there, though that's fine with the content it covers. Shall sit patiently for the Blu-Ray release. I hope that it's fully uncut as well, and not the R-15 version.
