The Anime/Manga I Bought Today Was...

Received my No Game No Life Collectors set, the extra's box seems weirdly oversized for what it contains, it could of been half the size I reckon.

Playing cards are quite boring which makes me sad, I like getting 54 pieces of art work on my cards, rather than 5 :(

Code Geass: Akito the Exiled Vol.2 - I have Vol.1 and Vol.3 which I bought from eBay, so decided I better get Vol.2 sooner rather than later.
I've been considering importing the LEs from Amazon.jp - might start picking them up now that I've finished getting Yamato 2199!

Ordered:

Hanasaku Iroha Vol 1 PE
Hanasaku Iroha Vol 2 PE
Hanasaku Iroha The Movie PE

Thought I should start spending my Birthday money so I bought some things I've been wanting for a while

Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood Collection 2 (Blu Ray)-£22
Redline (Blu Ray)-£2
Nekomonogatari Black (Blu Ray)-£8

If you don't mind buying used, CeX really has some great prices. The only downside is they don't have free shipping.

Yea I've used them for UK disks in the past and they can be quite useful... some stuff is decently priced but then some is overpriced. Don't know if it's still the case but last time I used them there was a flat shipping fee (think it was 2.50?) per order regardless of item count so the more you buy the cheaper it gets :)

I wish I could work out how to use Amazon.jp as honestly I would rather buy from there and pay the added taxes etc so I wouldn't have to deal customs, but as is I've had to get the LEs from elsewhere, albeit cheaper.

Yeah, they still do flat shipping, so if you're ordering a few things it isn't that bad.

It's not that difficult, honest.

You can choose to view the site in English. Not as great as it sounds as plenty is still in Japanese, but you should be able to understand enough to get by. If you google Amazon.jp then in the results you should get a link to view the site in English.

Your existing Amazon details - login, addresses, payment methods are all good there.

Delivery is fantastic, usually only taking a few days, especially if you pre-pay the import fees.

Anything direct through Amazon.jp should be postable to UK addresses. Things through the market place you might need to trial and error a few sellers - add the items and when you confirm the address you want to send it to it'll either let you or not, in which case you delete the item and try from someone else.

IIRC Amazon JP is actually the only one where your existing account won't be recognised and you'll have to register again (you can use the same email address though). Unless it changed or I'm remembering it wrong, that is.

You can also do a quick ctrl+f for "海外向け" to see which ones have it listed in their links to shipping prices.

I really don't remember having to re-register. Checking my account now it's got old addresses in there that I've never deleted. I'm sure I wouldn't have entered those again.

Guess the obvious check is, if you haven't used Amazon.jp before then try your existing details. Either they'll work or they won't. :)

I used Amazon jp for first time couple of months ago and had to re-register as my UK details didn't work.

When you look at a product on Amazon JP it'll tell you if it ships to your address or it'll say sorry it doesn't ship to the address in your account. Look through the marketplace and find the sellers that ship internationally. If its fulfilled by Amazon then import fees are done before you hit the confirm order button. With marketplace sellers you'll get hit by customs if its over the freshold. Amazon JP ships using DHL so you'll get it pretty quick.

Once you'd registered did it pull any of your account details across? I'm really confused now, I'm sure I didn't have to do all mine again. Could be wrong though, it was a while ago! :)

Bizarre. Can only assume I'm wrong then.

Even then, I'd still recommend using Amazon.jp - Tbf, for anime collecting it's a godsend, or at least it has been for me! :)

Me too, I managed to get Tiger & Bunny from there for a good price. Plus a couple were used but they looked brand new when they arrived.

I got the Macross DYRL box set which was marked as used - very good. Arrived and it was absolutely mint condition. Still in the shrink wrap.

I just tried with my normal Amazon account and it didn't work so you must have to make a new one. I think I'll give it a go for Vol.4 LE of Akito the Exiled though. Just hope it doesn't turn into a spending problem....because it might just lol thanks for the info.
