Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba: Swordsmith Village Arc (Japanese audio) - Episodes 1-4

Due to work and those showcases I've not been able to watch any new anime over the weekend but one that I did want to get through was the latest season of Demon Slayer. Interesting departure of sorts as we just have Tanjuro without his buddies which I find to be a positive otherwise we would have had the same repeated gags over and over once again.

The season ends this weekend so I plan to catch-up in time for it.

Heavenly Delusion (Japanese audio) - Episodes 1-4

I ran a poll on Twitter for which four shows I should start first and this one won by a large margin. I've been aware of the manga for a few years now but this anime is really good. If you're interested in the story concepts for The Promised Neverland and The Last of Us then you'll love what this series has to offer. There's also LGBT themes which is interesting to see. Watching it on Disney+ and using the player for anime which was concerning at first due to how their first anime titles had dubtitles but this one had the proper subtitles which was handy.

Unrelated to the series but I do plan to watch the other three shows I listed in the poll that I made (Dead Mount Death Play, Hell's Paradise: Jigokuraku, I Got a Cheat Skill in Another World), so those will be watched soon. I don't want to overdo it otherwise it would feel like forcing myself to watch it for the sake of it, but when the opportunity is right I will check them out. Also do let me know if My Home Hero is worth a watch as I'm interested in watching that series as well.

The Venture Bros. Season 3 - Still very entertaining, will prob watch Season 4 soon :)

The Quintessential Quintuplets Season 2 (English dubbed) - Heartwarming and cute, I hope the movie gets a UK Blu-ray release soon :)

Sing a Bit of Harmony (English dubbed) - I enjoyed this and it was well dubbed, it got me all emotional near the end. It probably could have been even better and I will watch it in Japanese with Eng sub at some point to compare, but it was def worth seeing :)

Street Fighter (1994) - Actually I think this is better than people say as it kept me entertained for it's entire runtime! I don't usually give numerical ratings to things on here but I'd rate it like a 6 or 7/10 not 4/10 like it has on the IMDb, it's a fun, silly sort of film, and i also give it credit for having it's heart in the right place. Like DGMW the acting quality is variable but eh I had a good time with it :)

Heavenly Delusion - Episodes 6-8 [English Audio]
This keeps amping up the intrigue, sorta astonished in a way this on Disney+ though. Episode 8 in particular is just terrific.

Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard King [English Audio]
This was fun, it is more or less what you would expect for a film where its original for the anime and also takes place before where TV anime is currently, but it is an excuse for the series characters to show up and have more of an animation budget to boot. Perhaps its too padded, but I had a good time.
What is really awesome though is, despite being on Netflix, all of the English cast from the Funimation/Crunchyroll dub return (well over 2 dozen here, no Takagi-san Season 2 or Saiki K style recasts) and it has the sound of that dub retained here too. All the new cast members fit in and just having Steve Blum as one of Conrads' goons is kinda wild and seems like a fancast with unrealistic expectations, but it actually happened. Great job all around.

Dead Mount Death Play (Japanese audio) - Episodes 1-3

From the creator of Baccano! and Durarara!! comes a reverse isekai story with a pretty intriguing premise. Not many are talking about this series from what I've seen, but it's definitely got the Durarara!! vibe in terms of the setting and tone. There's a lot of comedic expressions and fanservice sprinkled throughout but what we have on offer is promising. This is also a split-cour series, so Episodes 13-24 will air this Autumn.

I Got a Cheat Skill in Another World and Became Unrivaled in The Real World, Too (Japanese audio) - Episodes 1-3

Somehow this was made by the creator of The Fruit of Evolution, and you wouldn't notice it. I'll give credit where credit is due, because this isekai is like a hybrid between our world and another world so it's not a reincarnation or summoned tactic like most stories are, but we do have Yoshitsugu Matsuoka voicing our main lead who fits the role really well. The other credit I want to highlight is its rather distinct art style, which stands out a lot from the rest of the isekai out there and I really like how its translated here in anime form, especially with the CG scenes. The budget is obviously low but because of how nice the artwork is, I actually don't mind the panning still shots you have throughout. I look forward to the harem that is incoming.
