Now I know what it is. I'll have to check my grades and I'll be able to tell where I am.

And good to hear chaos. if i'm assuming correct its a dating site? hope all goes well :)
LOL =) You couldn't be more wrong, but that's OK. Simply put, couchsurfing.org is about letting strangers sleep in your couch.

Dating is all about meeting people. So, all I need to do is meet more people. I just wish I had more single friends into my hobbies as well. Best way to meet new people is being introduce by friends, at least that's what I think.

Ah, no... he mentioned it some time ago, but it's a service that lets you invite or be invited to other people's houses to stay there for a bit, I think. Like a new way to meet lots of people quickly and see if you can become friends etc, except you're helping them out or visa versa in terms of lodging.
Am I right, Chaos?
Yep, that's the gist of it.
My cousing tried this before and said she had fun. It can be fun or a complete nightmare, but anyway, it's seems to be an interesting thing at least.

They also have weekly meetings, so I was thinking about going to those as well.

wtf sort of life am i living?

your saying i don't need to worry about buying a house....just join a website and i can stay round strangers houses? thats genius!

just be careful that you don't let the unstable mentalists in who are likely to kill you in your sleep ;)

Hiya Otaku,Tachi and Chaz :D

and Tachi when I go back in September I will be year 13, though it will be 3rd year there as I had to be year 12 again as I was doing a new course last year :p

I see - this college / uni thing confuses me. University for me was always the collection of colleges.
Some universities are like that, whereas some individual colleges are essentially full-scale universities going by another name for historical reasons.
There are also smaller colleges that aren't quite as large as a universities but can still award their own degrees.
In addition to this there exist places that offer school-level qualifications, such as A-Levels or vocational equivalents. It's best to conclude that the word 'college' isn't very rigid in its use.
A bit like 'pudding' really. Some puddings are savoury, whereas others aren't. Huzzah for puddings.

ahh. hang on....i swear your younger than me mono, so how could you do year 12 twice? that would make your next year, year 14 in technicality.

confused...

and i already worry chaos lol

When you do a new btec course in my college they automatically put you in year 12 and as I started a new btec course last year I was year 12 again

A btec course is equivalent to diffent things depending on what level it is, so I'm currently doing a btec medical science course which is level 3, which makes it's equivalent to a few A-levels

Oh, that's nice. medical science Mono? I thougth you were doing media studies or something like that...

Planning to go to medical school?

I did a BTEC in Public Services myself, and it's as MONO said. With a class that didn't misbehave and shout all the time, the course would of been much better. But hey, I passed it with good grades. Screw the rest! ;)

^ I see... don't get me wrong, but I believe Dublin to be better than in Belfast. But then again, who am I to say anything.

Well... i'm sure it is, belfast sucks bawls. I just miss my friends and family and my old job. Its hard making friends in a new city, im so ******* bored.

Yeah, I know the feeling Skikes.
May I suggest you join couch surf and go to one of their meetings? couchsurfing.org.

I'm currently addicted to this site and it's a great way to meet people, no need to host anyone right now. Just find the Dublin topic and ask people to show you around. I'm sure you can make friends in no time there =)

Chaos try to think of it from moving from London to the IoW, thats the best way i can think of it
When I moved to Belfast I was moving from Sao Paulo which is a city with 18 Million people in it. Imagine my shock moving to a 500k country.

In away, Sao Paulo had some nice things that i can't find even in London, such as 24 service virtually anywhere - from supermarkets to petrol stations, pharmacies, restaurants, etc.

The only explanation I could think of for this to happen there and not here is because the minimum wage there is risible.

We do have 24 hour bars & pubs though chaos :p
and most supermarkets are 24hour too.

Just spent the past 30-40mins sat talking with our team leader about swine flu lol. if the pandemic really hits as bad as we think it will in oct-nov then we might close the service. and if we all get it then well leave HR to deal with it :p

everyone alright?
