ANN Funimation Podcast Round-up:

** - my thoughts

Autumn 2015 Licenses (Simulcasts) - Overall:
- Aria the Scarlet Ammo Double A
- Attack on Titan: Junior High
- Concrete Revolutio
- Dance With Devils
- Doamayger-D
- Heavy Object
- Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans *Presumably Simulcast only due to Rightstuf's deal with Sunrise*
- Noragami Aragoto
- Seraph of the End -Battle in Nagoya-
- STARMYU/High School Star Musical
- Valkyrie Drive -Mermaid-

Evangelion: 3.33 Situation: - Fun Fact: Original US home release planned was February 2014
- News! Details logged in right now and will be released early 2016. More details hopefully at New York Comic Con.
- No Theatrical plans.

Twitter Questions:
Delays on certain titles:
- Free! will have an update next week
- Tokyo Ghoul CE had a defect on manufacturing

Evangelion TV
- Don't have it yet

Dragon Ball Super
- Don't have it yet (no one in the US has it), but they are doing a panel at NYCC with a VA.

Puchim@s but not the main iDOLM@STER series?
- Can't go into details with contracts, sometimes parts of franchises are available to distributors. *Sentai Filmworks does have iDOLM@STER: Xenoglossia*

Speed Racer
- They don't have the materials yet, planning to do a Blu-ray release.

Bandai license rescues
- They have some materials for some titles, and they want the highest quality (the best available). These ones (the shows with the materials already at Funi) will be on the 2016 schedule.

Space Battleship Yamato Resurrection license
- Don't have the license to the film. When they announced a film it was actually the live-action film (released already) and not the anime film.

Full-coloured disc art
- Some titles have full colour. Can't remember what, 'just depends'.

Why do certain titles don't have chipboard releases
- Opportunity to do something similar with the Japanese release. If there were changes in the future they would let people know basically.

Sub-only titles in standard edition when OniAi was successful
- OniAi was a test. Difficult to tell what would be successful, very subjective. Simulcast & streaming views are kind of dependant for a Limited Edition release. Japanese licensors do want to know how popular the views are for their titles on LEGAL streams. *Basically support the industry and you'll get a better or even special release. You are not supporting the show if you are watching it on illegal streams*

Dragon Ball Z Kai Final Chapters
- No news on that unfortunately

One Piece films
- No news on that unfortunately but they're interested in working on the newest film.
At least Free! will have an update hopefully Dec-Jan Release

With the Autumn season approaching, Sentai Filmworks have announced their acquisition for Chivalry of a Failed Knight (Rakudai Kishi no Cavalry).

With the Autumn season approaching, Sentai Filmworks have announced their acquisition for Comet Lucifier.

With the Autumn season approaching, Sentai Filmworks have announced their acquisition for Young Black Jack.

With the Autumn season approaching, Sentai Filmworks have announced their acquisition for Beautiful Bones -Sakurako's Investigation- (Sakurako-san no Ashimoto ni wa Shitai ga Umatteiru). Honestly that English name is just daft, why didn't they use A Corpse is Buried Under Sakurako's Feet.?

Always intersting to hear news on license rescues. I know these can be odd fish to wrangle, but the thought of some slghtly older shows that may not have gotten the love they deserved having a second chance in the sun leaves me feeling warm and fuzzy.

I may have been making an assumption here, but I thought Sentai were the ones going after the juicier stuff from Bandai's back catalogue. Don't they have rights to Argentosoma, Brain Power'd and The Big O?

The reason for Free! Eternal Summer's delay has been revealed.

Funimation have upgraded the sets to include the OVA episode (previously planned for a separate release) and added more content to the Premium Edition tier for the hardcore fans.

We are upgrading all three releases of Free! -Eternal Summer- to include the OVA, a fourteenth episode of the series that was not broadcast on Japanese television or on simulcast! This will affect the Premium Edition, Limited Edition, and Blu-ray/DVD Combo Pack. All three will now be available February 16, 2016 (but pre-order now)!

