For those interested, Akame Ga Kill collection 1 collector's edition has been listed on Amazon with a price of £85.99 - yeah, I am definitely importing lol.

£85.99 is about the exact same as $129.98 in conversion. Basically the SRP price are the same so once time passes by the price should end up the same as the US version ($129.98 to around $84.49 [£85.99 to around £55.87]).

I can quite see it being in the region of £60-70 for us, especially if it is just a literal import. Interesting to note that no standard edition blu-ray is listed for us either, so it's ~£60 or nothing. Can't help but feel Animatsu are going to regret this, and Jerome's going to go on a huge twitter rant if it doesn't sell well. (I'm assuming it won't, but maybe I'll be proven wrong.)

Exclusive prediction, this release is going to TANK, and Jerome is going to bitch about how fans said they wanted collector's editions and then didn't buy it...

My prediction it will sell 3-400 copies and do just fine

I can't see it doing that well, unless it's heavily discounted below £60 at some point. Look at our discussion yesterday, there was maybe one or two definite buyers, a bunch of maybes and a few definitely not. Manga releases tend to appeal to the casual crowd, and maybe I'm tarring them all with the same brush, but I can't see anybody looking at ~£60 for 12 episodes and going for it, unless they're a fan of the show and I don't think there are many hardcore AgK fans around...

They will have CE and Se i bet so the release will do fine

If there's an SE I'd agree with you, but there's not a blu-ray SE listed on Amazon at the moment. Given the CE and DVD SE are listed, that seems to indicate that AgK will be CE only on blu-ray for a while, at least.

I would be tempted at around £50-60 but I'm also interested to see how much the second part will be because let face it, once you commit to buying one you have to buy the other.

I dunno whether to laugh or cry.

If I was hesitant about buying this show before, then I'm completely convinced not to bother with it now.

£85 rrp! Blimey. Erm sorry Animatsu, no matter how much I'd like to support you, £170 for one series is outside of my budget!

MVM store normally knocks 25% of all pre orders which will make it about £64 so hopefully Amazon or base will knock a bit more sometime .

I'd be willing to pay £50 at a maximum per release, and that's it. Interested to see the pricing of MVMs Fate Stay Night release in March, think it will ne the same RRP as this and they have previous with high priced Collectors Editions (A Lull in the sea)

I'm more inclined to spend the money on Blade Works after enjoying Fate Kaleid from AL (I know it's a spin off but still..) than spending the money on a show people have repeatedly called average or weak.

Yeah most Fate fans will say prism illya is weak in comparison and its very different. I wished AL got FSN UBW lol
