Space Dandy Season 2 Episodes 1-13 (14-26).

The character episodes were quite good again in this season, it was nice to see more of Scarlet in particular. That said, I probably liked the "Cloudian" episode least in the whole show. It was probably trying to be a character episode but it felt a bit too scattered and didn't really feel like it actually said much about the characters. To be fair, it also had an annoying laugh track (they mention where it's coming from but I'm not really sure there was an actual good reason to have it in the first place) and I suspect that put me off quite a bit.

My favourites from this season were probably the later Scarlet episode, the high school episode (though I'd like to see a version where Dandy goes in as a teacher and helps his students with their problems) and the fishing episode.

It was nice to see a few Dandy episodes that let him develop a bit, although it's a shame there wasn't as much with Meow and QT.

Overall, it was another enjoyable season. I know another season is unlikely but I think I'd like to see one.

Non Non Biyori Repeat Episode 9.

It's hard to explain how I feel about Nattsun. I like her a lot and she can be really fun to watch but she's kind of my default least favourite (at least from the main group) because I like everyone else at least a bit more. It's the same for any show of this type, there's always one character that I kind of feel bad for not liking more (but if I did then someone else would take the bottom spot). I guess maybe I secretly find it easier to like Nattsun less because she's almost as likely to be the cause of Koma-chan-Senpai's suffering as Koma-chan-Senpai herself.

Anyway, this was mostly a Nattsun episode and it was a pretty good one. Not quite as good as the sisterhood episode from season 1, perhaps, but still pretty good.

The part with Hika-nee was probably the highlight, it turns out that Nattsun and Hika-nee also make a great team. I quite like the way this season has had the characters mixing with each other a bit more and it has produced some very enjoyable results.

So few episodes left, I really hope there's another season.

Himouto! Umaru-chan Episode 9.

This was a pretty good episode, I do like Kirie and she had some good moments here. I wondered if she deliberately gave the reject cookies to Onii-chan, that would have worked too I suppose (though Kirie is probably too nice, plus if anyone would get them it should surely be Ebina).

My Love Story/Ore Monogatari Episode 22.

This episode was probably one of the best in a show that I've found consistently great.

After a very interesting setup, this episode manages to handle the subject amazingly well. I can't say it was exactly the ending that I was hoping for but in a sense it made for a better episode by going the way it did.

The show still isn't quite over yet but even so I'd strongly recommend it to anyone with the slightest hint of interest in romance stories. Maybe I'd even recommend it to people who like character driven stories in general even if they don't normally like romance because the characters are one of the strengths of the show and they're often handled extremely well.

On the downside, there are some great characters that appear in the show but it mostly only has time for the main three and whoever is involved in the current story. I guess it kind of reminds me of Space Brothers with the way it handles it's characters, though I think Space Brothers is generally a bit better at having characters come and go (though maybe that's at least partly related to the way Space Brothers is paced).

Prison School 09 - Much more tame than I've gotten used to but still a good episode, even though I felt it was one of the weaker ones.
I've read some of the upcoming scenes already this adaption should cover and I'm so ready, one of my favorite moments is being animated next week.

Hunter x Hunter - Episodes 02-09

I've been watching these over the past few days and really enjoying them, but I don't think long-running shonen shows are for me. I reach the 10/5 episode mark and just start losing patience. Do we really need 3+ episodes of them in the chamber?

I might try alternating it with something else, because that marks the third shonen series I've started in the past few months, only to drop 10-16 episodes later, despite actually enjoying it...

Chatlotte - Episode 10

Not sure how to feel about this, plot-wise the show has gone downhill for me, but emotionally it's kinda working, their appearance at the middle school was an unexpected but amusing gag. I'm also not sure what the show is going to do, now it's seemingly run out of plot. I assume we have to go through the whole 'defeating the evil scientists' thing, but I would have perhaps drawn out the rescue a bit and ended the series where this episode did...

As I said, I have no problem with the episodes themselves, I've enjoyed all of them. I don't know what it is, but I go hard for the first 10/15 episodes, and then I just lose the desire to continue.

Anyway, I'm behind on Gangsta., Durarara!!x2 and GOD EATER, so I thought I'd watch one or two of those, then give it another try.

I know what you mean. I have the same thing with Gintama. I went from watching a load a day to barely 1 a month. Still not even halfway through it.

On topic, Half way through Nichijou and sill loving it. Also, via this series, I think my yellow sub hatred has subsided. You just kind of get used to it.

Yeah, I'd say the Trick Tower episodes are probably the best thing about the first arc aside from Hisoka getting a boner every time he sees Gon - but that said, the first arc is very much the most typically Shonen of all of Hunter x Hunter, and I can imagine people being put off by it without knowing the dramatic tonal shifts the show gets into later on.

When it comes to Charlotte, I have really mixed feelings about it at this point - I definitely feel it's still one of the better series airing this season, but I feel it could be so much better if it really wanted to. I thought the most recent ep, while entertaining, was a bit of a cop out - utilising a plot device that has been done to death before.

For my money, eps 7 and 8 were the best - taking the show into the emotional despair/eventual healing/emotional depths that Clannad did at its best. I kind of wished the show had stayed more in this vein, building up the romance angle - but this seems to have been put on the backburner now.

Yesterday (4th Sept):
Prison School (Japanese audio) - Episode 09
Food Wars (Japanese audio) - Episode 22

Today (5th Sept):
Classroom☆Crisis (Japanese audio) - Episodes 08-10

Despite putting off many people with its first couple of episodes, Classroom☆Crisis is definitely one show that's certainly overlooked. **** hit the fan with the latest couple of episodes.

Charlotte (Japanese audio) - Episode 10
Gate (Japanese audio) - Episode 10

Minus the Animator Expo, My Love Story and a couple on-hold titles (Durarara!!x2, The Heroic Legend of Arslan, Ninja Slayer), I'm finally up to date with the Summer 2015 titles. I always had at least one or two titles going behind schedule.

GATE: Thus the JSDF Fought There ep10. More pro-nihon silliness, though no more silly than the typical pro-american silliness in Hollywood. Quite entertaining, but not anywhere near living up to the premise's potential. If someone could take the basic concept and turn it into a big Game of Thrones style production then it could be godly.

Mobile Police Patlabor: The New Files ep16 (complete). I want more

Ranpo Kitan: Game of Laplace ep9. This is quite interesting, but it's still very weird.

SHIMONETA: A Boring World Where the Concept of Dirty Jokes Doesn't Exist ep10. I never could stand Kosuri, and now it looks like that was probably the idea.

The iDOLM@STER: Cinderella Girls s2 ep8.

GOD EATER (Japanese audio) - Episode 07

Guess what!

EXTRA EPISODE #4 NEXT WEEK! CAUSE WE ALL WANT THAT RIGHT?

Right?

Of course not.

This series is getting dropped by everyone because of these production delays, which is a shame because these last few episodes have actually been pretty good.
