UK Anime Distributor Anime Limited Discussion Thread

Either way, One Punch Man won't get a UK physical release until at least late 2016, early 2017 - Kaze might not even still be around by then.

Their CE Blu ray release of Garden of sinners was poop and their other CE's are pretty lackluster. Also, I hate yellow subs.

I'd love to know what they could do to please you, as with exception of Bebob and Lagann (maybe SAO II too, but that just looked like nitpicking to me), the reaction to their releases is near-universally positive.

From what I've seen AL don't use yellow subtitles on masters they create, and I'd imagine that the cost:benefit ratio of redoing a master available to them just because the subtitles are yellow is skewed pretty heavily in "cost"'s favour, especially since there are people who prefer yellow subtitles. I don't like them myself, but I'd rather AL didn't redo the master, especially if it means the price has to go up.

If that's all the extras we end up getting for Mobile Suit Gundam it'll be very disappointing. So fingers crossed that we get at least an interview with Tomino on the second set.

Suppose one can hope :) I imagine it's the sort of show FUNi will be all over so may be sublicense able :p

Why would Viz Media buy One-Punch Man only to sub-licence it to either FUNi or AL? Sorry to **** on your dreams, but I'd be very very surprised if this isn't a Kazé shitfest.
My dreams have officially been **** on :( this is one of those rare moments when I hope the series isn't that good so I don't feel bad about never buying it :p

No way is SAO II volume 3 releasing in December about 3 weeks after set 2. We all know it'll be delayed so don't know why they still feel the need to list it in December.

Gutted about ping pong. Ah well nothing to order in October now so money can go elsewhere.

I'm assuming he means the German version of Kaze, not AL since Garden of Sinners is Kaze in Germany

A LE was available 1-2 years ago but it's now OOP. It was a big A3 size set with the OST + the films.

That one was poop as well, they used foam to keep discs in place and the movies were distributed across 3 discs (1-2, 3-4 and 5-7) which makes no sense because movie 5 and 7 were the longest but they squeezed those three movies onto one BD. I didn't like the A3 format and it didn't have the epilouge or remix movie.

Nooo...the art work for Mobile Suit Gundam is horrible (exactly same as the US release). Surely there is far better artwork that could be used for such a great show as MSG.

Im assuming sunrise are the ones dictating the artwork for the releases.

Didn't I see a box for MSG that looked nice and was kinda provisional? Is that off the table or still on and people are getting worked up about the art on the amray that goes inside the box?

Pretty sure the box to put both parts in is still happening, they haven't said otherwise. Like SAO2 it'll be included with Part 1.

I don't mind the amaray art while it's not the best, AL likely didn't have much to work with. The art being the same as the US release shows that Sunrise are only allowing AL/Rightstuf certain assets to do their releases.
