Just gonna say, not going to panic about them not putting out Attack on Titan or any given Scotland Loves anime Sweetheart. They're probably going to do those and if not them Kaze through them (As undesirable as that scenario is).

So MangaUK has stated in their latest podcast that they really are reducing the amount of anime they bring out, focusing on a smaller number of ultra-popular anime rather than a wide range of stuff. With me not particularly into films, I guess this means that MVM will become the main company to look to for UK licenses in the future.

Listening to the podcast, what has me most concerned was their rather blasé reaction to the UN-GO blu-ray fault. Have Manga even given a response to this yet that isn't just 'blame Kaze trololol, continue to furnish us with your cash-moneyz'.

Manga already have Attack on Titan licensed.

I'm not a fan of the idea of reducing the number of releases - just sounds like they're cost cutting.

Hopefully their definition of reducing the amount of releases is their way of saying "We're going to stop distributing Kazeshit."

I wasn't pleased with that either. Jeremy essentially laughing off the problem as not being a major one was surprising considering his good record with the PR side of things. Would have appreciated any kind of acknowledgement that glitched releases aren't acceptable. Was glad that Jonathan Clements pulled him up and said that the fault is ridiculous.

To be fair, they have had a few notable bombs lately, such as Clannad (Jerome said on Facebook that they didn't even recoup the initial advance for the license). Although I do like that Railgun and Index are being discussed a lot more now. When I asked Tony of MVM at MCM, he said that he has looked at them, but they're on the back-burner at the moment. Hopefully a license happens soon. Loved the way it ended though, with Jerome's microphone xD

Also damn, that podcast was depressing at the beginning xD. Although I have suggested a water-cooler moment for "It's All Creepy Crawly" - episode 7 of Strike Witches 2.

For the record, I never intended my response to this to comes across in that way, but I appreciate in hindsight it could have to some. So apologies if that annoyed you. It was never my intention to sound like I was simply "laughing off the problem", as you phrased it. Once again, apologies.

I'd also like to add that I completely agree that glitched releases are not acceptable.

Cheers for responding to my comment Jeremy, glad that you can appreciate why I felt that way. With Kaze's communications to the UK being so awful (or non-existent, to be more accurate), any time Manga comment on a Kaze release it's going to be scrutinized harder than normal.

The 7th episode of the first season is probably a better point of discussing since the whole knicker swapping is actually an absurd reference to Erich Hartmann nicking Hitler's hat.
That is a very, very good point.

Jeremy, if you've read this, can you make it happen please? =3

Say what? Why would it be a reference to her nicking his hat?

Fans of Makoto Shinkai! Check out this great music video from his latest film Garden of Words. How gorgeous does this film look? Well worth a gander

Calvin MacKinnon
It looks stunning. Sorely tempted to import the US Blu-Ray, unless there are any plans for a UK release?

Andrew Partridge
I'd hold off the US release...

I've already purchased the Japanese and US Blurays. Let's just say I'm more than willing to buy it a third time if Andrew can make it worth my money :D

So, from what I'm reading, Manga will eventually be releasing Fairy Tail on Blu Ray? Have they confirmed this?
They're thinking about it.
Nothing has been confirmed yet (although considering how Manga deals with BD releases, they'll drop it after a few volumes because it isn't selling enough).