We’ve been working hand-in-hand with our licensing partners in Japan to be able to make this change for you, and through collaborating together, we are now able to put the series and OVA together. This is a new opportunity that hasn’t been available before, so we’re excited to be bringing all of Free! -Eternal Summer- to fans in one single package.

What does this mean for you? If you’ve pre-ordered the series already, no sweat—your order will remain the same, but your home video release will now include the extra content. If you haven’t pre-ordered yet, you can do so now—pre-order before the release date and you’ll also be entered to win some great prizes! (If you’ve already pre-ordered, you’re already automatically entered.)

The OVA is really pretty special—an all-out water gun fight full-length episode with the Iwatobi and Samezuka boys, full of hilarity and drama and wet swimmer boys and… maid outfits? Who’s going to come out on top?! Suffice to say, if you’re a Free! fan craving more content after the end of the TV series, you won’t want to miss out on this one.

Need more reasons to pre-order? Check out everything you get in the Free! –Eternal Summer- “For the Future” Premium Edition:
- The Free! –Eternal Summer- Limited Edition Blu-ray/DVD Combo Pack, featuring a gorgeous rigid chipboard box with water gloss effect inspired by the Japanese release
- A full-color art book, including many gorgeous pieces exclusive only to the original Japanese releases
- Seven glossy art cards also using exclusive, highly detailed art from the covers of the Japanese releases—you’ll definitely want to frame these
- A color sports towel, so you can take the boys to the pool or beach!
- An Iwatobi and a Samezuka decal to show off your school pride
- And finally, everything housed in a handsome collector’s box to hold all your Free! collectibles

The release date for all four versions (Standard, Limited & Premium) is now February 16th 2016.

ANY NEWS ABOUT A DANMACHI, SHOKUGEKI COLLECTOR'S EDITION?

Right now all of our energy is going toward trying to make a Nozaki-kun box set happen (cross your fingers!), but those two titles are definitely popular enough to warrant it. Right now we don't have a definitive answer, but keep asking, we're always listening.

WHAT'S THE NEXT CE YOU GUYS HAVE COMING OUT AFTER BEYOND THE BOUNDARY? I HOPE YOU GUYS DO NOZAKI-KUN!!

We DO have something lined up after Beyond the Boundary, but it's a bit of a secret! And yes, we are trying extra hard to make that Nozaki box set happen, and it would totally help the cause if we heard more people demanding it!

With regards to Free! Eternal Summer Premium Edition, any idea why they refer to it as 'For The Future'? Is it designed to house a future release of the first season?

Nah it's just a random term to name their set. I think there's contract/licensing reasons for not allowing a spare slot for unlicensed parts of the show (Hellsing Ultimate had this problem - Funi wanted the Volume V-VIII LE to hold Volume IX & X but weren't allowed).

This makes me very very happy. So glad to be getting the OVA.

All over that possible Nozaki-Kun boxset. Very excited.
I hope the other title they mentioned is Shirobako.

I've heard the Free OVA is fantastic. To put in an order or not??! hmm.

Bandai had the license for Nichijou right? I'd just love it if someone got around to releasing a Blu-ray set. It's sad that Bandai didn't give it any release at all (though maybe it'll work out if we do get a particularly nice Blu-ray release in the next year or so).

I guess Nichijou isn't the only thing they had that I'd be interested in but I think it'd be top of my most wanted list.

Quite surprised by this acquisition. Oh well, considering this is 11 episodes it's going to end up with a 1 disc release if Sentai decides to release it subtitle only.

Just seen the first episode, wouldn't have necessarily pegged it as a Sentai title.

Also, any reason why you keep calling them Sentai Spookworks? (Edit: Just seen their twitter feed, how bloody stupid...)

Soo..this happened:

"Hunter x Hunter makes it to US home media! DVD, blu-ray and English dub!"
