The Anime/Manga I Bought Today Was...

Hidamari Sketch - all 4 release on BD. Been meaning to pick them up for a while and this has also allowed me to experiment with Amazon.com.

Even with the customs deposit I'll come out a decent bit ahead of ordering from my usual sources, though this is largely because these titles are ~50% off, any less than that and Amazon.com would not be viable.

Good choice, Hidamari Sketch is one of my favourites. Kind of annoying that it'll likely be a year or so before Honeycomb is out on Blu-ray (no idea if the newer special will be out at all, I'm kind of hoping they include it with Honeycomb but that seems unlikely).

You certainly have to time purchases on Amazon.com, I think the main advantage is not needing to worry about any handling charges. It may come out the same or slightly more expensive than some options but sometimes those are a gamble while you know what you'll be paying with Amazon (though they do occasionally refund some of the deposit).

Must admit, I haven't had a standalone DVD player for years.

The MR players from MRM are multi-region across both BD and DVD. BD you select by tapping 1, 2 or 3 (equating to A, B or C) before you switch the player on or put the disc in, and then DVD is just automatically set to the correct setting based on whatever DVD you try to play.

Not 100% sure if I'll go through with the Eva purchase yet but I've got it pre-ordered just in case.
 
That's how my Eva pre-order started out, but having seen the packaging, I think I'll be sticking with it now. Especially considering that we won't see it over here any time soon.

Yeah Honeycomb's going to be a while and I'd suspect we'll get a clone of the DvD contents when Sentai are cleared for release. I guess I didn't mention these are upgrades of my existing DvD sets, seemed like a good time to tick them off my list and to also save a little on the deal.

I had the DVDs first too, I'll have to decide if I want to get the DVD for Honeycomb or just wait for the Blu-ray. Knowing me, I'll probably end up getting the DVD. It'd be kind of sad if the DVD was unsuccessful and they decided not to do a Blu-ray because of that. That said, I'd imagine the series must have been successful so far since they re-released it on Blu-ray in the first place (and MVM are picking it up too).
 
Devil Survivor 2 the series.
Pondering pre-ordering Tokyo Ghoul but now Amazon is sh*t and only does free delivery over £20, it doesnt make the cut so may just wait for the release date and buy something else to qualify for free delivery :p
