Code Geese: Lulus of the Rebellion 1-5

"The basic outline of the project is this: What if Batman was Che Guevara, but also a hypnotist?"
I'm glad I go back through threads on occasion, because I'd have hated to have never read this most accurate summation of the premise of Geass. :D

Outlaw Star discs 4 and 5. Very surprised this show only got a 12 rating. The infamous hot springs episode on disc 5 has a couple of the female characters running about totally starkers, boobies bouncing all over the place! I remember even CNX skipped that one on first broadcast and it was airing in a nighttime slot. Still, it's a good show with enjoyable plots and strong, likeable characters. Good stuff.

I remember when Eva was coming out I was constantly thinking stuff that got a 15 maybe should of been 18, 12 should of been 15 etc. Seems like the BBFC don't think most stuff is as serious as we perhaps think it is.

For example as I recall it's only really Aisha you see naked, and it's not done in a serious/sexual manner so it doesn't rate that highly. The sexy poses by a character later on don't actually involve any nudity as such.

Oh you definitely see Melfina starkers in one of the last episodes after 20 odd of her protecting her modesty! The BBFC has some very random ratings sometimes, that one just stood out because the offending episode got pulled from an adult orientated anime channel back in the day.

Now talking of something that totally deserves it's 18 rating, time for some Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt. :D

Haganai Next ep 10. Looks like we're getting near the end.
Nearly finished Princess Resurrection. Watched most of this in two massive sessions as I've got UFO Ultramaiden Valkyrie next.
Needless specials. At about 2 min a pop they weren't too bad I just hope that they are extras on the second half disc set.

Panty & Stocking disc 1: Ah so funny. And FUNi should be praised for not reducing the rudery, but picking it up and running with it to even more rude heights. Humour can be notorious for not travelling well, so although I usually look down on dubs that stray too far from the Japanese, in this case bolstering the script with jokes that Westerners would get, means they keep the madcap lunancy while staying in the spirit.

The Getbackers series 1 discs 1 and 2: Another fun show, with a very interesting, diverse cast of likeable characters. The first couple of discs showcase Ban and Ginji going up against those characters as enemies, before joining up with them for the epic "Limitless Fortress" arc that takes up the rest of series 1.

Hoshi no Koe - Remains powerful even after several viewings (although I think it is nearly five years since I last watched it). I don't fully agree with some people's opinion that you can watch this and not need to watch any of Shinkai's feature length efforts, but it is impressive how he managed to solidify his main ideas into this 25 minute piece.

Chihayafuru e.23 - Forgot that I still had a couple of episodes of the first series of this to watch! The emotions in this show are wonderful, and subtly varied - Nishida's inner conflict about whether to root for Chihaya or Yumin, Hiroshi's touching breakdown when Harada walks in after his loss, they all come from a similar competitive passion and respect for that same drive within the people they know, but it manifests itself very individually in each circumstance.

This weekend is a continuation of last weekend

Strike Witches 5-6 (a rewatch but now in BD)
Kampher 6-12 - Looked like it wasn't going anywhere but managed to pull something together for Ep11. Enjoyable but it's not hooked me like other shows where I'm wishing there was a 2nd series waiting in the wings.
Steins Gate 6-12 - Pretty fantastic, things are just starting to escalate.

Now I have a week to consider what to put into 2 of the 3 viewing slots, I might deliberately hold the 2nd half of Steins Gate in reserve for a bit.

The Place Promised In Our Early Days on Crunchyroll.

I don't know what was missing, but this just never clicked with me. I never quite bought into the concept of the film, and the constant skips in time really hurt the flow of the story.

Shame, really - I was expecting to be blown away given some of the comments I've read about the movie.

This is probably going to shock a few people cause some of them know I can't stand seed, well so far I like seed destiny so far
Soon you will want to take Shinn Asuka by the throat and choke him. He's more annoying than Shinji...

Barefoot Gen 2 yesterday. Better than I expected. I liked the growing sense of optimism running through the despair, and the children showing the beginnings of change in Japan's ideology.

I'm also on disc 3 of Gundam Seed Destiny. So far it seems like more of the same really, good but not brilliant. And Cagalli is starting to annoy me, she really needs to grow a spine and stop letting the politicians push her around.

Psycho Pass - Episode 21

Robotics;Notes - Episode 21

Neither Psycho Pass nor Robotics;Notes feel like they will be finishing next week. I reckon the Last episodes will most likely be kinda rushed and leave more to be desired.

I completely agree with you on that, Mangaranga!

The Getbackers series 1 discs 3-5. The epic Limitless Fortress arc plays out with lots of cool fights and ridiculously named attacks. And good lord the show has a set of homosexual subtexts as blatant as those in Puella Magi Madoka Magica! (This is a GOOD thing by the way. Diversity is always nice to see) I'm going to hold off on series 2 for a few days as I have a guest for the next few days and I wanna marathon it.

Sabu to Ichi Torimono Hikae episode 1-Another classic oldie finally gets fansubbed this series dates back to 1968(the manga ran from 1966-1972),this is fantastic, there is 52 episodes so might take awhile for the series to be completed but i,ll be eagerly anticipating future episodes, the actual series is an adaption of the manga of the same name, the manga was written by Shotaro Ishinomori(Cyborg 009)and the tv series was directed by Rintaro.
