ps. What the hell was with Misa's little song in ep. 25 though? Are they hoping to do "Death Note The Musical" next?
I realise full well that this is rhetorical, yet I feel an compelling need to answer. It simple comes down to fanservice, the same as the Light x L foot cleansing scene. Misa is voiced by the stupendously popular Aya Hirano. Plus, I assume, time-filling...

GTO episodes 13-21

**** YES, YOU ARE THE BEST TEACHER EVER.

Second opening is great too, much better than the first which is like... a guilty pleasure.

Death Note 25-28

Transition episodes I suppose, so they were bound to focus more on setting the new stage than moving the plot forward - which makes it even more odd that Manga chose this as the only 4 episode release.

Bringing in new characters half way through a series can be hit and miss, but they managed to pull it off quite well. Of the new introductions, Near so far seems more or less identical to L but Mello looks to be an different kind of character altogether. Yes, I'm still suitably intrigued.

You might wanna spoiler tag the parts I have above.
Why are character introductions spoilers? I don't think I implied anything about L's death. But maybe I have now... :p

Better safe than sorry though ;)

I'm now up to Code Geass R2 ep 14

Its enjoyable, not great but, enjoyable.

The Misa song, like the Light x L scenes, were added by Madhouse. In the manga it pretty much just jumped from Rem's realization to Ladies night. Although the feet washing scene was really a bit stupid when L would never accept defeat, I liked the conversation they had before on the roof, and the Misa singing sequence wasn't bad.

The scene where Light told Ryuk more interesting things would happwn and went into opera mode was also very well done filler. In the manga Light simply Ryuk in passing when he was walking down the street with Misa, and the deaths of the people he killed on the roof in the anime weren't shown in the manga (they were killed, though).

Mello's a better character than Near but he gets wasted; used as a plot device. He's a great character until he goes out of the picture until the end, after he stars in one of the best episodes -- one which will be at the start of the next disc.

Well finished Planetes, god it takes me ages watching stuff with the wife.

Anyway... What a good series.

I was told about this by a guy who used to work an CityCyberAnime before it shut down. He said, its set in space, its about debris collectors and its very good.

He was spot on :D

The animation was very good too, the up close stuff was superb.

Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai eps 14-24 wow...just...wow, that ending was well deserved, its been a long time since i saw a show that made me want to see the next episode straight away, but this sucked me in. Although i found the adult Rika at the end to be a little scary :p

It was good enough for me to watch through the 25 episodes but like most anime it had its flaws. I thoroughly enjoyed the soundtrack but I should have expected it; compsed by Joe Hisaishi (Ghibli).

The plot was a bit confusing at times but I liked all but one of the main cast; Jim(what an ****-hole!). Mint was my favourite character, mostly due to her VA. The action got a bit tedious after a while but it was saved by the characters.

I tried to watch The Place Promised in Our Early Days, but I fell asleep half way through, I have to admit, I had had a busy day and it was quite late, but from what I saw it looked good.

Just watched Skip Beat 19. It keeps getting funnier and funnier. It's the showdown between Kyoko and Sho. I can't help but love this series - so many unexpected things happened.

Higurashi no Naku Koro ni special: Nekogoroshi- Was okay i suppose since it was just a stand alone tale i shouldn't of expected too much from it, it had its moments though.

Code Geass R2 23-25

This has been an 8/10 show all the way through for me, being dissapointed by the unneccessary fan service, but that ending was brilliant. A fitting way to end the show. That last 5 episodes of this show really shined.

I'm now debating whether its 9/10, or 10/10

I also finished Code Geass R2. I gave it a 8/10 to episode 24, but the final episode was truly awesome, so I upped the score to 9/10.

Another series I finished is Genshiken, which was really interesting. It was fun throughout and an easy watch, although some episodes (especially the last episode) it got a bit tiresome so I've given it an 8/10. I'll probably watch the OVA's now, then move onto season 2, then perhaps watch Kujibiki Unbalance (it's the anime they are always watching on the show, I lol'd at it quite alot so I might like it).

Now I'm going to continue watching Claymore or Fullmetal Alchemist (both of which I'm at episode 2 of). Hmm, the decisions..

but the reason R2 was a 8/10 show because it didn't have enough fan service :(

Higurashi no naku koro ni kai - eps 15 to 24. I'll wait for a week, then if I still feel the same about this show, it will go straight to #1 on my top ten list.

Currently wathing Full Metal Panic Vol.1

Since everyone is watching R2 it seems, I finally decided to start on my Blu-rays and watched the first five eps last night (with a couple more to come in a minute, once the kettle's boiled).

Great fun! Lelouch kicks ass when he gets going. Nice quick and easy explanation of wtf was going on (I was hoping they weren't going to drag that out too long), and as anyone who knows me knows, I'm a fan, and I love fanservice! Comedy gold moments aplenty.

/keenly searches for doujinshi of Villetta giving swimming lessons

You overlooked the illogical plot twists and how the people in charge forced the story back into filler school. I was half expecting you to notice and be bothered by the flaws since I recall you making some decent posts on EuroSheep.net, but I guess not.

I find fan service distracting in anime. I like to keep entertainment and pornographic entertainment separate. When I'm watching anime I'm in serious mode, and when I'm looking on Danbooru for images of Kallen in her bunny girl outfit I'm in not-so-serious mode. If both are mixed together then it ruins the experience, for me at least. And seeing the female characters used as objects degrades the characters (Kallen was ruined in R2) and makes the anime itself less respectable.

I've been continuing to rewatch Ah! My Goddess and, since the incorrectly described 'remastered' set arrived, I've also been rewatching Berserk.

Ah! My Goddes is as charming as it was the first time I watched it, its only flaw being that it lacks memorable events due to its light-hearted, episodic nature. I should finally be done with rewatching it either today or tomorrow, it depends on how I feel later today.

Berserk has been what I know it to be -- fantastic. It's a little boring rewatching it for the 4th or 5th time because I know exactly what's going to happen but it's still excellent to watch. Rewatching it has made me want to rewatch Gungrave, my old #1 and a series I haven't watched in a looooong time now.
