Mobile Police Patlabor: The New Files ep16 (complete). I want more
Maybe you already know this but the "Maiden Japan" releases can be played on region B players with the Sentai method. They're barebones but seem to be fine if you just want to watch the show. They might also cost a bit more than similar releases, although it's a good enough show that it's worth it anyway.

Himouto! Umaru-Chan ep1

Cute, but I don't think it's for me. I just felt sorry for her brother, more than anything else.
I'd be tempted to suggest giving it another couple of episodes. Sure, things are rough for Onii-chan sometimes but I kind of feel that the show does right by him most of the time. It maybe does depend how much you read into some of the little moments though, there does seem to be genuine affection between Onii-chan and Umaru. I think they both know the lines in their relationship and it seems to work for them, though I guess that doesn't matter if you just think they have the lines wrong.

I watched Michiko and Hatchin Episodes 1-8.
It's been pretty good so far. The main characters are very easily likeable (despite one of them being an inconsiderate criminal) and it's interesting to see them interact. I think Hatchin kind of steals the show all the time but Michiko has her moments.

I like the character designs and I always like it when a show has people wearing different outfits (there are a lot of good ones here) rather than the same clothes all the time.

The world the show is set in seems like kind of a terrible place to live, although it's interesting that the show still manages to squeeze some nice moments out of it as well.

It seems like it's going to be one of those shows where the journey is more important than the destination. I'm okay with that and I'm looking forward to seeing more.

Himouto is my absolute guilty pleasure of the season. It's probably the closest thing we'll get to another season of Oreimo too - even if it doesn't go 'there'... which is probably for the better. I just really like the way all the side-characters get their time to shine too, and while Umaru's constant 'bullying' of her brother is pretty distasteful at times, I feel the constant references to games/manga etc are fun to spot and genuinely funny for the most part too.

Macross 1x01 - 1x14 Finally finished subbing/dubbing the JP release so now working my way through - unsurprisingly a VAST improvement over the DVDs.

Evangelion 1x01 - 1x03 - Absolutely stunning PQ. It looks simply fantastic! :thumb:

And so my catch up begins.

Gakkou Gurashi-Episode 8

A slightly weaker episode than normal but in comparison to what's come before, it's a high bar. The reveal at the end was certainly interesting though. It raises a lot of questions fairly late in the game and I just hope it can answer them all before the series concludes.

Gakkou Gurashi-Episode 9

A more enjoyable episode then 8. I enjoyed the poolside shenanigans (Although I wish the pool episode wasn't right after that ending last week) and I found the flashback scene and the scene with Miki and Touroumaru to be pretty touching. Oh and that ending. I am excited to see this week's just to see the resolution of that ending AND episode 8's ending. Also, this episode didn't really make me feel uncomfortable like a couple of people mentioned a few pages back. I'm not sure if that makes me a bad person or not.

Finished series 13 of Bleach. Getting close to the end of the Arrancar arc now I think, dunno if I should be happy or sad to be honest lol while I'm one of the first to point out Bleach is just silly fun, I still enjoy it quite a bit (I mean, my avatar is a character from Bleach after all). But anyway this was a enjoyable series with a really oddly placed filler episode near the end.

On a side note, every time I see Unohana I get a little sad that she never really gets much screen time and that the stuff that goes down in the Manga involving her will likely never be animated :( shame, would love to have seen it.

Anyway I have a few days off this week so gonna try catch up on some stuff now.

GOD EATER - Episode 03

I feel like the show could benefit from maybe telling us what the hell is actually going on. Everything about this show feels vague, not in a way that's mysterious, in a way that says "we clearly haven't thought any of this through". It's not even making any moves to tell us what's going on either, I feel like the set-up still won't have been completely established, even in it's thirteenth episode (if it even gets one), and that's a problem for me.

Hunter x Hunter - Episode 10

The Hisoka/Examiner fight scene and Leorio's stroppy teenage voice were personal highlights for me this episode, but the very very very slight echo/reverb effect on the female prisoner challenging Leorio was quite irritating and as far as I'm concerned the sooner this character goes, and I never have to hear the voice again, the better.

I was thinking at the beginning of the episode that it would nice to finally see Leorio do something that isn't played for laughs and doesn't accidentally backfire on them. Fortunately, the episode did some work on that front, and the events at the end of the episode were a start, but I'd like to see more, so hopefully next episode will deliver.

Also, not sure Just Awake can be considered good by any definition of the word, but I do really like it now.

Baby Steps s2 ep23.

The Devil is a Part-Timer ep1-4.

The Heroic Legend of Arslan ep22.

I forgot about those, mostly because I didn't realise they could be played on UK devices. I'm sure there will never be a UK release so those are very tempting indeed.

Silent Mobius - Episodes 16 & 17

Well, after looking like it was getting into a more continuous arc Silent Mobius has gone back to character centric episodes!

Kodocha episodes 41 to 48

Bring on the final 3 episodes of season 2, I have a feeling they are going to be emotional.

Just a mad show, but has a good underlining story, although it appears to be a Funimation 'dumped' series with only the first 2 "seasons" released (so 51 episodes out of 102) which seems a shame

Monster Musume (Japanese audio) - Episode 10
Overlord (Japanese audio) - Episode 10
Jitsu wa Watashi wa (Japanese audio) - Episode 10

Yep, I still expect MonMusu to get some problems over here. This episode will cause a bit of a stir.

Overlord had some pacing issues which is a shame (Madhouse apparently tried to cram half a volume in one episode).

Jitsu wa Watashi wa (or Actually, I Am...) is a fun show to watch. It's a shame no one has licensed it yet.
