Beez Entertainment Discussion

How are Beez for region coding their Blu-Rays? I'm hoping Honneamise use the same discs everywhere.

I'd love to pick up Gundam Unicorn, but getting from Amazon.com will charge me crazy customs charges as I have a US PS3 (Region A)

Do you have any update for us about Gundam Unicorn Andrew? Bandai US are again talking about it, and the previous talk of the simultanous worldwide release has been raised again.

I do indeed - but I need to wait for full details to be locked down before I discuss anything in greater detail. Just a few hiccups that need working out as we're looking at a different release method than the usual for it (it adds a few hiccups that need working out hence my delay in discussing it)!

So in short more information on it will come shortly but yes I do have an update and it's coming in more detail soon :).

Fantastic. :)

And I know chaos has probably asked you in his communication, but any word on whether we will be getting a subtitled version of First when the Gundam streaming starts? Or will it just be the dubbed version?

I sent a message via your blog about this, but I'll put it up here again. On DVDTimes there's a review for the Madman version of Sword of the Stranger Blu Ray:

http://www.dvdtimes.co.uk/content/id/72 ... anger.html

Broadly positive, save for what might be a glitch (details in the presentation section of the review) but of most interest is they claim that as Beez hasn't put out a Blu Ray in sometime people should import.

Wouldn't it be a good idea to post over there and let them know what Beez has in store, if it still have plans for the Blu Ray. The last thing you need is people importing before you've a chance announce your own plans.

As I have said before already - we are going to be releasing Stranger on BD in Q2. I just finished the jacket for it in fact.

So it'll be available very shortly all in all - which will save on importing :). Also I find a "because they haven't released a BD in a while" a substandard replacement for them verifying facts before printing!

So thanks for checking here ^^.

Are the Anime Legend releases, Gundam Seed Part One and Eureka Seven Part One coming out Monday still? Or are they delayed?

Copied from BEEZ twitter account:

"Are Anime Legend Gundam Seed part 1, 2 & Eureka Seven Part 1 all still coming out on 22/02/2010? seem quite a few on the same day?

should be - really just due to production problems on Seed - I'll check to be sure though :)."

You will find out in few days anyway as if they are coming out on Monday as they will probably be despatched before monday anyway.

Interesting stuff. This info means I'll be doing my damnedest to wring some money out of my bank account for SEED part 2 and Eureka 7 part 1.

I'd sort of expected the titles originally mooted for a Feb 22 release to slip back as well. I wait with baited breath...

Well I've had Gundam Seed Part Two and Eureka Seven Part One shipped to me, so it looks like they are coming this week. Still waiting for Gundam Seed Part One to ship

I'll be getting Haruhi just to see what all the fuss is about. I'll wait until HMV stock it to see if they sell it for £15 before pre-ordering from Play, though...

I already own My-HiME - region one 'art box' and all - but I strongly recommend it. Ayase should note that it features excellent Kaijura music.

Witch Hunter Robin is a rather lifeless, mildy entertaining 'monster of the week' series, with an utterly retarded ending. Not worth owning, in my opinion...

And as for R2, it really isn't worth £60. At a push, S1 was, but those releases weren't art boxes and £60 for a 9-10/10 on DVD was pushing it a little...

Aye; my Eureka Seven set has been sent also. I guess I'll soon have a chance to see just why I dropped it many a moon ago...

Somebody once said to me 'Check it out! It gets good around episode 30!'

Possibly, not the strongest recommendation I've ever heard.

I'm looking forward to it, though. 8)

Kind of agree, its a shame as the series has some good ideas. It just craps out on them at the end with a rubbish ending that resolves nothing.
