http://hmv.com/hmvweb/displayProductDet ... sku=649950 (a promised place)
http://hmv.com/hmvweb/displayProductDet ... sku=649932 (elfen lied)
can someone please confirm this.
Huh, now that would be very interesting if it's happening. I've tweeted the company in question. Let's see what the response is! They seem to be a small distributor of niche independent films.

i'm gonna be so anxious to find out if it's true, if it is then is suppose it would explain why i couldn't find it on any of the anime sites, but then again they do have code geass season 2 up fro preorder (the beez one and the kaze one).
i just really hope it's true, cause i'd really like elfen lied

Something to do with http://101-films.com/ perhaps?

The question I would ask is why those titles in particular? both were ADV and are a fair bit old

Perhaps the licences were up for grabs at a fairly reasonable price? If the materials and stuff are already done, I guess they can reprint the old DVDs in slightly revised packaging and it would probably do a decent amount of business.

Discotek had a lot of updates on there facebook page regarding release dates on upcoming titles, here is the full lowdown.
  • New Hurricane Polymar.Release date:March 19th 2013. Japanese language, English sub, English dub.

Shin Getter Robo VS Neo Getter Robo.Release date March 19th 2013.Japanese language, English sub

This April will probably see the release of the Japanese version of Samurai Pizza Cats. The title will be Legendary Ninja Cats. It will be all 54 episodes in one set. We're working on the logo and front cover now.

The English dubbed Samurai Pizza Cats will be in 2013 in one box set but exact date is undecided.

Expect Lupin the 3rd Green VS Red to come out in May and possibly another title not yet announced.

Love Com will probably be June or July.

Captain Harlock we're looking at June or July also.

Saint Seiya movies will also be in the summer.

Really happy if "Place Promised etc etc" comes out. Been wanting that bad boy for a while now.

My ADV collection of Elfen Lied came looking less then happy (brand new from play too!) so I may pick up the new release.

Decided to email them, their reply:

Hi

Yes, 101 Films has acquired these two titles and are releasing them as follows:

A Promised Place - 18th February
Elfen Lied - 28th February

Full details are yet to be confirmed but Elfen Lied will be a 4-disc set.

Thanks alot

Steve

Huh, interesting.

Elfen Lied seems like a good fit with 101 Films' schlocky/controversial horror output. Place Promised may just have been a good seller for ADV.

Nooooooooo. Ah well. It's not like I haven't got the manga to re-read in the meantime.

Epic Discotek release schedule

Nice. I've heard mixed reviews of Green vs. Red, but it does sound like one of the more interesting Lupin productions of recent years, so I'll have that.

Good to see Love Com getting a release as well. Frankly, someone should have done that years ago...

I read on ANN that Elfen Lied is 4 discs (the same disc count as ADV's box set). Hopefully they aren't just using those masters...I'd buy this rerelease just for the OVA if it is somehow included.

I read it the same place ANN did, a few posts up in this thread...

Given that both titles are still held by AEsir, they're probably piggybacking off that license so I highly doubt the OVA will be included.

I tried finding it in this thread, but couldn't see it. I was probably just too exhausted when I read the article to see it xD.

I would have been more happier if they announced "Kurau, Phantom Memory". Elfin Lied, was alright, for a half finished story, and I've grown tired of Shinkai's "Life's too short, and there's no happyness" themes.
