UK Anime Distributor Anime Limited Discussion Thread

It's great to see the Newswire back.
As I've said to others online, I want to make sure this is a regular feature once again, and I've given folks my absolute permission to be bullied about it if it falls off the radar again! 😉

Honestly, we're pushing to have a newswire for February in full sooner rather than later, so it really shouldn't be too long until the next one.

No mention of naruto in the Newswire which dates titles into march, i assume CE 2 is not coming until after then? When these sets were originally announced, they were said to be every couple of months.

Contemplating selling CE 1 and just importing the USA release
The Newswire only covers up to the start of Februrary - we'll be revealing our full February line-up as soon as we can. We have designs ready to go for the entire series, so it's really just working through disc authoring that's the only hold-up, and that's progressing apace currently.

Here's a question for @Hanners @teetoni and @anime_andrew Who decides on which cinemas show your films? Is it you, the cinema chain or individual cinema managers? We haven't had an anime film in Southampton in ages it feels yet Showcase ARE showing The Colors Within at Reading, but not here and Vue ARE showing it in Portsmouth, but not Eastleigh (the town next to Southampton), which I guess points mostly towards option 3. I guess both you and the cinema chain would want it in as many places as possible!

I'm not them but I've seen an answer on this before.
What seems to happen is the cinemas decide where it screens and how many screens they will have for it. So they might only decide on 10 screens and then distribute them on their own discretion. So it isn't Anime Limited's choice at all.

Is it normal for the 2003 fma Blu-rays to have a fbi warning on them as they’re a uk release Im curious because I got a used copy of the 2020 collector set
If there's a US version of a release already out it's much cheaper to just copy what's out there into discs that are branded with AL or MVM. The Haibane Renmei blu-ray I recently watched had the same warning, but the MVM branding and the BBFC rating are on them.
