UK Anime Distributor Anime Limited Discussion Thread

I snapped up Sword of the Stranger, which makes five purchases now. I also just received Escaflowne & Miss Hokusai in the post. The box had been slightly banged up in transit, but fortunately both sets were unscathed. I wasn't expecting them to be so big; I'll have to do some re-arranging as the packaging won't fit on the thin multi-shelf blu ray storage units that I own. ^^

Just waiting on the Yuasa bundle & Claymore now. Still haven't received dispatch notifications, so hopefully they'll be shipped before the weekend is out.

With any luck Momotaro will also show up as a pre-order. I know it's been pushed back a few times, so fingers crossed the approvals are close to being sorted

I guess the glitch is still present as Andrew just outright ignored my question

Or maybe he's on a plane back from Japan with no Internet access right now...

I've not seen the final disc myself yet, so can't comment on this one right now - I also can't recall the issue with the prior Beez release personally, to be frank!

Not sure how 10 days before release is an "EXTREME" early-bird...

Pass for me. Will likely pick it up after Christmas though, I've wanted to see it for a while.

At this point it's just arguing semantics, but "early bird" doesn't imply anything to with price and everything to do with being available in advance.

I mean, they've never had an early bird that hasn't had a significantly reduced price, so the term early bird does kind of imply the price.

Fair enough, you can't recall it when last time do you watch it. Unless everyone here who pointed out is crazy there definitely is a glitch that onto beez release. Thanks for the reply.

Except we call them "Early Bird Offers"; the implication being that they're offers for people who buy/pre-order early. So, in our case, it's everything to do with the price, otherwise we'd just call it a "Pre-Order".

As we take payment on our shop immediately upon the order being placed, wanting "Extreme Early Bird" to mean we take your money a long way before a product is available to ship seems like an odd thing to request! ;)

Honestly when you said extremely early birds I was also expecting it to be stuff from the far off future. Sure paying months ahead is usually a pain, but with the 12 days of Christmas in mind I’ve saved up and wouldn’t have minded having a title or two paid off for 2018. XD

The situation is different to the random subtitle appearance that was on the English dub in the previous Beez release.

For those who have no idea what happened with the Funimation release, the Chinese dialogue was not subtitled for the English dub viewers whereas the previous Beez & Bandai releases did. You had to manually switch on the subtitles for those segments like the UK customers had to do with Manga UK's FREEDOM release (and yes it is tedious).

Funimation did in fact send out replacements and it is possible that Anime Limited's masters have been given the fix considering it's been a while since.

Just to let everyone know with these daily deals - it's taking me about 2-3 days to catch up from the current day, not to mention stock is taking up to 3 days to get to us. If you're receiving say day 4 deal, but haven't received day 3, it's probably because we're waiting on more stock for day 3, or it just hasn't reached you yet. I'm working as fast as I can and getting all the Claymore's boxed up tomorrow ready for Monday.

With regards to deliveries, again it's going to take up to a week, and two weeks for international, so please be patient. I do have our own orders/Xmas deals to look after as well.

Thanks for the update....I've ordered something everyday .....and yet to receive anything or any despatch emails...but as long as they come eventually I'm happy

If any further temptation is required, here's our Sword of the Stranger unboxing!

Ordered today's deal after watching the trailer.
I assume that as the release date is the 18th and with the extra delay mentioned above not to expect this till after Christmas or as numbers will be known then it will ship straight away and then it's down to Royal Mail?

We do have a high volume of orders and the vagaries of the postal service and stock deliveries to contend with, but we'll certainly be aiming to get copies shipped out to people as close to the release date as possible as per normal.

Love Sword of the stranger so it was an instant buy. Yesterday I wasn't sure about Assassination Classroom. I hadn't seen the show but I know enough about it to know it looks pretty fun. I always get a good feeling about shows I know and I'm going to like or love and I had that feeling so I kept asking myself the inevitable questions about "do you need to buy it though?/ think about that bloody massive backlog" etc. The price was right so I ordered it at around 8:00 this morning just under an hour after SOTS was announced as the next deal :)
I wonder if my wallet is in for a kicking tomorrow as well. I worked out I've saved a massive £178.99 so far in the sale!

I never thought of it a pain paying months ahead. At least not in the current era where interests on bank accounts are basically as good as zero or even possibly in the negative. See it this way: The moment you pay, you feel this sense of loss (of funds). But it gets mitigated with time. And then after a bunch of more time the item in question shows up. At this stage the feeling of loss on this already long spent money is far less immediate and the item almost looks like a present, which makes it feel even cooler, when you've been hyping for it before. Joy of anticipation is the best joy there is after all. (Granted the item can withstand the expections stemming from that.)
