The Anime/Manga I Bought Today Was...

Bought the toradora blu ray premium Edition. That's it for my spending this month (unless AL put another preorder up in the sale)

Where did you get it from and how much was it? I'd kind of like to get the show but the Standard Edition isn't as region compatible as the Premium Edition (plus, books and stuff).

It's oop everywhere so had to resort to eBay. Got it for £45 shipped and the international shipping ebay run didn't charge me customs, must have classified it as a book as they're zero rated.

Neat, I'll maybe have to look into it some time. I'm secretly hoping that someone picks it up over here but I guess that's pretty unlikely.

Which version of Berserk Golden Age: The Egg of the King did you order? The Kaze version or the Viz Media version?

The Viz Media version is surprisingly playable on UK Blu-ray players (via Top Menu) *as tested by AUKN members years back*

Redline is a lot of fun.

Bleh, this was one of the series I wanted out of the sale, too. Seeing someone else order it is breaking down my resistance. ~_~

I'm very tempted to order it as well (once my first order gets dispatched because otherwise it'll end up being grouped together and customs will catch it). Also planning on getting ef considering it's $14 each, was going to get Fate/stay night but the 1080i sets have subtitle issues which are fixed in the 1080p version.

It's the series I was waiting for before placing an order! I watched it a long time ago and really enjoyed it the first time.
Now I just have to wait for SS+ :D

Both the Sentai Complete and Part sets for Fate are garbage. Video quality is awful (and uses the same encode for both sets), and the only difference between the two is a few fixed typos. Out of the "Bargain Bin" items I might pick up Towanoquon for the $7 asking price despite the video issues.

The way I see it, it doesn't take much to get hit by customs so if you're going to be over anyway you might as well go for a big order where the ransom fee doesn't feel quite so bad (though apparently some may scale based on percentage if it's beyond a certain amount so that'd be a nuisance). I wouldn't necessarily mind the VAT so much if customs would make it possible to pay it yourself easily online (which I suspect would get them a fair amount more money with people paying to avoid the risk of the ransom fees, I'd imagine it works for Amazon and others that offer a similar service to get more business).

That's just a more general comment though, I haven't ordered anything in the sale myself (so far).

I've heard Madhouse haven't done the best job with Mahouka but the fanservice and onii-sama really intrigues me. :lol:
