Jormungand Eps 11-17 with the next door neighbors again tonight. We had the buttkickers in the sofa going to town again with all the gunshots and explosions and firefights... :cool:

None of us are into the new OP and ED at all for this season though, so unlike last season we have been skipping past them all.
 
Island ep1 - Dreadful first episode. The animation was good but the story was a proper mess. I don't find it intriguing more confusing than anything. I sense this will be the first drop of the season.

Just Hallow to go now. For the most part if I’m honest this has just felt like one massive slog. From the beginning it lacked tension for me.
it was obvious but players on both sides were expendable and the major players were pretty much safe no matter what. They either get an upgrade or someone else turns up to bail them out
overall it was on the low side of average for me, if they could have gotten me to feel more engaged then I think it would have worked very well.

A decent episode, FranXX has gained some consistency in the last few episodes, it'll be interesting to see how it concludes.
 
The Disastrous Life of Saiki K ep6-7

Needed something I could watch offline, so switched to Netflix for these eps. Gave me a chance to try the dub, which is surprisingly good and solves the problem of non-subbed dialogue in the scenes where characters are talking over each other, but still no captions for onscreen text. Come on guys, try harder.

I find Netflix subs to be generally not great for reading either. The outline is too thin, and the text sizes are too far apart. The medium size is fairly small and the large subs assume you're visually impaired and take up half the screen, with no middle ground.

Full Metal Panic! Invisible Victory episode 8 Holy sh*t this series continues to have balls, though I couldn't say I didn't expect that to happen.

Hanebado! episode 1 A decent looking sports anime. MC will likely become less of an ass as things progress.

Kakuriyo -Bed&Breakfast for Spirits- episode 14 Ginji is beckoned to return as some drama ensues (and a clipshow.)

Steins;Gate Zero (Dub) episode 10 Hoo boy the comedic moments in this episode felt very out of place. Other than that there were some decent parts.

Adventure Time Season Four (Rewatch) episodes 21-26

The Disastrous Life of Saiki K. Season 2 episode 24 - Was that a sly confirmation of season 3 I spotted there? 9/10

Flip Flappers episodes 10-13 - Honestly an absolute hidden gem of a series. Everything from the music, direction, art, and animation to the voice acting, story and character design was pretty much perfect. Definitely due a rewatch at some point because of all that symbolism and just because it's so flipping fantastic. I'll never tire from Flip Flap Flip Flap as the ending theme.

Time to give the "booklet" a full read now 9/10
 
Jormungand Eps 18-20 tonight, third night in a row with my next door neighbors, they didn't have a lot of time this evening so we only got through 3 episodes, but they were really good ones... 4 more episodes to go, maybe we'll finish the series off tomorrow night? So what the heck am I going to show these military folk next to top their enthusiasm for Jormungand and Black Lagoon?? I still need to show them Requiem for the Phantom, Gunslinger Girls, Darker than Black, Ajin, Attack on Titan, Joker Game, ACCA 13, Ergo Proxy, Texhnolyze, Patlabor movies, and maybe...um, Gate? I don't know, lol...

Thought I'd give it a go as the second one was on Crunchyroll but that started of with a POV of me eyeing up a schoolgirl so no thanks :eek:

Episode felt longer then it needed to be definitely get a sense of padding here.

First cour down, didn't go in the direction expected after #3 thankfully, the whole mansion mystery was definitely the strongest part of this cour. Long wait until mid September now!

Better than D.Gray man but enemies still seemed to lack any threat and it kind of just... stopped at the end.

Clockwork planet 1-8
Fairly mediocre, enjoy the concept of so many cog based things but nothing especially spectacular about the show itself to mention.

Also caught up on the simuldubs for;
Kakuriyo,
Basilisk season 2,
Dances with the dragons,
FMP invisible victory,
Black clover.

Still thoroughly enjoying FMP, give me more FMP! A pity the best episodes of basilisk have been the last, they’ve still not been great just better than the others and definitely not enough to save the show from being awful.

I admire your dedication to watching Basilisk The Ouka Ninja Scrolls, I'm still glad I dropped it ages ago.

I wouldn’t have been able to stomach it unless I was limited to an episode a week. Seriously wish the franchise wasn’t dug up and reanimated.
