I'm hearing that some folks are already receiving the first volume of Nozomi / RightStuf!'s Turn A Gundam release. Early reports say it's a six disc set, with each DVD in its own case a bit like their excellent Nadesico complete collection. (Okay, that one technically had TWO DVDs to a case, but whatevs.)

Really INSANELY hyped for this! And yet, still hopeful (against my better judgement) that there might be some news regarding a UK release.

I think, it's 6 discs in one DVD case.

That scenario usualy ends with a kneecaped cheap version which is stuck on DVD and the shows native format being locked away in some stupid expensive set filled with crap I did not want or on a non CR / NETFLIX VOD service that will happily charge £30 for the "licence" to the show and not actually tell you what audio formats it has.

And unless CR gets the uncut SC then that's no solution to this particular problem ether.

Collectors Editions need to be that, an edition. Not the only path to Heaven with the option of a third rate Butins available a year later.

I'm afraid I don't entirely understand you but how much evidence is there that there won't be a standard BD set later on when the LE sells out? It's cheaper for them to print basic packaging for catalogue titles than to continue putting together more LEs. They can do a standard DVD set sooner because nobody in Japan is realistically going to bother reverse importing a shoddy DVD set in 2015 when they can watch for free on digital services or rent.

The state of non-anime-specialist VOD sites is pretty bad, I really hate how poor the language options are.

Sure love that standard edition BD of Card captor Sakura that NIS released.

And just cause Nihon is a bunch of crumbums doesn't make the crumbumian actions of others acceptable.

NIS are champions of the 'LE first, regular edition later'. We already know from Jerome that the makers of the show are being protective over the international BD release so as not to shoot their own BD in the foot, and if you've waited all these years for CCS already I'm sure it will be rewarded eventually.

I understand that people love JoJos, like, a *lot* - but you still have to consider that you are on some level asking for them to produce a high priced limited edition of Naruto or One Piece.

Steel Ball Run isn't really branded in the same way as the rest of the series up to that point at all, yeah, but that would still be a weird argument to make. It's not high art, either way.

I'm a fan of the DC animations (not sure I should admit that) so I'm kind of used to Warner Brothers having odd release habits. They have been re-releasing shows on Blu-ray more recently, with Batman: Brave and the Bold being mostly out on Blu-ray now (still missing Season 3), Young Justice and even the Green Lantern Animated Series getting a Blu-ray release. I guess they could do a JoJo Blu-ray later as well (still could be quite a wait though and I'd say any sort of premium release is very unlikely).

Nothing wrong with liking DC Animation, especially the animated movies. There great.

Funimation's Broadcast dub for The Disappearance of Nagato Yuki-chan will feature returning VAs from The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya including:

Michelle Ruff - Nagato
Crispin Freeman - Kyon
Bridget Hoffman - Asakura
Wendee Lee - Haruhi
Stephanie Sheh - Mikuru
Kari Wahlgren - Tsuruya

Todd Haberkorn will be the ADR Director, Christopher R. Sabat will be the Producer and Bonny Clinkenbeard will be Lead Writer. Johnny Yong Bosch hasn't been mentioned yet so there is a possibility he'll may or may not return for Itsuki Koizumi.

Happy me if all the cast returns. I love the haruhi dub mainly because that is how I first watched it. I am waiting for the day to buy the blu rays- one day it will be released in this country...one day

Sad that we don't hear those voices in anime nearly as much as we did before Bandai Entertainment shut up shop. Here's hoping Funimation find more for them to do from now on.

Funimation announced that Michiko & Hatchin will be heading to Toonami, even though the title is on the S.A.V.E. line. Michiko & Hatchin will be replacing Inuyasha: The Final Act, starting June 20th.

The S.A.V.E. line are for titles that are either; expiring from the license, under-performed, didn't meet sales expectations.

UPDATE:

Sentai Filmworks have announced that Akame ga Kill! will also be appearing on Toonami on August 8th. It will be Sentai's first title to appear on the channel.

AAAAAAGGGH!!! We're in June already! You know what this means?!

US release date for Turn A Gundam set 1 is tomorrow. Also, the Viz re-release of Ranma 1/2 is supposed to continue thiss month with set 6... although I forget if a specific release date was put forwward for it.

I've been reallly impressed with those Ranma reissues so far. Here's hoping the OVAs and get a fresh airing in this run. Such a fun show!

Discotek's release for Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust will be English audio only:

The Blu Ray and DVD are English language only. The licensor will not allow the Japanese language to be released anywhere but Japan. We were told it was due to the Japanese version being a dub and the way the dub was produced. We would include it if allowed but cannot.

Discotek Media posted an image of the proposed cover art for Super Dimension Century Orguss on Facebook yesterday.

It's looking very swish! The dressing reveals that all 35 episodes will be in one box. Discotek are talking about an end of August release date.

I hear Orguss was originally going to be Part 3 of the Robotech universe. At least Harmony Gold changed their mind in the end otherwise the show would have suffered.

I only heard about the Robotech connection yesterday, so that came as a bit of a surprise.

I can see why it'd be considered, though. There's a certain chunkiness to the Orguss mecha that fits in line with the other shows Harmony Gold butchered to form Robotech.
