Eye on Asia:

We've had some awful news this evening. The container ship that was carrying a lot of our stock that should have been with us over recent weeks has sank and our stock was lost. We will be trying to re-order as much of it as possible but we know there are going to have to be a fair few cancellations

Logic dictates it goes down with the ship.

Shipping containers are not really known for their ability to float

Looking around the net a surprisingly large number of container ships sink a year

I mean...you'd thought there'd be a bigger story, like the ship carrying them sinking, or some accident that knocked several crates off.

...Wait so, if we all learn deep sea diving...we could find a buttload of loot?

"Burning flames of passion" moe. Although the above moe would be fine too.

You are missing some key details all over the place today. :p

I'm having one of those days. I want to know why it sank now though, including a made-for-TV movie starring washed up actors from the '80s.

Buried treasure? Sounds like a job for this guy...

MVM cancels Blu-ray release of Another.

http://animeblurayuk.wordpress.com/2013 ... f-another/

It has today been revealed that the UK Blu-ray Release of Another: The Complete Collection has been cancelled, and it will now only be available on DVD.

The news became apparent when Agent347 asked MVM’s Twitter account for Blu-ray Pre-order information, and that is when MVM replied with the unfortunate news.

The Australian company we were due to print the BD with have pulled out, so unfortunately we’ve had to cancel the BD release.

For those unaware most UK companies (such as Manga UK & MVM) partner with Australian companies (such as Madman & Sirven Visual) for most DVD & Blu-ray releases, this is so that all of the companies can share production costs and it also means that a lot more anime is released. However due to this ‘australian’ company pulling out of the Blu-ray MVM will now only release the DVD edition of the series.

Another: The Complete Collection is scheduled for UK Release on the 25th November 2013, a Blu-ray is available in america but it is Region Locked.

"Another one bites the dust."

(On a more inquisitive note, biting the dust is an objectionable idiom. Certainly, one can associate falling dead with coming into the proximity of dust, for dust usually gathers at ground level, but biting dust is something one could only do if one has sufficient agency over one's jaws. Those who have "bitten the dust" lack such agency, in all but the most unusual of circumstances. Perhaps I should compose a strongly-written letter to The Times.)

There are a few errors in that article.

1. Manga get their BD masters from the Australian distributor and get their own discs manufactured (it's why they keep on moaning that they're not making much money on BD releases) where MVM shares that stock the Australian distributor gets made (all the discs then have to have the BBFC rating on them).
2. As has been mentioned two pages ago (and in the US region free BD's thread) the US version of another isn't region locked as Sentai shared their stock with Hanabee.

Thats nice of them doing it with a video but the anime, to me, was not as good as the internet says. Still, its a nice a fun show to watch.

I've seen quite a few conflicting reports, some people are very excited while others think there's not really much to the show (overpower protagonist seems to be a key point they all make)

I'll wait and see what happens nearer to release before I decide which way to go I think
