Hang on - regarding those GITS: SAC blu rays, am I reading this right?


"I watched a part of the first episode in English, just to see how it sounded and how the "subtitles" matched to that version. Everything seemed copacetic beside one small issue where during the episode, the track switched to Japanese for two lines of dialogue and then back to English. I don't know if that will be a recurring issue, but something to look at for those who just want to watch the English dub."


Is this saying that the actual AUDIO switches from English to Japanese? If so, that's a broken release. And if we got it at 99p SRP it'd be overpriced.

COME ON. This show is a dyed in the wool classic. Half assing a hi-def release for it after so many folks have requested it for so long is UNACCEPTABLE.
 
Well this is shaping up to be a horribly disappointing release of a show that deserves better. Bare bones budget-looking single case releases complete with errors? And this is the US version, which is normally a good fall-back if UK versions aren't up to snuff.

Manga, if you're listening, you could do a lot for your reputation by blowing the US release out of the water with a better and nicer one this side of the pond. You might even get US fans importing the UK version.

Jerome has confirmed on Twitter they are not copying the US release. he was not even aware there was one. I would expect it to share the same masters as AL French version. Hopefully this will mean the UK will get a superior release.

Discussed in the Animatsu thread but he immediately unconfirmed that and said he would be copying the US release if no alternative existed, so we still have to wait and see. If they can somehow manage a corrected, region free release I should imagine it would sell rather well under the circumstances.

they have the opportunity to do something better than the US for once, lets hope they take that oppertunity
