The News Thread (for news that does not need a thread)

The only issue I've found with Sentai at the moment is a few instances in the dub of K-ON! season 2, where jokes that simply didn't work when the characters were speaking English natively were kept in instead of the script being adapted or rewritten, which shouts lazy writing to me.

EDIT:
Shinichiro Watanabe is directing a comedy anime called Space Dandy.

Anime-related but Senran Kagura: Burst 3DS is coming to Europe, digital and physical release.
Kotaku seemed to be amused by it and from that caught my attention as well.

Monster gets an omnibus perfect edition starting in 2014. And Ranma 1/2 will also have the treatment with the manga unflipped (right to left) for the first time.
Monster's perfect edition is to be oversized, possibly the same size as HOTD colour editions? or like the Evangelion Omnibus editions..
Now that Monster is back in print next year, I'll be able to read it!

Aniplex USA has nabbed Kill La Kill.

Interesting, Angel Links is one of them (Outlaw Star spinoff). Opportunity for Andrew and All the Anime to pick up to match with their Outlaw Star release.

Sunrise has announced that the following titles have been licensed by Sentai:

  • Argento Soma
  • Betterman
  • s-CRY-ed
  • Z-Mind
  • Zegapain
  • Sacred Seven
  • The Girl Who Leapt Through Space
  • Infinite Ryvius
  • Kurokami The Animation
  • The Big O

Nice to see Bandai's former titles returning.

FUNimation have also rescued Cowboy Bebop, Outlaw Star, Escaflowne: The Movie, Visions of Escaflowne, My-HiME, My-Otome, My-Otome 0~S.ifr~ and My-Otome Zwei. They also have the rest of Fairy Tail and stated that Wolf Children is out on 12th November.

Cowboy Bebop will be available in the US on DVD and BD next year - Andrew got there first, w00t!

Good grief, they didn't give us much time to gloat did they?

Please license "Vision of Escaflowne", Andrew.

It's probably going to more like the evangelion omnibus editions, since (if I'm correct) the first HOTD colour edition was that size for the Japanese version.

I quite like the size of Evangelion Omnibus, so I'm not fussed.

I am so happy to see Mai-Otome has been rescued, shall definitely be buying seeing as I never got round to finish collecting the singles as well as getting Zwei . Will double dip on Sifr and Hime, and finally get round to grabbing Escaflowne.
