Kickstarter Thread - Anime & Manga Projects

Also some missing extras apparently that were meant to be included as stretch goals including a few commentaries and an alternate music track for the OVAs.

I used to be a big DP fanboy but by the time this KS came around I'd lost interest in the series and after reading about all of the bs surrounding it I'm glad I passed on it. At least I still have all the old dvd sets should I ever want to do a rewatch. BTW-DP Flash is a good series despite what many others have said about it!

Mine arrived today, glad it finally turned up, The art book is the same size as the one that was done for Aria but the contents are pretty indifferent in comparison with the Aria book, about half the pages are poorly reproduced copies of story boards, as a whole the book has a real minimum effort expended feel to it, certainly in comparison the Aria art book which is a very slickly produced book.

I know it is an old series , 45 years old now, but it doesn't feel like any effort was expended to get much in the way of a wider range of materials.

One plus it has about a third of the original sketches that were done for the top level rewards and that's kinda neat

Further Thoughts: Perhaps the Udon Entertainment art book for Bubblegum Crisis is a fairer comparison than the Aria one as Aria is a much more recent series. BGC is similar age to Dirty Pair but the art book has vastly superior execution and good cross section of available materials.

You aren't the only one - still no movement with my set either. I was planning to wait until tomorrow evening and then send a message to them just to be sure my order wasn't overlooked.

I don't think I've seen anyone get the book yet, maybe I just haven't noticed though. I got all the blu rays and the book in my initial pledge so I wonder if that has something to do with it. Did you get the book too? It's just a guess.

Edit: I saw someone got their book today so there goes that theory. The wait continues.

Got my email too, it's supposed to be arriving tomorrow. Also:

"Hello Backers!

It has come to our attention that some customers may have received incorrectly labeled discs as part of the Dirty Pair Features Blu-ray. Some of the disc labels are reversed on theAffair of Nolandia and Flight 005 Conspiracy discs.

Also, the Japanese 5.1 audio on episode 24 on some of the Dirty Pair TV Series Blu-rays may have an issue and instead play the audio from episode 23.

If you have encountered either of these issues, we are working to get replacement discs to you as soon as we can. You won’t need to do anything as we will send replacements out for everyone. So even if you haven’t had the time to watch your discs yet or if you haven’t received yours yet, we’re still going to send replacements to you. Next week, we will share more information on timing of these replacement discs as soon as we have confirmation from our suppliers.

Thank you"

Got an email saying this. It looks like everyone will be getting replacement discs sent out to them for the incorrectly labeled discs and the disc with the incorrect Japanese audio on episode 24 so that's good news. We don't even need to do anything. I really wasn't expecting them to bother to be honest.

At least they are doing replacement discs to hopefully fix this, unlike the UK version of Classroom of the Elite S1 which has no English subtitles for one full episode and hasn't been and presumably never will be fixed.

I'm actually surprised they are fixing the discs with the wrong labeling. That's an annoyance but is something that is seldom fixed and not just with Crunchyroll.

They aren't bothering to fix it? That's a whole episode made unwatchable if you don't know Japanese.

As far as I know nothing was done.

It was first brought up here:

I verified the issue and brought it up again here:
Defective or Disappointing UK Anime Discs

I never contacted Crunchyroll since I don't live in the UK so expected to just be told I am out of luck anyway, but based on the above follow up posts they didn't even acknowledge the issue.

Crunchyroll UK either just doesn't care or they expect everyone to be happy watching the dub. I later got the OOP Crunchyroll US set which doesn't have the issue but has slightly inferior video quality.
