Akira Returns to U.K. Cinemas July 13

The PR company Fetch Publicity announced the following.

Fetch Publicity are delighted to announce that one of the greatest animated movies of all time, Katsuhiro Otomo's universally acclaimed and genuinely ground-breaking anime Akira returns to the big screen to celebrate its 25th anniversary. Opening at UK cinemas on 13th July 2013.
Akira is the movie that single-handedly started the anime revolution and defined the Manga brand as the world's leading distributor of Japanese animation.

Thanks for the link. So what's wrong with Kaze releases? :p

They have alienated a few people around here by being generally uncommunicative and restrictive in their authoring policies (and the less said about their Anime On Demand service these days, the better).

Having said that, Viz in the US operate in a very similar manner and have done far worse than Kaze in the past. I'm going to buy the US version of Berserk II myself, but only because a region A disc is more convenient for me than a region B one.

Akira in cinemas again!

If you get the chance to see it on a big screen, DO IT! Ask no questions. Do not deliberate. JUST DO IT.

It is a matter of grave urgency that this receives a Western release. Grave urgency.
JM pretty much said it will never happen here due to the Japanese release having Sub/Dub - Anyone who really wants it will import.

Speaking of importing... Kara no Kyoukai RE BD Box. Many retailers are listing it with English subtitles now which has made my day. Day 1 import!
Dat cover!

My sister and I were just discussing what could be meant by that?

Hmm, well played Manga. I'm listening. 'Unique' really piques my interest.

Good! My work here is done ;)

You know what would be awesome? If it came in a Limited Edition box that stored both volumes and came free with a Metal Uppa. In fact, just a Metal Uppa would be awesome.

At the risk of sounding thick. What's a Metal Uppa?

That sounds great! I hadn't really thought beyond a box in all honesty, my mind is very limited that way  but from that picture it looks really cute! I'd love that.
