I'm only on mobile so I can't post frequent updates here in my usual format but I thought I'd still write something.

I've just started on Elfen Lied. Only seen 1 episode and I'm unsure what to make of it. The hyper violent first half really contrasted the more slice of life esque second half and it give it a kind of inconsistent tone.

Denno Coil Episode 1-6

Nice show so far, wish this had a Blu-ray as the DVD transfer from Siren Visual isn't the best imo (or maybe it's just my TV settings...who knows)

I'll rephrase, "I wish this had a USA/Eng/Aus Blu-Ray release"

You're asking for the impossible there my friend. It was only released in Australia on DVD and that's a miracle in itself. These types of shows don't get released here, even Tatami Galaxy was DVD only and never came out in the US.

I know all about that, doesn't mean I can't "wish" ;)

I thought Denno Coil was in a similar situation to Nichijou, although I could be wrong (at least they're both out on DVD in Australia). I'm still hoping someone goes back and gives both a decent Blu-ray release at some point (with English subtitles, of course).

I watched Space Dandy Episodes 7-10, 12 & 13.

Huh, I could have sworn there was another episode in there. I forget.

So, I vaguely recalled that there was a misprint on the discs of the Anime Limited Space Dandy release but, even so, I ended up putting in disc 2 without thinking. I was not prepared. I did wonder when the zany racing would get started, I figured they'd maybe find a broken down racer on the scrap planet or something. That's not what happened. Why Space Dandy, why do you do these things to me? With the dog and everything, it's like you know my weaknesses. Even the Narrator is in on it. Arrrgh!

I think I might actually recommend doing it that way, maybe the misprint was part of some clever scheme to produce this result. Anyway, for me it worked. I routinely watch episode previews these days because they don't usually give much away and they often have comedy in them, I think this is one time when not having the preview helped. In fact, having the wrong preview maybe made it even better because I thought I was all safe and knew what was coming.

I have mixed feelings about the actual racing episode, it had a lot of great moments (especially some of the references) but it also felt a bit choppy and inconsistent. Having an overload of eyecatches in the episode might have been the problem, at least partly because it caused me to have flashbacks to the Nadia filler episodes (the horror).

I particularly liked the Meow and QT focussed episodes, although I'd say I enjoyed all of the episodes quite a bit. The part where they were counting crew members was especially funny.

I've been enjoying the show a lot so far. It's episodic and experimental but that just means that every new episode is an adventure. It doesn't hurt that Dandy, QT and Meow are a fun bunch to hang around with.

Monster Musume (Japanese audio) - Episode 09
Overlord (Japanese audio) - Episodes 08-09

That Overlord battle was epic.
DEATH BY CUDDLING! Serves her right.

Watched up to episode 3 of Elfen Lied. I'm still having mixed feelings. I like the stuff with Nyu being hunted and what's going on with the research facility but the ecchi sex comedy stuff and dull romance feel out of place and drag it down. The dub is also pretty sub par.

The Sky Crawlers (Blu-ray)

It was good albeit somewhat ponderous at times and I like the way it was completely character driven however I really didn't like the animation in it.

Silent Mobius - Episode 10
