I haven't seen In/Spectre but in fairness that is basically the entire structure of Death Note (which is also 90% dialogue) and it's one of the most compelling shows ever made!
I was thinking that as I made the point, but the stakes are much higher in Death Note. With certain limitations Kira could almost kill anyone anywhere in the world whereas in In/Spectre the killer ghost was very local to one part of one city and only killed one person in the end.

Fair. I guess it goes to show what effect having proper stakes has on a story! Death Note also managed to find a way to present one character monologueing as exciting. The mix of visuals, music and v/o performance all raise the energy level of having one character explain their thoughts to the audience for a significant amount of time.

Writing down names and eating potato chips have never been so compelling! 😁

Violet Evergarden Gaiden: Eternity and the memory Doll - It was alright but it does not reach the heights of the show even the animation isnt special my big problem like with Sound Oath Promise why is this film not a show. I feel in episode form it would have worked better. 7/10

Heaven's Lost Property Forte
More silly, at times inappropriate, highjinks from the gang.

Heaven's Lost Property: The Angeloid of Clockwork
I understand why it's done in terms of introducing this movies new heroine but did the first 40mins of this movie really have to be a recap of the series! After that it was good though.

Clones Wars Season 2
So much better than season1. Better art, animation, stories. All if it really.

Brass Eye: Science, Sex and Crime episodes
This show can be so insane. I'm not sure the sex epsiode would get made today in the same way for instance.

I found the japanese bluray raws someplace (I leave it to your imagination where) and synced available subtitles to the individual episode m2ts streams.

Asteroid in Love ep 12 (complete)
Summer trip comes to an end.
Another well put together Doga Kobo show with likeable and cute characters, light edutainment and a little bit of light drama.
Another show from this season that I wouldn't mind having a second season of.
8/10

ep 13 (complete)
Big reveal and discovery.
Oft confusing, but had some interesting ideas.
7/10

Kakushigoto
ep 1
Watch out for the Fancypeeps!
Some funny moments in this episode as we're introduced to a father trying to hide the fact that he's a mangaka from his daughter.

A Certain Scientific Railgun T episode 10 An unexpected friendship.

Bungo and Alchemist -Gears of Judgement- episode 1 “What is this a crossover episode?!”

Haikyu!: To The Top episode 13 Casual admittance. (Complete. Another very enjoyable season, and one of my favourite ongoing sports anime.) 4/5

Listeners
episode 1 Seems familiar but could turn out well

Sakura Wars The Animation episode 1 I found the 2000 anime to be decent so hopefully this’ll be good too.

Wave, Listen to Me! episode 1 Radio radio.

Vatican Examiner Miracle episodes 7-12 & OVA (Complete. A series that sure goes places with its storylines, all whilst retaining a unique feel courtesy of the Vatican theming.) 3.5/5

Wakaba*Girl
episodes 1-14 (Complete. A Harmless and sometimes saccharine story about a fish out of water girl trying to fit in at a new school. Not much else to say, it was comfy and fun overall.) 3/5

Listeners ep 1
Seems like a steam punky mecha show based in a post apocalyptic pastiche of England with nods to rock music.

Wave, Listen to Me! ep 1
Shock jock. Not really getting much from this so far, we'll see how it goes.

Arte ep 1
I draw, therefore I am.
Seems like an underdog story. Could go a few ways either a straight SOL as the protag gets used to a new lifestyle and mets new people or a romance as she chips away at the gruff exterior of the Leo. MAL has both listed in the genre.

My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom! ep 1
Isekai that's similar in some ways to Ascendance, but in other ways is the complete opposite. So female lead in a fantasy world with magic who uses her knowledge of her previous life to get what she wants, but is in high society instead of working class and has much higher stakes than wanting to read books.

Ascendance of a Bookworm 2 ep 1
Into the lion's den.

Sing "Yesterday" for Me ep 1
Seems like an interesting, more adult oriented, SOL show. A college grad doesn't know what to do with himself and is working part-time and then 2 women come into his life. The tone and the interesting style of the art is something very different from the other Doga Kobo shows I've seen.

It sure looks like a good demo for the potential of 4K anime but that aside it's an assault on the eyes and not really long enough to leave an impression. 4/10

Nisemonogatari
[Rewatch] episodes 1-7

Magia Record: Puella Magi Madoka Magica Side Story episode 13 - End
A great spinoff with some interesting twists on the setting established in the main series. With that wild cliffhangar of an ending I'm excited for season 2. 8/10

Gal & Dino ep1

This is rather sweet, I think? It's far more wholesome, but you can tell it's very clearly the same folk behind Pop Team Epic.

Wave, Listen to Me! ep1

Despite always having liked Hiroaki Samura's artwork, I never got into Blade of the Immortal - this feels more like something I can get behind.

Ascendance of a Bookworm Part 2 episode 15 Great to see this back again.

Arte episode 1 A historical anime with an artistic flare.

Gal & Dino episode 1 I have no idea what to make of this but it has a charm to it.

My Hero Academia Fourth Season episode 88 Fire fly. (Complete. A similar pattern of the key storyline being in the first half of the season and the second giving way for more training/school based content. A decent season but not as strong as what’s come before.) 3.5/5

My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes lead to Doom!
episode 1 Ascendance of a villainess?

Sing “YESTERDAY” For Me episode 1 Yesterday, they gave some convenience food away...

Wolf’s Rain episodes 1-6
