Napping Princess
I saw this at the cinema and really enjoyed it. You could probably watch this as just a fantasy adventure, but there was an extra layer added to it with Kenji Kamiyama's favourite cross-generational politics making an appearance, along with a side-swipe at the workings of Japan's corporate world. It was fun seeing one of the director's classic ideas make a cameo, with the 'magic' tablet in the real world functioning something like the Noblesse phones in Eden of the East. The finale looked like it was heading for some kind of feel-good cliché, but Kamiyama had one last twist in store!
I even had some company for the film, so that was nice, too.
And you've got to love that self-driving motorbike with sidecar!
