You f*cking what. GitS:SAC had what is widely regarded as one of the best English dubs ever produced and Funi are too tight or can't be arsed to get them back together? I have no words. What a fantastic choice for your first sub-only release, Funi.

Who had GitS in the US before? It was a Bandai / Manga collaboration wasn't it? Perhaps people with the ability can talk to Manga and get them to organise something for the UK release, this is a goddamn travesty.

Hold fire everyone, go straight to the original source.

This special edition will be a limited single run printing of 2,500 units and will be on sale prior to FUNimation’s typical English language home video release.e/quote]e/quote]

A dub will be coming later.

Watch FUNimation cast Grey Ayres as Batou. Just watch them.

I really hope that for this one, they (correctly) see it to be worthwhile to send it to the studio that dubbed SAC.

If it has to be Funimation, then there are only two possibilities for Batou: Christopher R. Sabat or Jason Douglas.

But I agree that the best course of action would be to outsource the dubbing to Bang! Zoom! for the original voices.

As Production IG aren't using the original Japanese cast, they might veto the original English dub cast as well. Apparently it was the Japanese company that got the Manga dub nixed on the Maiden Japan release of New Dominion Tank Police.

You really don't like him don't you?
No, I do not. His only good role was Bido in Fullmetal Alchemist.

Nobody is Batou but Richard Epcar. NOBODY!
From what Richard Epcar has said in the past, he'll probably go to war if he isn't asked xD

This is funimation we're talking about here.

They didn't even bother getting the original Shana cast in to do the second and third seasons, so it would be unlikely that they'd bring in the original cast here.

Actually Bandai Japan had already asked that the original Manga dub not be used, but the original audio without the voices no longer exists so Maiden Japan couldn't create a new dub which is why it's gone sub only.

I think shana and arise are two different circumstances, with shana there were still 2 seasons and movie and an ova to dub which to have it outsourced would have cost quite a bit more than doing it in house, i think this can be more comparable to the roberta's blood trail dub, because the there are only gonna be 4 1 hour or so movies, i think it will be a lot easier to get the original dub cast back, i at least hope they try and get the major, togusa, aramaki and batou, if they did decide on an in house cast then i at least hope they do the series justice and not muck it up.

Hmm, first I'd heard of that. It doesn't bother me much as, short of them coming up with amazing box art, I wasn't intending to pick up the new release, but I'm surprised to hear that Bandai would veto the existing dub. I thought it was a perfectly fine effort.

Having watched quite a few of the old Manga UK dubs in recent times, I have finally come to accept that I have a terrible crush on Toni Barry's voice.
