So pretty much this is Aniplex's release schedule:
..
October
- ALDNOAH.ZERO: Set 2 | Blu-ray LE, DVD
- Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works: BD-BOX II | Blu-ray LE (Japanese Import)
..

As expected a F/SN import box set.

This does raise the question of how MvM plan on getting Blade Works out this year as I see no mention of a dubbed version in Aniplex's schedule. I just don't see them wanting or being allowed to do a sub only so close to the import box set plus we all know a dubbed version will be released by Aniplex in a year or so.
When you consider that Aniplex have previously released their bigger titles within 6-7 months of the first JP BD release then I'd say it's entirely plausible that the first half could release this year. I imagine they'd wait to release it back to back across two months like Fate/Zero though.
Let's be honest too, they can't exactly say an early US release would have a detrimental effect on Japanese sales considering how many copies that sold, and even then they've already sold it in both the US and Japan, so you'd imagine that anyone who wanted the JP BD Box would own it.

It'd definitely be possible to see the 1st set with a dub out this year, but as you say they'd probably want to release part 1 and 2 close to each other and with the import set of part 2 hitting in October that seems a little unlikely.

It's always possible that Aniplex decide to release the dubbed parts 1 and 2 further apart ofc, I can imagine a Nov/Dec release for part 1 easily to cash in on christmas, but in that case how would MvM ever be able to realistically release it this year? Aniplex seem to let them release quite quick now, but not that quick.

I hope MVM release an artbox version like they did for Zero.

There was an artbox for Zero? Goddammit. I wish there was a place you could just buy the boxes. I also missed out on the card box for FMA:B.

Yeah. It wasn't anything like the Funi/Japan version, but it was still pretty nice. You can see the spine in the anime collection image I posted. *shameless plug* :p

I had a look at your photo, looks quite nice. I'll have to see if I can get one somehow. It wouldn't be so bad but the spines on the 2 parts don't line up and it bugs the hell out of me.

Fate/Stay Night Unlimited Bladeworks Dub will premier at Calafornia's Anime Expo

http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/20 ... dub/.89240

I know some people said that the MVM release was too soon and they thought the dub wouldn't ready by then. I guess not.

For me it wasn't that they couldn't do a dub in time, that's pretty easy tbh, it was the speed between a JP import set and a US set + a UK set. Seems like they are doing it unusually quick considering how long they waited on Zero. Also it basically tipped Aniplex's hand, MvM saying they were going to release Bladeworks this year meant with almost certainty that Aniplex was dubbing it and would have set 1 out this year aswell.

It'll certainly be interesting to see how soon it is before they actively start courting international distributors for this - they are effectively just sitting on the money otherwise.

When it comes down to it, I do wonder if many parties outside the existing anime ones will be interested (and potentially be able to pay a higher asking price) - ie. could we see the likes of Universal, Sony or Warner grabbing this for one reason or another.

I wonder why Episode 16 is the only one not from 16mm film. The obvious answer being that the film no longer exists, but it's strange if it's constrained to a single episode. And I wonder what's been lost in translation with "film from opening day" - do they mean the original celluloid?

Anyway, it will be interesting to see if the UK/US distributor is adventurous enough to do a mega box set that includes the material exclusive to the Archive DVD box as well.
