That sounds very similar to my experience of the show. As time went on, I felt like I cared infinitely less about Yang and Reinhard than the temporary characters who'd pop up in the one-off episodes. It's a series with a lot of wonderfully observed little moments, but I just find the main thrust of it so very dry.

Yeah, this was like my experience with LotGH as well, I really enjoyed the first series but I got started to find the second series repetitive and it just didn't hold my attention as a narrative and so far I just haven't been able to go back to it for the third series.

Huh, weird, I never got a notification for you quoting me there.

Mmm. The odd thing is I do quite like watching stuff about military strategy, political manoeuvring and socio-political issues, but it's somehow far less interesting to me as fiction, at least without a real human drama element involving compelling characters. I'd sooner watch Ken Burns' The Civil War again.

I'm going to take a break from LotGH I think, I watched the first three episodes of Girls' Last Tour last night and to my great shame cute girls doing post-apocalyptic things held my attention much better.

I didn't think Girls Last Tour worked in chunks like that which made me regret not watching it weekly.

Tokyo Ghoul: re ep 9

Tokyo Ghoul: Pinto
How Shu and Chie met when at high school. Chie really doesn't care about anything but taking photos even as she plumits to her death!

Tokyo Ghoul: Jack
How Arima and Fura met at high school. I figured the twist just before it was revealed, but Hitomi being attacked by the hairdresser makes no sense other than to throw the viewer off the scent ;-) because he should have known she was a ghoul from her smell.

TadaKoi ep 9
Teresa's in denial.

WotaKoi ep 8
Losing your game save data does indeed scar you for life 😧

Comic Girls ep 9
The girls continue to help each other out.

Megalo Box ep 9
Having ignored the laws of biology with how many times Joe gets a beating and still gets up, they're now ignoring the rules of boxing! No way a referee would allow a fighter to continue if he just stood there without putting up a defence!

Cardcaptor Sakura Clear Card (Dub) Episode 18
 WOW! Going so far to make "A Pokemon Movie Reference."

Comic Girls (Sub) Episode 9
Taking a break from the stresses of work.

Doreiku The Animation (Sub) Episode 8
Risking everything to gain everything.

Lost Song (Sub) Episode 9

Megalo Box (Sub) Episode 9
Overcoming your limits and showing your mettle.

Tada Never Falls in Love (Sub) Episode 9
Well.... that was emotional, but poor Teresa having to put aside her feelings for duty.

Wotakoi: Love is Hard for Otaku (Sub) Episode 8
That moment you realize your relationship isn't normal.

Boruto: Naruto Next Generation episode 60 Sarada continues to be more likeable than her mother, and Sasuke makes a capable but moody sensei.

Comic Girls episode 9 Kaos is a pervy old man at heart and someone else asides from her is criticised for their manga for once.

Megalo Box episode 9 Does Joe have observation Haki or something? Dude is like Homer Simpson running on pure endurance.

Wotakoi: Love is Hard for Otaku episode 8 Hirotaka hates thunder and has relatable doubts about his relationship.

The Disastrous life of Saiki K. episodes 10-18 This is hilarious.

Megalobox ep9

That was a box most megalo.

Cutie Honey Universe ep8

It feels like every time I go to write this show off, it pulls something out of the bag, but I do wish it were more consistent.

Granblue Fantasy The Animation (Dub) Episode 8 - 11

Photo Kano (Sub) Episode 5 - 13 (Complete) (Blu-ray)
An enjoyable series that blends Photography, Romance, School, Slice of Life and Drama, that mainly focuses on the Photography-Romance- School side of the story enhanced by the very good animation courtesy of MADHOUSE. Overall a pleasing series that is a enjoyable watch for anyone who enjoys a romance show. 7/10

•A recommendation for those who watched and liked Amagami SS & Amagami SS+.

Grimoire of Zero (1-2)
So there's one sorceror called "Albus" and another called "Him" which feels slightly familiar. Then when she's casting a spell the magic words include things like Audi and Fiat. Then I nearly choked when they were talking to the mayor.

It just sort of feels like some of this has been done before

My Hero Academia 46 - didn't really get Ida's speech there since my brother came in and ruined it, but I can't wait to see Bakugo blow the villian's hideout a new back door
Hinamatsuri 1-2 - very much my kind of slice of life show, I reckon I'll keep watching this one. there's just something about Anzu's intro though...

Completed saiki k 1st season of 24 eps, hilarious at moments, where the main focus, saiki, often goes a long way to avoid anime cliches while having a class full of them.
I was only watching that to await the delivery of...

Batman Ninja and from what I remember of this sites review I'm inclined to agree, there's lots of anime tropes there and the characters don't really recognise them but the main focus is on the western cast of heroes and villains, it shouldn't really alienate usual DC fans as the tropes batman, his enemies and his friends usual fall into follow them into the film.
Before the final battle begins, there is a change to hand drawn animation to quite a touching scene in the film, and well, it's odd the animators chose to do that for about 10 minutes, but then it's off to whatever the characters are doing about the climactic battle.
The fights, many of them throughout the film, look superb, it's what you get when you ask for a Japanese studio for your animation, I'd like to compare it to something but all I can think of is one of the final fights in the last season of rwby.
The only downside to these fights is that, while there is quite a developed fight between joker and batman (there always is in any DC event/film) some of the other fights don't last long or aren't that impressive.
I really do think if they wanted so many villains in batman ninja, they would have done better stretching it out into a longer series/event, showing batman and his friends investigating other villains giving them a more developed motivation to be where they are.

Girls' Last Tour Episodes 4-7

I guessed they were going to find Smash, Smash is very much of the forefront of my mind right now as I'm currently living off it and soup after a tooth extraction. Not certain how appetising salt filled, sugar coated Smash baked until hard would be, but I guess at the end of the world you have to take what you can get.

This feels like someone dropped a couple of Azumanga Daioh characters, or maybe an older and slightly subdued Miu and Chika from Strawberry Marshmallow into Kino's Journey. I'm liking it a lot.

Akkun to Kanojo (Sub) Episode 9

Beatless Episode 20

Katana Maidens (Sub) Episode 21

Lostorage Conflated WIXOSS (Sub) Episode 9
