My problem with EEAAO is that the US disc is Region A locked. Apparently there is a whole lot of Mandarin dialogue that needs English subtitles, which means the European BD releases are out.

I realised that unpleasant fact half-way through watching the Italian release I bought from Rarewaves,

There's a crowdfunding campaign for a 4K restoration and English subtitled UHD+BD steelbook of Mamoru Oshii's The Red Spectacles, the first film in the Kerberos Saga. The campaign is open to overseas backers. Btw, the instructions for overseas backers do not mention that the second first/last name field needs to be filled in with katakana characters.

Except it sounds like that means you can only hear the bandai versions on the first 3 ova's and not the manga entertainment dub. Is that right?

The French Collector's Edition will be OVA+Movie and the Standard edition will be Movie only. The UK release will likely follow the same format.
